I'm a big Phillies fan myself... quick story. i had tickets to the ws game but i ended up buying fake tickets for 455 dollars a piece. i was stupid for doing it. anyway i just wanted to prove to you that i was from your area.... i actually live in hammonton new jersey. ummm i saw on your page u were wanting to collect chase utley cards. i have a ton of utley auto's i'm actually a huge schmidt fan i'll trade you and even since you live so close i'll do a person trade were we cn met keep in touc
Another one of the great voices of baseball has been silenced, but the legacy will always live on......Rest in Peace Harry......& my sympathies to all Phillies Fans and all true baseball fans!!!
my sympathies to you Alex and the rest of all the Phillies fans out there.
We're quickly losing an entire generation of sports broadcasters who helped make the games what they are today. I close my eyes and imagine a Tigers game and first thing I think of is not the sounds of the game, but the voice of Mr. Harwell.
Another great one has passed and he will be missed by more than just Philadelphia.
Mr. Kalas signed a baseball for me a couple of years ago at Turner field in Atlanta.....He was truly a class act & will be missed in the broadcast booth.
RIP Harry. Nice tribute Alex, and I know exactly how you feel. It was the same way for us Laker fans when Chick Hearn passed away, and I dread the day we won't have Vin Scully to announce our Dodger games any more.
Harry was one of the few genuine baseball announcers. He was the guy that could paint a picture in my head when all I could do was listen in. He will be sincerely missed not only by the Phillies orginization but by their dedicated fans as well. "Its outta here" just won't sound the same anymore.
Awesome tribute. The soundbites on the last half got me a little teary eyed. I'm a Dodger fan who's only known Vin Scully all my life, but hearing emotional calls (from any baseball announcer) brings back 36 years of my baseball memories. It takes a special person to capture the game with so much heart and compassion. Rest in Peace Harry.
Harry Kalas was truely a legend for Philadelphia baseball. I can remember every call Harry has ever made and the one thing with Harry is that people can always say Harry was a great broadcaster but you have to say to was a hell of a person too. I will greatly miss Harry Kalas and the games will never be the same to listen to but as Babe Ruth has once said "heroes are remember but legends never die" and Harry Kalas will always be with every single Phillies fan.
its out of hereeeee. rip harry k
