@FrattasioFrancesco I've listened to this song for years. I don't think it's meant to be figured out. The only thing I can come up with is, it's a relationship. It's two like minded people that have good intentions, that want things to work. But they're not communicating. They're together but they're alone. They're hearing but not LISTENING. The solos at the end signify to me, what happens when they're on the same page. The beautiful noise they can create. When they become 1.
@hinrichs42 I've given a very similar meaning to the lyric, but I was just curious to read someone else opinion becouse I wasn't sure of it due to my not-good-enough English. Thank you!
This is an amazing piece of musical talent... you just can't beat musicians, singer, songwriters and producers when they hold the instruments in their hands!!
@3Nerdy I agree with you! I do! But I think this song has as much to do with the rest of the band as with Jeff Tweedy. It just wouldn't be as amazing without the rest of the guys. :)
I can't believe that we didn't get a news flash alert or presidential pronouncement the second the video of this song was released. It's absolutely incredible. Makes me love life again.
just saw them last night in bostonnnnnnnlsiufahbwlgifunveshksucdlrzfgsjakxcmernb jkvshejlkfsnckzvbfg..... My bad. I'm still experiencing shell shock from musical enlightenment.
zomg!!!! I loved this album. First Wilco album I ever bought, I remember buying it on sale around 2008-ish, when Circuit City was circling the drain. It was definitely a good buy. I listened to it till I got sick of if, but now it sounds cool again. I'm gonna go listen to Side With The Seeds.
Am I the only one that sees a really strong resemblance between Nils and Adrian Belew. And I mean that in the best stylistically and musically reverent way possible.
Wilco is one of the great contemporary american rock bands. I saw them open their spring tour in Miami this past march. Though they are one of my favorites,I had never seen them live. They are EVERY BIT as brilliant as I had heard. I've seen hundreds and hundreds of shows n my lifetime and their show ranked amongst the best I'd ever seen. I had tears of joy in my eyes when they played this song. If you've never seen them live and are a fan,you definately owe to yourself to do so.
one of my all time favorite solos
