Thesz was a six-time World Champion and if he came into this match as a 5-time World Champion, then this match must have taken place before 1963 because Thesz didn't win the world championship for the 6th time 'til 1963.
I don't get why Lou Thesz wasn't in this years Hall of Fame, since he is from the site where 26 is going to be, and they could have had like him and Gorgeous George as the "headliners" and the the two could have gone in together by Betty White(George's wife) and could have been the two people who made what the sport is today. Hay or Nay?
This is a fascinating piece of wrestling history. I remember as a kid watching Thesz wrestle a tv match at the tail end of his career.
It is interesting to note that there doesn't seem to be a great deal of cooperation between the two -- at various points Thesz tries to snap mare the guy but Quintero won't put himself over. Neither does Thesz sell Quintero's punches or face rake.
I don't think this match took place in 1967.

Makes you wonder if there is more to this match behind the scenes.
Love watching Thesz. One of few wrestlers in the Pro Wrestling world that inspires me.

Nah, that part is definitely planned. It was a very very clever part of the heat. He kept trying to snap the Hammerlock off but couldnt get it.
Lou really tells a great story around his opponent.

Guys don't overanalyze. It's wrestling, what you see is what you get

It was never a good idea not to work along with Lou Thesz and to go into buisness for yourself. That was an easy way to get hurt...bad!
