If this guy were to play in the pros, his curveball might not be good. Good curveballs in the major leagues are different, because major league balls' seams are much thinner. A pro ball hit off a bat can travel 50 feet farther than a regular ball. Atleast that's in the major leagues, I dont know about the japanese leagues.

You will never know unless you go to Okinawa or Japan and live there...then you will know. It's not about D1 or D3 or any other that Bull shit. This is a way of true life for them. When is the last time you drove through an American subdivision neighborhood and saw a sandlot baseball game being played at 11pm at night. actually most of his pitches are barely hitting 90... Thats not very fast considering most american pitchers dont get drafted enless they are throwing mid 90's... If you ever watch D1 baseball you will notice all of them are throwing 90+, but rarely are any of them actually drafted.

Yes, this is from the National High School Baseball Championship commonly known as Koshien. It is a single elimination tournament of the best 49 high school teams of Japan. It is not uncommon to see members of the losing team in tears after a game. It matches if not surpasses popularity of Pro baseball in Japan. The best players of Koshien are celebrities before theyre even drafted. Notable Koshien alumni are Hideki Matsui, Daisuke Matsuzaka, and Yu Darvish.
