This is a beautiful and serene song, and your playing is downright excellent. Wish I could play like this. Thank you very much for this great performance!
Your rendition of this is truly inspiring. I'm not sure if it is the same, but there is a theme in "Howl's Moving Castle" that this composition is very similar to. Your virtuosity is worthy of all the praise that I have witnessed on your channel and in this thread.
Thanks. I saw that movie and it does have a beautiful theme. (I'm not heavily into anime but I'm a Jean Simmons completist so that's the main reason I recorded and watched it.). I think Sungha did a version on his channel. I thought of working on it at the time and now i want to listen to it again to compare to Pacata.
thanks. i don't make tablatures at all. this was learned from score. when i make arrangements i just memorize them as i go..and if i forget how they go, i just watch the clip again.
I am happy to see you are still producing quality guitar music for us all to enjoy. You are a gifted player and I really enjoy watching you and being inspired by your technical skill along with your sensitive touch.
Just so beautiful, I am really new to playing guitar, but I can never find the tabs of these songs that I would like to play, Instead I only find fast paced song's with too many strings been used... so far only song I can do is Stand By Me :(
I know this sounds just like an advertisement - but it could really be helpful for you to look at my channel, as I just uploaded some easy pieces which are suitable for learning to play the guitar.
thanks for the humbling reply. this is my first time having ever heard of Arthur Verocai's music by way of your playing "Pacata". you played this so well that until now i thought may be your arrangement. i just listened again and find i've been unaware of some very nice music of Arthur Verocai's all these years. thank you very kindly for this performance. it directly led me to this incredible artist.
amazing interpretation!! I just met verocai because of you.. but as a Brazilian I have heard a lot of his work in brazilian popular music. But never heard his instrumental music... thx !!!!

