how easy is it to grow coconuts in florida or do you have to be in a certain area?

Jello, I'm from the North so I'm no expert. However listen at 1:29, Denny said he just grabbed a sprouted coconut that was floating in the canal, planted it and it took off! He's in South FL, but I'm guessing they can be grown anywhere in FL...
