The smarter move would have been 33. ...Nxe3, but because they were playing blitz chess Kasparov simply overlooked the crucial error of removing the protection from his critical g pawn. Kasparov, a tactical player, made a gross positional error. Karpov would have never made the error himself, and he, too, would have taken the same pawn Vishy took with his queen. Keep in mind that this was a blitz chess game; in a normal game Garry would have seen the error.
I think that kasparov did the lesser evil by castling. Saving the queen will only makes matters worse. He is at the verge of two attacks (Qxc8+ at the queenside or Qxg7 on the kingside).

kasparov gave the most epic facepalm when he made that blunder with the queen. it was kinda sad though.

thanks for the video man, really preciat'it... that QxE2 was a really bad move, he was having a pretty cool advantage with those central pawns.

How about Qxf2+, Kxf2, then castles?

I don't think it changes anything: 34...Qxf2+ 35.Sxf2 O-O 36.c4! Sf6 37.Qf5! and white dominates the game. 37.Qxh3 also should win.

yep, that's right. No move is good enough to save the position

was kasp thinking King is in g2? (sleepy? lol)
Rxe3..Nxe3+
Kf1 ..Nxg4

actually, no, 1:13 is move 33.
But the mistake si at 1:25 he castles instead of saving his queen from the rook.

Since Rc8 is attacked, it would lose as much material. That's what Kasparov saw.

Tha wrong move's at 1:13

I would have expected ...Nxe3 instead of ...Qxe3 at 1:18

i supose he was trying to exchange the queens to reach the end game with his 3 intactas central pawns, after that the game was won.
