Parasite Eve "Ending"

I think the glowing eyes at the end are just there to remind the player that the mitochondria are still there in every living cell on earth. cells cannot function without them. Eve hasn't gone anywhere...she'll just have to try again when the opportunity presents itself

The ending just put Maeda's retrospect at the end of the game to visual metaphor: it shows the parasites living within Aya, then pans out to the Earth's parasites, human beings. There is nothing more or less to it than that -- stop failing to get the point.

I personally love this ending since it gives that old b-movie "The End?" epilogue. And I do believe this ending was meant to raise two questions: "Who won?" but more importantly, "Is Aya really Aya in the end?"

i like the 2nd game and all but i think this would have been a way better sequel. Her powers were flippin awesome in the 1st game and finding out what's with this glowing eye freak would've made a good game

Stuff like this in parasite eve is the reason why i'm terrified of the game, I played it as a kid and to this day as a late teen i'm still scared of it, but I love video games and I really like this one at the same time, even though i'm scared to death of it. Eve creeps me out with her gi-normous hands and her stalk or whatever that thing is under her dress.

I mean.. you end a game that is open for interpret. nd it looks like its a bad english and everybody turning into something oder whatever.. then the sequel comes and nobody leaves a word about that second time in the opera will hundrest of red clowing eyes? I dont know.. ist just feels strange an wrong if you inset PE2 after completing PE1 with THAT ending in mind

This needs to be clarified for everyone who apparently failed to play the game itself:

These are not POSSIBLE ENDINGS. They BOTH occur when you beat the game, in THIS order.

It's just that there is some in-game cutscenes in between the two, which this video cut out.

oh god, it's been 10 years for me to see this ending !! I am so sad that I did not end PE2 though I played it on PS1, PC and PSP, not because it's hard, but I always have troubles, either the PS1 is not working or the PC, and the PSP it freezes before I fight the first boss !! I wanna end it before PE3 released but can't !_!

Well i think aya's mitochondria have wakened...remember this...eve have said the mitochondria of aya isn't awakened yet...so i think in the end her mitochondria was awakened...and the most "evolved" mitochondria can control another 1's mitochondria...so in the end that happened...

I wish they had kept this ending. They should've introduced a new main character in Parasite Eve 2 and have Aya be the antagonist

I think the more direct implication is that Aya's sort of "stretching." She's exercising her powers more freely now, and tapping into the mitochondrial energy of everyone around her, awakening THEIR latent powers a bit... Which has some interesting implications. Like Aya becoming something of a puppet master herself.

I love this game,too.i've the copy of it,i buyed it in '98 and it works ok!i'm a fan of this game.the 2nd one was not "bad" but it has nothing to do with the story,only the name Eve.bye! ^_^
