  • This is a beautiful and serene song, and your playing is downright excellent. Wish I could play like this. Thank you very much for this great performance!

  • Your rendition of this is truly inspiring. I'm not sure if it is the same, but there is a theme in "Howl's Moving Castle" that this composition is very similar to. Your virtuosity is worthy of all the praise that I have witnessed on your channel and in this thread.

  • @TYRESIUSI714

Thanks. I saw that movie and it does have a beautiful theme. (I'm not heavily into anime but I'm a Jean Simmons completist so that's the main reason I recorded and watched it.). I think Sungha did a version on his channel. I thought of working on it at the time and now i want to listen to it again to compare to Pacata.

    cheers.

  • I have loved your playing for some time now. I'm confused. What album is this from? where is the definative version? Dan

  • thanks. not sure what album this is from (if it is on any album)

  • May I ask how you came to it, so?

It is a treasure! And this video is a real find. Obrigado indeed.

  • By the way , beautifull peace and interpretation

  • This composition reminds me "Cavatinha" from the sound track of the movie Dear Hunter... Have you tried to play this one ? Also beautifull !

  • wow

  • wonderful guitar playing a a beautiful piece.

  • Thank you .........

  • This is just such a beautiful piece. You are an amazing musician! Thank you for posting your work.

  • Wonderful poetic recital! You are a great artist! You enchanted me. Is Arthur Verocal from Cuba or Brazil? Muchas gracias! Muito obrigado! Pierre

  • C'est parfait ! ok excuse me ... it's perfect. Thanks for this beautifull moment !!!

  • Wonderful, my friend!!! This music inspire the best of ourselves, the best feelings...

Thanks for the pleasure, dear friend. And a great hug.

    Suri.

  • Beautiful composition, and very well played!

Can you possibly send me the score?

    (if its in tab)

i cant seem to find it on google..

  • Firstly, this is fantastic. Secondly, do you tab all your songs by yourself?

  • thanks. i don't make tablatures at all. this was learned from score. when i make arrangements i just memorize them as i go..and if i forget how they go, i just watch the clip again.

  • I am happy to see you are still producing quality guitar music for us all to enjoy. You are a gifted player and I really enjoy watching you and being inspired by your technical skill along with your sensitive touch.

  • Just so beautiful, I am really new to playing guitar, but I can never find the tabs of these songs that I would like to play, Instead I only find fast paced song's with too many strings been used... so far only song I can do is Stand By Me :(

  • I know this sounds just like an advertisement - but it could really be helpful for you to look at my channel, as I just uploaded some easy pieces which are suitable for learning to play the guitar.

    J.K.

  • Thank you so much! :)

  • I absolutely love this piece. Is there any way to get sheet music for this somewhere, Tony? And thanks for introducing to us this wonderful music.

  • You're amazing

  • absolutely beautiful music , is your guitar tuned in a normal E tuning ? if not which tuning did you use?

  • thanks. yup. standard tuning on this one.

  • J'aime beaucoup....

  • Awsomee,, so touching,,,keep going,,,

  • beautiful...

  • Wow, this made me close my eyes and my mind soar. Thank you, Arthur. I've added this to my inspirational music choices for when I'm writing.

  • Erm, Pardon my mistake. *smile* meant to say Tony, not the original artist.

  • No problem. I've been called worse. thanks!

  • beautiful

  • thanks for the humbling reply. this is my first time having ever heard of Arthur Verocai's music by way of your playing "Pacata". you played this so well that until now i thought may be your arrangement. i just listened again and find i've been unaware of some very nice music of Arthur Verocai's all these years. thank you very kindly for this performance. it directly led me to this incredible artist.

  • Arthur's great. He has a couple of recent albums that are well worth checking out (in addition to the ultra-classic first album of course)

  • your inversions are most enjoyable.

    nice melody over the

    F#sus2 D7/5- G7M F7M/5- E7

    ( 3:02 through 3:15 )

  • thanks. but this is played straight from the score so i don't get any credit for the inversions or the melody. :D

  • beautiful

  • You're so lucky to study his work. You play it beautifully. I don't recognize this song and I am a huge fan!

  • thanks. yeah, it's a real treat to study Arthur's pieces. I have a few more to work on. harder ones, though....

  • I'm going to see him perform this Sunday! I am losing my mind. I can't wait, yet at the same time I'm going to be so sad when it ends!

    Keep up the good work!

  • enjoy. where's he playing?

  • He's playing in Los Angeles!

  • A beautiful piece, soulful interpretation and nice technique!

Btw, thanks for the info on the audio.

  • Really lovely!! 5*

  • amazing interpretation!! I just met verocai because of you.. but as a Brazilian I have heard a lot of his work in brazilian popular music. But never heard his instrumental music... thx !!!!

achh.. i love the interpretation of Senza fine.. gino paoli rulezzzz!!!

