hello, i have an 1987 mark vii, and the rear suspension is blown + the pump is starting to fail ... i was thinking of changing the airbags for coils. .... are the coils better thant airbagas???
Air bags lasts at least 5 years, out of 3 LSC's I owned I only had to change them once, and at $125 a bag, its only a small price to pay for exclusivity.
Lets see, popping the hood and using a 5/8" socket to change a plug vs having to lift the car, remove the wheel, disconnect the lines not to mention the cost of the airbags, just to have them go out again. I dont think so. Ask any ford mechanic. Theyll tell you that air suspenion during the early ninteies was crap.
@71monzagt6 once you take off the tire, all you need is a flat screwdriver. You don't even need to take the line off if the solenoid valve is still good... but i get your point... its apples and oranges...

Air bag suspension is very easy to work on, anyone who knows how to change a spark plug can change an airbag in 15 minutes or less.

@71monzagt6 once you take off the tire, all you need is a flat screwdriver. You don't even need to take the line off if the solenoid valve is still good... but i get your point... its apples and oranges...
