Alex has a great "voice."
What do you use to create the animations and displays of text? Are you ever using Quartz composer? Or is it just something in a browser?

Voice Box from Realmac released in 2003. Old text to speech software.

Not to really geek out here, but you may be using VoiceBox, but it's totally speaking through the "Alex" voice that debuted with OS X Leopard.
Anyway, no, what I was wondering is what are you using to do the lookup, and then display the text on the screen.

Yes, you are correct it is Alex's voice.
The lookup is pretty basic, USB Barcode Scanner plugs right into Voice Box program, which converts text to speech and displays text on screen.