Are you by any chance a professional instrument endorsee? If not may I suggest you consider becoming one. I think there would be plenty who would happily give you their instruments to play! Question is, whose guitars would YOU choose?
once more sir, thank you very much. And you could fill an auditorium even during a depression because music is the spiritual food we need when times are hard!
When are you gonna get a manager and book a tour? You're practically a worldwide household word among guitar players - I'd pay 20 bucks to watch you do this (and the Beatles/Genesis covers) in a concert hall! I bet lots of us would!
You may find me busking on the street for passing change once the 2nd Great Depression falls. I don't think i'll be packing auditoriums any time soon. but then no one will afford tickets either....
I was wanting to purchase a classical guitar (I play electric) but have no idea what brands/models are good for beginners and which ones to stay away from.
Of course my budget isn't too high, say $200-$250.
very nice... je regrette d'avoir en grande partie oublié l'anglais appris à l'école.... do you understand spanish ? en tal caso, le puedo decir que me gusta mucho sus videos y la manera que tiene usted de tocar guitarra
I can see it but the high quality clip is loading REALLY slowly over the last few days. I think YT may need another server upgrade soon. Everyone's watching hi quality and HD now. stuff is slowing down. Thanks, buddy.
Ah, still no luck with the stereo link. Should I add some kind of suffix to the regular url? Anyway, I love the extremely melancholic feel you put into this piece.
&fmt=18 worked for me just now. So, yeah, not sure what's going on. Maybe try a different browser if you have options. If I find firefox can't do something then it probably works on IE. Or vise versa.
Great job once again, Tony. This song is so familiar, I know it from somewhere. First I thought it sounded like 'Dexter's tune' from the soundtrack to Awakenings. But after comparing the two they don't seem to be the same. Anyway, I'll go on racking my brain trying to figure out where I know this song from. Great job!
I first heard Arthur's album on a trip to NY in 1974. Thanks to you for re-introducing me to his wonderful music, no one does Arthur like Tony! BTW, Arthur's myspace page list a show on 03/15/09 in L.A., Cali.
Cool. Maybe he'll come over east too. That early album is fantastic, isn't it? Every time I work on one of his pieces, I have to pull out my cd and listen to "Caboclo" and especially "Na Boca do Sol" which just kills me. Really the whole album is amazing.
I'm so jealous, only one show so far at the Harriet and Charles Luckman Fine Arts Complex - 8.00 pm. Fantastic says it all. It would great to hear him do the whole album live.
I like those slow intimate tune so much. And you are able to let those notes perl so well with beautiful intonation and sound. Tony, I followed your style to a new hybrid nylon guitar. Not in that high quality then yours but its such an easy playing. You can reach every register (cutaway) and its easy to change between steel and nylon because of the narrower neck. I can't get my hands off it. Maybe you can see in further uploads.
first of all ..congratulations as usual for your beautiful playing...but regarding the change of recording concept i've some doubts about the rendition..comparing this one with your version of abertura, here i noticed a sound too much clear, with a continuous woosh(is it the right word? )..while in abertura the sound is warmer, and more balanced..sorry..hope i didn't let you down, tony. :-)..by the way, thanks for letting me discover this interesting brazilian composer..
thanks. Abertura was recorded a long while back with a little Logitech usb mic made for video conferencing! Back then, I just recorded directly into Windows movie maker. The clips from that era sound better, because there's no potential to make the audio sound Really Good (or really bad for that matter).
Ever since switching to the AT mic, I hear the constant whooshing too, but It's some sort of YT post-processing that causes it. The source clip doesn't sound like that on my pc.
I think, perhaps, it has to do with YT's wma to mp3 conversion: if your original source file is wma it might be better to change it to mp3 then render the file "HQ video large". The WMV audio will now have been converted to mp3 audio, so there wouldn't be any conversion for YT to make.
btw when I first started recording I worked with an AT3035, but after seeing your stuff I bought the Logitech "Noodle" mic. It sat unused...then I bought AT 4040. Now, I'm trying "the noodle" and would you know I like that little bugger!
Beautiful Tony, I like your stereo sound too, it gives me an idea to work with a delay panning, I'll also experiment with that, your sound is nice and spacious this way, and the Music superb, beautiful composition, a nice serene woman, that's for sure, greets Vic.
You really do have a magic touch. Thanks for working so hard to continue to put out beautiful music--I know I appreciate it greatly. It's nice to rely on troubleclef uploading something sweet so often.
todays a rough day for the tube. My vids got choppy today. I hate that. It takes away from the show some-especially the comedy. But your music shines through. Gosh thanks for the beautifull morn. music.Always a pleasure, your fan M.O.M.
There it is! So uploading went well on your side of the world?
Great video. The sound is fabulous. But I never thought your sound was bad. Great piece, too. It's hard to play slowly and still keep it interesting. But you did it!
Yes, sorry to hear of the slowness over there. Just one of those occasional freaks I guess. I didn't see your new thing as it must still be processing (or was 10-15 minutes ago when i looked)
Glad you like it. I just can't get happy with the sound. Still trying...
This is a beautiful and serene song, and your playing is downright excellent. Wish I could play like this. Thank you very much for this great performance!

It's really great, and so is your way to improve your audio - good description of it.
I use Audacity, as well, and then I add the track to windows media player live , FYI :)
Thanks for sharing. 5 *****

This one is coming over to me with more top end than your two previous pieces. Is it closer to the sound you are striving for?
Beautifully played, as ever.

Beautiful Tony, I like your stereo sound too, it gives me an idea to work with a delay panning, I'll also experiment with that, your sound is nice and spacious this way, and the Music superb, beautiful composition, a nice serene woman, that's for sure, greets Vic.

todays a rough day for the tube.

Best,
Jo

Yes, sorry to hear of the slowness over there. Just one of those occasional freaks I guess. I didn't see your new thing as it must still be processing (or was 10-15 minutes ago when i looked)
Glad you like it. I just can't get happy with the sound. Still trying...
