We came up with the stage name Axl Rose from the character name "Rose Axelrod" in the '81 film Endless Love that Tom Cruise had an uncredited role in and we named the band Guns N Roses. I would later pitch the idea to Charlie Sheen for the television comedy "Two and a Half Men" naming the stalker Rose and I made up the "Men" theme song. I wrote Welcome to the Jungle.