  • did you know where can i find this tablature? i mean music scores

    thanks

  • this is beautiful

but can you do more beatles songs, please? they're my favorite:)

  • When I'm drawing I put you on. Your art makes my art better. (of course I find myself watching, mesmerized by your playing and have to tear myself back to my drawings but that's besides the point).

  • wonderful sound and amazing piece

  • This piece is just amazing. It brings about a calm disposition upon the listener. Thanks so much for playing this, and also for the way you played it. I'll keep coming back to this whenever I need to bring myself back to earth.

  • what sort of stile is this? isn't clasiscal, it sounds more to me like a kind of actual nostalgic movie soundtrack.

beatifully played. really touched me at the very first play

  • Exquisite! You play very well.

  • the new recording set up is superb!

    great song too

  • Otimo!!! Great stuff!

  • the audio is definitely of much better quality with the new recording

  • Você está melhor a cada dia...como se isso fôsse possível!?!?!?!?!

    Mais uma vez MUITO OBRIGADO!

You are better every day....could it be possible!?!?!

THANKS A LOT one more time!

  • Amazing as usual!!!

Nice, clear sound, but a little metallic...

    5star

  • Meu amigo adoro ouvi-lo tocar.

    Você é brasileiro?

    Abraço

  • great

  • Really beautiful! Es impresionante como se escucha en High quality. Me alegraste la mañana entre mate y mate, aqui en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Gracias!

  • Hi Tony.

    Very nice interpretation.

    All the best;

    Arthur

  • Thank YOU, Arthur. It's an immense privilege to be able to present your music here and actually have you hear it and comment on it. I can't tell you how much that means to me. Your music is a real inspiration. Thanks again. Um grande abraço

  • Your new recording concept sounds wonderful in High Quality thru my computer sound system. Beautiful, soulful playing as usual. Thanks!!!

  • Dear friend... i'm impresionate with your easy play and your fantastics fingers.

    Troubleclef... Thank other time

  • I´m glad I subscribed to you. Good job, it made me relax

  • Bravo, beautiful...

  • Are you by any chance a professional instrument endorsee? If not may I suggest you consider becoming one. I think there would be plenty who would happily give you their instruments to play! Question is, whose guitars would YOU choose?

  • Beautiful!

  • this one certainly makes for addictive listening

  • Sua alma é brasileira, cara. Não tem jeito...

  • beautiful song,... i like all your song :-)

especially the genesis 's ones because i'm a great fan of genesis :-)

  • I wish you had a CD or some music on itunes I could buy it. You're so amazing!

  • once more sir, thank you very much. And you could fill an auditorium even during a depression because music is the spiritual food we need when times are hard!

  • Hauntingly Beautiful......... Thank you.

  • nice music

  • Beautiful.

  • When are you gonna get a manager and book a tour? You're practically a worldwide household word among guitar players - I'd pay 20 bucks to watch you do this (and the Beatles/Genesis covers) in a concert hall! I bet lots of us would!

  • You may find me busking on the street for passing change once the 2nd Great Depression falls. I don't think i'll be packing auditoriums any time soon. but then no one will afford tickets either....

  • nice one, thanks for taking the trouble on the audio, great playing as ever.

i think if you ever spoke on a video it would freak people out at this point

your guitar playing speaks for itself

perhaps having apparently never spoken gives you a wider appeal, actually, i dare you

it would be interesting to have an insight into the mind behind those tunes

  • that's what my blog was intended as, but i've pretty much abandoned blogging. thanks for watching.

  • ahh i'm so jealous, you can play so fantastically! it sounds so nice :-)

  • very very good!!!

  • Another great job on a wonderful piece of music. Bravo!Bravo! and Cheers!!!

  • I was wanting to purchase a classical guitar (I play electric) but have no idea what brands/models are good for beginners and which ones to stay away from.

Of course my budget isn't too high, say $200-$250.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

  • very nice... je regrette d'avoir en grande partie oublié l'anglais appris à l'école.... do you understand spanish ? en tal caso, le puedo decir que me gusta mucho sus videos y la manera que tiene usted de tocar guitarra

  • thanks merci gracias grazie obrigado arigato

  • My my. What a penetrating melody is this. TroubleClef, you always bring such pretty gifts!! Thank you...

  • You are wonderfull!

  • Beautiful and very moving , As Always ! :)

  • very good Tony!

  • Shot right to my heart.

:) Your videos always make me excited over guitar.

  • BRAVO! 5*

  • this music is very beautiful and the sound is fantastic.

    thank you.

  • This is absoloutely stunning.

  • every time you put out a video it makes my day! i know i am not the only one who feels that way =) thanks for being awesome

  • and thank YOU

  • simply amazing

  • Bravo, Tony! Ridiculous awesome.

  • Excellent! You made my evening :)

  • Beautiful. I can't see the high quality link below the video though.

