I've known Bud since I was 14. I'm 51 now. I always knew what he went through. I understood from a young age what his Medal of Honor meant. I was over at Bud's, house yesterday with his son Mark whom I've been best friends with since we were 14 -- that's how I know Bud. I've never seen the DVD, but will now ask him if he has any copies available or maybe I'll just sit down with him and we'll watch it together : )
I met SGT Hawk 10 years ago or so, while collecting donations for the VFW... As a fellow NCO, I knew exactly what that MOH flag was... I wrote a song about meeting him and seeing the medal and citation... I was just blown away by it, and have to go visit him again... I called him yesterday and told him that I had been through this and that in Iraq, but had never done anything like him, and he simply said "I didn't do anything more than anybody else"... Message me if you want me to send the song
I have an autographed copy of a Medal Of Honor citation, which recipient Gary George Wetzel, a Vietnam vet, was kind enough to send to me. It's a little rough, because of losing his writing arm to an enemy rocket. It is one of my prized possesions. These guys are true heroes.
Heh, It isn't all just because as michaelharper110 said "it was fucking massive and all because of some nazi prick wanting to "rule earth" mmm original idea. LEST WE FORGET"
That isn't true, it had alot about WW1 (duh) before hitler, he started WW2 because he wanted to be like his idol (the starter of WW1) I don't remember the detales, but it has long history before hitler
you dont win a medal of honor you only recive one. also you would be lucky to be aliving ricipant. finaly all thoes who have given their lives for their country are heros no matter what country or what side of any war they are on they are still heros
yes! he is a true american hero...not many of those true american heroes still living! drop me a clip of the movie where they mention his name...i would like to see it!!
Those were the days...when you get too see lots of them...white knights in their shining armour...not only rsiking their lives...but everything...just for the sake of the the entire world...we will always remember them...though we do not know them...
Made me remember the interviews special made for the series Band of Brothers.
"So.. my grandson Johnny one day came to granpa and asked "Grandpa are you a war hero?" Grandpa said: No...but, grandpa fought in company of heroes *tear*"
I agree with you dogmeatmgc... I just made a video using some of the clips of MoH:Airborne trying to prove just that. Nice video by the way. I forget too there are others out there who have the same respect for all the men who served in World War II
to many ppl in this world don't realize what WW2 did to this world an the effects of it are still around today. many ppl think it's just soem damn story. not knowing or truly realizing that the whole world was at war.
so shove that just war crap up your lib ass. fighting Communists is a good thing too. also many Americans before this war thought it wasn't worth getting involved into till pearl harbor.
'Great video & tribute to real Heroes in a just war... not to many of those came afterwards...'Of course not,in korean and vietnam we were fighting the communists and that wasn't nice of us.And btw all that talk about fighting to preserve freedom is utter bullshit. The truth my friends is much grimer and less heroic as it always is
Truly extremly moving to see these Brave Men fight for such a just and Nobel cause, of whom many gave their lives fighting the evil tyranny of nazism. they gave their lives so we could live ours
I would be a nobel undertaking, going in with such bavery, and you could come back a hero. But youd see countless friends die along way, and many were lost in the dreadful war
amazing video

Loving the background theme.
Man, what a time it must have been to serve in WWII, such a noble undertaking.
