you know something that pisses me off? Its never esplained how the evoker actually make the persona be summoned. I wish the game would've fleshed out past event a little better.

From what I understand, at one point Mitsuru explains that the fear that comes from pointing a gun at oneself and pulling the trigger causes enough stress to unleash one's Persona. However, I don't really remember her saying that... I'll just have to play through it again. :)

I was actually waiting for the explanations throughout the whole game and it never appeared.

Also, once her motorcycle is destroyed she never mentions, explains or even uses her shadow sensing abilities. It was totally forgotten. This game is soooo weak when it comes to explaining things.

At the end of the day the evoker were used for shock value.

Well, I wouldn't exactly say "shock value". The game touches very heavily on the subject of death, and the evokers representative of that.

I'm a bit late in replies, but I heard the part with Akihiko only explains why it's shaped like a gun. I always assumed the evoker just gave the characters a mental jolt and that's what summoned the persona. :D

I believe it's more of a symbolism thing that doesn't really need an explanation. Persona 3 had a "memori morti" theme ("Remember you will die," the game over monologue, etc.) that was all about death and its imminence. So the whole deal about "shooting" oneself in the face of danger to become stronger is just part of the whole theme.

that's not excuse...You can simbolize as much as you want as long as you explain how things come to be. Especially since in previous no gun was needed to summon a Persona. I think it was just used to make the game dark since this game is a little too cheerful to be an SMT game. There's an explanation!

There are two versions of the game.

Persona 3 is the normal one, FES the expansion.

FES has the original game in it, though.

The stuff I mentioned earlier is also in it (FES). You can say it's the same game with more features added to it and a new storyline taking place after the ending of P3 (additional +30 hours of gaming).

Nope since this video was added on June and it in English. It been confirm that FES would be release in the US this month(It comes out in April)
