While traveling in India, the women are humble and kind. As a tourist I noticed how the women were very respected. People will come to their rescue. In other areas people give up, because the police will not arrest the criminals. Considering, how poor and large is the population, prostitution is surprisingly small. This is just my opinion and observation.

After having spent much time in India, this is sadly not surprising. It is still disgusting and needs to be stopped. I have adopted three indian daughters one of which was a teenager when she came home and she new that if she was not adopted before age 14, that it was a virtual death sentance! It was no "accident" that those officers "lost" them. They truly don't care. Much of it has to do with their religion and the other has to do with their culture. Regardless, it is heartbreaking!
