If the people of her district 'want it' then why does she think she's falling on a sword? Doesn't that phrase mean you're going against the masses?

Truitt is labeled "liberal" because she votes like one on taxing and spending issues. She has a long and strong record of voting against taxpayer interests, failing the Empower Texans Fiscal Responsibility Index two years running.

Asking Texans to pay higher taxes on gas is especially reprehensible because up to 40% of current gas tax collections are diverted non transportation expenditures.

Vicki Truitt is a conservative stalwart who wants to solve transportation problems in her district and across the state. That does not make her a liberal even if you disagree with her on the bill she carried. She has a long, strong record.
