I never said that it didn't start in Boston. But the team, called the COLTS started in Baltimore. But other than that, I agree with everything you said.

It's about Robert Irsay lying to all of Baltimore's fans and saying he had no intention of leaving, then sneaking out in the middle of the night in a snow storm before the masses were awake. Actually, it's happened 14 times in the NFL (15 if you count the Raiders move back to Oakland and 16 if you count the Cardinals and Patriots 10-20 min moves to scottsdale and Foxburro). And 10 times in the NHL. And it's prolly happened more then 21 times in the NFL if you count the merger team's moves when they were in the AFL and AAFC.

I have to argue that "IT" hasn't happened 15 times. There's a reason they still show footage of those Mayflower trucks pulling off at 3 in the morning in a snow storm almost 30 years later on ESPN and other sports broadcasts. Because its the ONLY time a team owner has ever moved a team without the city knowing about it. Irsay was a drunken asshole who lied, saying that he had no intention of moving the Colts (days after a meeting in Arizona about a possible move which fell through).

OK, now you listen VERY carefully. The COLTS name originated in Baltimore in 1947. The current colts TEAM (that both Peyton Manning and Johnny U played for)(both in different cities) originated in Boston in 1944. The current Colts colors originated in Dallas Texas when the team was the Dallas Texans from 1952-1953. But one could argue that the Colts colors originated in New York in 1949 when the team first moved and changed their name to the Bull Dogs.
