  • jajajjaa que loco!!

  • I don´t even have a live view ^^ so good for me =D my mom is using live view =D and fully automatic... but she will learn how to shoot RAW =D

  • Aha.... Those who play paintball would know how to take stable shots!

  • Oh my, beautifull lawn dude :)

  • Dude, you hilarious! Pro.

  • White man stole my doll!! :P

  • I use live view when using a tripod when shooting with manual focus so i can cheat .........

  • 4:40 - nothing could stop that Frotrain! :)

  • Like before my photos were fine, watched this to make sure I was doing everything fine and what you said some how just made the shot feel better xD

  • mr polin your crazy

  • BOOM you the man

  • My Camera ONLY has live view :(

I can buy a viewfinder but it's an expensive "Add-on"

I have a Sony NEX-5 by the way

  • You see how in the last slow motion his feet sink into his grass.

  • Whats that lens on your d3000 ??

  • dis was really helpful as well as funny lol

  • OMG that shit was funny, dude.

  • My favorite video so far!! Too funny!! LOL

  • epic fro slow mo

  • I recently got a D7000 (my first SLR) and I was surprised to discover that live view focusing actually beats phase focusing hands down in terms of sharpness. I prefer using viewfinder but knowing that now I'll have to reconsider :(

  • @Zephear it's okay what you're doing.

i got suggestion. when you have lots of free time, go out in the nature, even if you live in a big city, just go out and shoot

but shoot on manual.. i mean, everything, focusing, shutter, aperture, ISO

trough you viewfinder, not live view. just like the old days

do this for some time, you'll see what the point of photography really is

to feel the camera, to know what picture is going to be without live view or auto modes.

  • That's some pretty good running form! Thanks for the tips on holding the camera! Great!

  • I hope that you actually read this and reply so others can see this.

    You forgot BOOM!!! #1.5

If you are taking pictures or going to of subjects far away and are moving...

Place your left arm in front of you in a right angle and put the lens on that.

Of course, its for telephoto lens and the camera must be on autofocus but it really helps.

    Now for questions.

How do you feel about the Eagles and the Niners? (From the bay) If you're into football that is.

What shampoo do you use? (Pantene for me)

  • BOOM

  • BOOM!

  • i saw the whole video and can't remember any tips on how to hold the camera because i was so focused (no pun) on the fact that you tuck in your tshirt. so here's my tip: don't! it takes the coolness away from your afro. really. oh and i replayed so thank you for the tip. :)

  • May I ask what camera you are using to film these amazing videos?

  • Hey you left your fro!

  • tackling tip: drop the shoulder and drive upwards using your legs - it might hurt you a wee bit but that dummy's gonna know it's been hit :) keep up the good work.

  • muy buenos videos... nice

  • Jared Polin says BOOM!

    Kai W says BANG!

  • Twins

  • are you in jackass?? hahaha I'm learn so f****** much with your videos Jared,, thank u so much!!! take care!! God Bless u man

  • Just a li'l tip for slow-mo. Capture in at least 60 fps ;)

  • @Swurph Nikon doesn't shoot a 60fps...

  • Amazing Jared! I love your stunts and how you put your character into your videos. It's gotta punch and it's original.

I would love to see some wrestling with Ken :)

    Peace

  • I never tuck my elbows in... I feel so dim now, thanks Jared for the tip :D

  • May I ask? Why do you keep slamming the dummy

  • I'm a left handed person and I hold my camera the same way.

  • i thought this video was a tackle tutorial

  • You remind me of Zohan . Love your vidz!

  • 0:07-0:09:30 Epic scene

  • Thank you for taking your time and passing down so much knowledge.. very helpful.. just got my first dslr (D3100)...but pls.. dont misguide ppl with wrong information... @ 3:14, it is very clear that u missed a "Boom!!"... Thanks again..

  • When you said that people shouldn't use live-view to shoot, I was like FML. I got an Olympus SP-600UZ for Christmas and what one of the problems - other than the fact that I have zoom problems, the camera freezes, modes freeze, pictures are under/overexposed even in automatic mode, etc - IT DOESN'T HAVE A VIEWFINDER ARRRGGHHH! You knocked the fro off of that manikin.

  • turn on subtitels its really awsome

  • awesome show jared!! greatings from guatemala ! nice haircut!

  • EPIC Intro! Love these new intros. Keep them coming Jared :D

  • Boom #1 should have been when you tackled that Faux Fro ;)

  • replace camera with AR15 and BOOM!!! very tactical shooting Jared

  • BOOM

  • No fro's were harmed in the making of this video.

  • That last tackle in slow-mo Fro? It looked like your eyes saw something you didn't account for. Did you run into something after the hit??

  • Comment removed

  • are you in football?hahahah

  • @MsBmx25 na i used to play hockey.

  • @JaredPolin I Play Hockey Too. And i love photography!

  • Did you ever play strong safety in football?? LOL!!

  • does that dummy have a head?

  • what if I'm lefty? how do I hold it?

  • @joemagma im a lefty you hold it the same way.

  • @joemagma like steve mccurry

  • i wear glasses.how to use the cam without live view?

