@RottieWeiler my point is its the exact same car, just rebadged from the exact same company, therefor its the exact same quality....which you said the buick wouldn't be as high quality as the opel. i was just seeing if you noticed your own ignorance in that statment, but i guess not so nvrmind
@RottieWeiler your not backing up any statement. you nvr said anything bout performance earlier, you said the buick wouldn't last as long as the opel. what the hell are you tlking about??
@RottieWeiler Just read in the great big Internet and find out the the Buik Regal built in Rüsselsheim and the Opel Insignia built there are technically exactly the same the only difference is the badge, the grill and slight cosmetic differences with the headlight.
@RottieWeiler And yes you are an idiot saying that a car with a Opel badge lasts 5 years longer then one with a Buik badge. 2 other people commented the exact same thing about the 2 cars beeing the same but stupid as you are you still couldn't figure it out.
Just play with your toy cars and quit commenting bullshit on youtube.
@Raffix394 know what ? just go fuck yourself...i don't give a shit anymore...morons like you don't have anything else to do but to just comment randomly on videos...and yes I myself like many others "play" with R/C Cars ( that's what they're called you dumb fuck )...it's both a hobby and a sport for your general culture...and very expensive so i don't expect you to know anything about them...
@RottieWeiler You're language shows of a very low intellect but what can you expect from someone who believes that if you have 2 technically identical cars that one lasts 5 years longer because of it having a Opel badge on it.
Just continue playing with your toy cars (and RC just means "remote/radio control" do you feel cooler now?) I have a hobby too, buying and selling stocks and gaining profit with it you play with toy cars I', not judging.
Anyway just leave the big car talk to the big boys.
@Motorfordtoyota I've had the same ideas, but as things stand it's meant to see how a buick performance car will do on the market. If it does well enough they will probably try a GSX or GNX with closer to that idea. The new alpha platform is coming out from GM which would be a perfect base for a rear wheel drive twin-turbo buick to debut on. As far as I'm concerned it's a smart plan because as far as power goes, this GS is still faster than any other buick except the GNX and the GSX potentially.
@Motorfordtoyota whats it matter? either motor doesnt have the buick V6 lineage of 40+ years. i think it fits perfect for them. mainly cause i am a chevy hater. B.O.P. line is for me
@buddiiee the gs is going to be an all wheel drive car based on the all wheel drive opal insignia. It is a German based car. Different sources claim that the 4 cylinder is just to hide GM's true intention of bringing the v6 from the European model to our show rooms. Even GM admits it will be AWD. Lets hope Turbo V6 AWD!
They should come back with another Grand National. I mean use the Vauxhall Insignia (the british version of the Opel) 2.8 turbo V6. I mean come on it fits. The GNX had a Turbo V6 and so would this one.
@dualtek100 first off nobody copied nobody, its just so that Opel, Vauxhall is part of GM (Europe) so basically they're sharing their design with GM (America). Saturn is no longer a part of GM and so is pontiac. I believe that the Opel Insignia OPC rebadged to the Buick Regal GS is a smart move to finally put buick on the map against competitors like the Accord, Camry and Altima. word has it that the Regal wont get the OPC design, instead it will get the original Insignia design for 2011.
powered by the same 2.0l turbo found in the cobalt ss i think for once buick is making the right move think about it, that motor is lighter then the v6 turbo and it's dam near built proof, plus you can make it into a serious sleeper with upgrades to the motor.
Seriously? After all this time this is all they could come up with? A tuned down Opel?
I mean seriously, Camaro got a 125hp since the last Camaro in the early 2000s. Regal GS got a 15hp bump since the last one in the early 2000s. How the fuck does that make any sense?
If they keep the power the same as in Europe they would have a chance to capture a younger market with the older generation they presently have. Maybe they will surprise us with a hopped up Regal or Grand National down the line. Wishful thinking...
I couldn't agree with you more but sadly, as a young person, they're going to have to far more than just that. Their image needs a complete make over as well as they're lineup.
@climbxhburg Eh, young schmung. I had sooo many real musclecars, sportscars, supercars. Fuck, I just sold my yellow EVO and kept my soup'd aveo! Point is, I've had enough of the 'pull-me-over' cars. Gimme something with a turbo 2 liter, awd, stick, granny gold with a leather interior. Yeah. Tired of givin up my weed to the po-po. Nice car. Gonna get me one after this year's harvest. Yeah. Real positive. Pick up my rasta at o'hare in one of these. Yeah.
Everyone is saying, "big deal the Buick Regal is just a rebadged Opel Insignia" blah blah blah... So what! The Pontiac G8 was a rebadged Holden Commodore and it was damn nice car, it just came too late. The way I see it, it's all in the GM family and I think a real GM fan could at least appreciate that.
The features of the car is good, and it kills me to say since I don't like domestic cars.
I find it quite stupid that the US Spec of this car is underpowered compared to the UK Spec. I don't understand why they would drop the power by that much.
Two reasons why I think this car will be a flop.
#1, Its a Buick. Eww...
#2, Why buy a car when you know there is another car that's exactly the same with more power, but just isn't sold here. It feels like you are getting ripped off. IMO.
GM is probably thinking about maintaining the Fleet MPG average. Maybe if the new design hits it with the U.S. crowd they will bring out a more sportier version.
Honestly, the name is what will not make me buy this car, its a Buick!!! What are you suppose to tell your friends? "I have this great Turbo-charged sedan with 255hp, Recaro Seats, Adaptive Suspension, Brembo Brakes, 6-speed manual and AWD with an LSD"!!! (What kind of car is it?) ITS A BUICK REGAL MAN!!! OHHH YEAHH!!!!
Nice, a bit weird though seeing a US med car that looks kewl. Looks enough like a Toyota to prob sell well. About the size of the last generation Legacy with similar mechanics, AWD and turbo 2L. Prosumably similar performance. Wonder why the V6 isn't coming. Petrol octane or fuel quality perhaps.

Concept= It looks sick and you want to buy it right away.
Production= It looks like any other marginal car in the road that you don't even care to take a second look.
GM is world famous for making amazing concepts that turn into boring simple production versions.
Case in point? The Volt., Escalade V-Series., Regal GS., and the GMC Graphite.

The Ecotec is just as fast as the V6, if not faster.... It has the same torque and it's lighter- which means it'll handle better too.
