What non-songwriters fail to recognize about Pinback is that their use of subtle differences between the rhythmic patterns of the drums, bass, and two guitars, along with the panoramic positioning of said parts, is what creates the wonderful backdrops for their vocals to sing over. Then to kick even more ass, they have independent vocal parts continuing the madness, leaving the listener grooving hard, all the while feeling a sense of disorientation. Pinback > every douche rock band.
HEY! i posted a song thats not on youtube by pinback, its called photograph taken, its one of there best songs, please come check it out if you like pinback
WHAT?!?!? Blasphemy! This is my FAVORITE song on the album. You're just not giving it a chance. The transition between 2:23 and 2:24 is fucking soul exuding from the song.
respect your honesty but this and bouquet (and nothing to nowhere, good to sea, at first..) are the best songs on an album that unfortunately has the same pace as summer in abadon which was a bit languid
I think it's somewhere around middle to bottom, still a great song though. "F. N.T.N." and "Subbing for Eden"are my least favorite and "Walters" is the best IMO. Different than the older stuff but still amazing
Technically, there are 2 bass parts playin, so you can say double bass. Zach is amazing on the wheels of steel. This song reminds me a lot of Prog; the structure of it.
this is from the new album aint it? I gotta go get it. tomorrow. Pinback rules. absolutely beautiful music, instrumentation arrangement melody, vocals..........
2:23 - 2:45: That guitar interlude made my ears cum.

I heard this song "Barnes" is about Chris Barnes, the vocalist for Six Feet Under and formerly Cannibal Corpse.

hwgavin 2 years ago 3
Its not that there underrated, its just that nobody really seems to know they exist at all.....Which actually might be a good thing for them

Woohoo double bass, badass!
savagepug 3 years ago 3
that's not a double bass. A double bass is a stand up bass, the large wooden instrument jazz musicians play.
nduguchansler 3 years ago
Right on, yeah I actually meant that they are playing two different bass guitars at once, which sounds pleasing to my ear :)
savagepug 3 years ago