  • oo 30p hurts my eyes for slo-mo..

    but otherwise another BOOM-i-licious video~

  • After I started watching this video, I always say 'boom' when I take a picture :D

  • Subscribe people,he's giving you great tips... for FREE

  • keep pressing down one ahaha stankey legg

  • soo what was the point of the manikin haha

  • What if you're a woman? Are breasts a good utility for camera stabilization?

  • Jared

One consideration, I have pretty bad near-sightedness and cannot really see anything in the view finder. (Even with glasses) Is there a better camera, or camera category, that lets me use live view instead of the teeny tiny viewfinder screen? Thanks!

  • You can still use live view for landscapes. Setup your camera on a tripod, puil out your macbook pro, then slowly get what you want. =]

  • I also like to have my right hand at the very end of my lens, when im at 270mm. This gives my great stabilisation!

  • MysteryGuitarMan with a fro !

  • @goodnotgreatt il take it lol now can i have 2million subscribers just like him?

  • @JaredPolin I dont know why u dont ve 2 million sub, u give us a very good tips, im sure that u ll reach 3 millions subs !

  • @JaredPolin Make a vid with mysteryguitarman! :D

  • @JaredPolin you deserve them, even more. all of your videos are awesome

  • Is that a D3000 with the 70-200mm VR II? The setup looks like it.

  • BOOM! give you a thumb up!

  • hahahahha u make me laugh

  • @bigmamabryan hey there I'm from Texas too...attending UT, HOOK EM' lol....anyways I recommend the canon 7d if you still havnt decided, it is a fascinating camera with a video mode with quality used to make short films as well as feature films. Hope all is well

  • liveview is useful when doing macro photography and with a tripod

  • For a second there you looked like Troy Polamalu.......Maybe it was the hair....lol

  • Jared, i may sound stupid, but what does VR do? And in what occasions do you need it for?

  • @xK3ViNx07 - VR = Nikon's Vibration Reduction. IS = Image stabilization. Nikon's RULE!

  • dude i love youre show you are awsom best teacher ever

  • DAMN! You just took down Troy Polamalu

  • You are one crazy guy! Question, wanting to up grade from a point and shot camera to a DSLR, Nikon, can't decided between the D3000 or the D5000. I love to take out side nature pic's and old buildings. As you can tell I am a beginer. What would you suggest.

Willing to spend $ on a good lens. Love your video's, keep them comming!

    Texas 54 yr. old mom.

  • I bought a 30 year old pentax film camera from ebay, downloaded the manual, and behold, it had a clear instruction with pictures on how to hold the camera properly, exactly as done here. Should be in every DSLR manual!!!

  • awesome

  • Very True liveview isn't stable and focusing takes forever !!

  • great tips and nice touch down to ur Mr.watever ..lol

  • I agree with the whole live view thing, i NEVER take a photo with live view, i can't stand it!

  • i nearly pissed my pants. so funny! ^^

  • Great vid.. I already shoot that way and when I use heavier lenses I wrap most of the camera strap around my right arm's wrist(for now, I haven't gotten around to buying a wrist strap). I rarely shoot video on my D90 and Live view only gets used for when I pull out the wireless remote and I want to be in the shot since I can use the face detection.

  • great tips man! i think is soo cool that we get to see tips from a pro and also thanks for taking the time to make this videos! nice tackle! but careful that dummy might strike back lol

  • It makes me cringe when I see people holding DSLRs at the sides and not holding the lens. A little part of me dies inside when I see that. I prefer using the viewfinder to live view. Using the view finder just feels right, if that makes any sense.

  • BOOM, lol i had to laugh the whole video, coulnd't listen to anything. i think i'll watch it again. one of your best videos so far! thanks a lot, you made my day!

  • They should make a new starwars movie called

    'Attack of the Fro'' :-)

  • @FirebrandNIRE i like that!!! maybe i will have to go get a light saber or something.

  • I hate live view on DSLR cameras....It might be good for some things, but seeing ppl use LV to take pictures bothers me!

  • I see folk at air shows with there super telephotos usually 500mm and 600mm and they have them just free hanging from there neckstrap with no support on the body and lens! im waiting to see a few of them snap of from the body this year.

  • This may be a stupid question but... is there a difference in which eye you use to look through the viewfinder? I use my right eye.

  • @milieugraye no, its just your personel prefrence. which ever you feel comfortable with looking thru the view finder

  • @milieugraye Which ever eye is your dominant eye usually is the eye you use to look through the camera. For me It is my left eye so I use that when looking into the camera.

  • @JaredPolin does a 17-55 2.8 really need vr?

  • good vid jared. i preach that to everyone i see holding the lens from the top. dude, you owned 'frosene."

  • I cant stand it when i see people holding the lens from the top! They do that then just hold the body and it makes me want to cry lol.

Good points about the live view btw. Its also used for astrophotography for precise focus so they don't jolt the camera :)

  • @EurghMatt The live view does work well for the tri-pod so i wanted to make that correction and such.

    Thanks for the view.

  • LOL :D the intro was too good.

Yeah People do the same thing when i hand them my DSLR, and I m like, how the heck you 'll handle the lens when you are grabbing the body.

Live View on DSLR is basically useful for Longer exposures when you can see the effects of different Aperture and shutter speed on screen.

But for handheld Live View is a douche move to show off.

ROFL the last one was EPIC :D :D
