  • @laila1972

hi,i just bought two (fuji red) in my 30gal tank ten days ago.when i bought them from the store they will come up or come close to greet you.now that they are in my tank, they seems tobe afraid and and hide behind the sponge.even when i feed them they wont eat unless you leave them alone.also sometimes when someone just walk by the tank they would panic and start jumping all over,im afraid they might hurt them selves and die.any idea whats wrong with them?pls help.thanks.

  • hello

    my names blake

i would really liek to know how to feed the babies if i take them away from the parents?

im only 16 and it would on be for fun and not for money

any tips would be help full too thanks

  • I wouldnt recommend doing it. Discus is sensitive to get transferred to other water.

  • lol ( mama, maamaaa, maaaaaamaaa) I can imagine that being said over a 1000 times in one second. Cute fish :D

  • I will just say, Beautiful...

  • thanks :)

  • is it hard to look after discus? and what fish would you recommend keeping them with? i really love them but i love them that much i wouldn't want to kill one due to my lack of knowledge

  • i THINK they would be fine with neon tetras , and other NOT small fish :D

  • Discus are one of the more difficult fish. They need very soft water which can cause a lot of acidity fluctuations unless you pay careful attention to the environment.

  • lot of water changes and good food.. Hard / soft water so what.... I keep mine in pH 7.8 . My Discus babies are made in soft water 5.5-6.5

  • That was my point. Maintaining soft water requires more tank maintenance to prevent things from going out of whack.

  • What size is your breeding tank?

  • 65x55x50 L x D x H

  • Great discus. Understand that Pigeon Blood has little slime-coat for the babies. Not true? May be not true, as all these babies are well-fed.

  • no I think you are right ... the father is a cobalt blue.. all the babies was only eating at his body the first week, until they finally saw the light colour mother :)

  • it says 200+ babys but isnt that a litle much if i look there are like 50 to 100 isnt that right?

but annywayz nice still a lot babys how many did u make whit it:)

  • nope there were 235 discus babies

  • y isnt the big fish eating the babies?

  • no newer.. they are protecting their babies

  • That's BEAUTIFUL !!!

  • thats okey :)

  • Where is the other parent? Why was it removed from the aquarium?

  • I had to move it to another aqaurium, the mother started biting the father

  • I com from poland.You

  • denmark

  • good

  • yes

  • wat r u going to do wit the babs

  • I sold them

  • Cool video.......note to posters, BEFORE you get a fish, any fish..research. Discus do not do well alone, unless of course they have babies like the video above.............Please people RESEARCH!

  • thx mate... You are so right dont keep discus alone, if you dont breed them...

  • wow your discus is HUGE!

it is beautiful and the babies look so cute and small

  • thx :)

  • I'm sorry, I'm new to this fish and I'm planning to get one, but, one does mS stand for/mean. I know pH is the acidity of the tank but I can't find anything about mS. Please help. BTW, thanks, and really cool discus. I'm planning on getting an albino butterfly one. :)

  • hey, dont worry about ms, i have discus and i never worry about them, all i do is check ph, and water temp, i also declorinize the water of course, just go do some research and youll be fine

  • mS is the electrition way to messure gH and kH I would say.. Its difficult for me to explane in english.

  • Um, Do discus go well with Gouramis, Mine is going good!

  • no problems

  • Thanks! Um, what do pidgeon blood red discus look like as adults? I have a picture! :D

  • U are my idol :)

    Very nice discus.

Tell me your water parameters in breeding aquarium.

  • lol.....

    thx :)

    Good luck

  • @laila1972

  • i will be happy with just one...

  • I have 40 left for sale :o)