  • I can see it but the high quality clip is loading REALLY slowly over the last few days. I think YT may need another server upgrade soon. Everyone's watching hi quality and HD now. stuff is slowing down. Thanks, buddy.

  • Ah, still no luck with the stereo link. Should I add some kind of suffix to the regular url? Anyway, I love the extremely melancholic feel you put into this piece.

  • that's weird. they say the code to append to the url line is: &fmt=18

    give it a whirl

  • I tried that but I just don't notice the difference. Maybe it's my software (browser or flash version) that needs an update.

  • &fmt=18 worked for me just now. So, yeah, not sure what's going on. Maybe try a different browser if you have options. If I find firefox can't do something then it probably works on IE. Or vise versa.

  • Bravo!! Bravo!!

  • Wonderful as per usual. You're a constant source of inspiration.

  • The audio is really good now...

  • best sound of any of your vids, thanks for sharing how you did this, great playing as usual

  • Great job once again, Tony. This song is so familiar, I know it from somewhere. First I thought it sounded like 'Dexter's tune' from the soundtrack to Awakenings. But after comparing the two they don't seem to be the same. Anyway, I'll go on racking my brain trying to figure out where I know this song from. Great job!

  • by the way, the sound quality is great, especially when watching in 'high quality'.

  • thanks, Chris. Maybe you watched Maria Haro playing it here on YT? (see my favorites). cheers.

  • sounds great

  • Hi Troubleclef,

as always you are the best

    Bye

    Marco

  • That is a real pleasure to listen to your playing. Thanks.

  • I first heard Arthur's album on a trip to NY in 1974. Thanks to you for re-introducing me to his wonderful music, no one does Arthur like Tony! BTW, Arthur's myspace page list a show on 03/15/09 in L.A., Cali.

  • Cool. Maybe he'll come over east too. That early album is fantastic, isn't it? Every time I work on one of his pieces, I have to pull out my cd and listen to "Caboclo" and especially "Na Boca do Sol" which just kills me. Really the whole album is amazing.

  • I'm so jealous, only one show so far at the Harriet and Charles Luckman Fine Arts Complex - 8.00 pm. Fantastic says it all. It would great to hear him do the whole album live.

  • I like those slow intimate tune so much. And you are able to let those notes perl so well with beautiful intonation and sound. Tony, I followed your style to a new hybrid nylon guitar. Not in that high quality then yours but its such an easy playing. You can reach every register (cutaway) and its easy to change between steel and nylon because of the narrower neck. I can't get my hands off it. Maybe you can see in further uploads.

    Thanks for this 5***** beauty,

    Bernd

  • thanks, Bernd. I will check for it. Who made it?

  • It's a Breedlove Atlas AN250/CR.

  • Sounds good, but why not mic it twice for stereo?

  • Listen in high quality for stereo.

  • Beautiful! Thanks to Ron for sharing this my way:)

  • wonderful, thanks for sharing.

  • first of all ..congratulations as usual for your beautiful playing...but regarding the change of recording concept i've some doubts about the rendition..comparing this one with your version of abertura, here i noticed a sound too much clear, with a continuous woosh(is it the right word? )..while in abertura the sound is warmer, and more balanced..sorry..hope i didn't let you down, tony. :-)..by the way, thanks for letting me discover this interesting brazilian composer..

  • thanks. Abertura was recorded a long while back with a little Logitech usb mic made for video conferencing! Back then, I just recorded directly into Windows movie maker. The clips from that era sound better, because there's no potential to make the audio sound Really Good (or really bad for that matter).

Ever since switching to the AT mic, I hear the constant whooshing too, but It's some sort of YT post-processing that causes it. The source clip doesn't sound like that on my pc.

  • I think, perhaps, it has to do with YT's wma to mp3 conversion: if your original source file is wma it might be better to change it to mp3 then render the file "HQ video large". The WMV audio will now have been converted to mp3 audio, so there wouldn't be any conversion for YT to make.

Love your music Tony! many ********S

    Cheers

    Walt

  • btw when I first started recording I worked with an AT3035, but after seeing your stuff I bought the Logitech "Noodle" mic. It sat unused...then I bought AT 4040. Now, I'm trying "the noodle" and would you know I like that little bugger!

  • thanks, Walt. that sounds like a plan. i'll give it a whirl next time.

  • Lovely Tony..cheers

  • Nice and peaceful piece. Thanks troubleclef.

  • please:siga asi.

  • Magnificent!!!!!

  • Hi, really good sound. I like it very much. Nice piece of music and as always beatifully played. My stars for you!*****

    Cheers

    Hansel

  • real nice T!

  • It's really great, and so is your way to improve your audio - good description of it.

I use Audacity, as well, and then I add the track to windows media player live , FYI :)

    Thanks for sharing. 5 *****

  • *Windows Live Movie Maker, that is*

  • simplemente hermoso explendid i love it

  • high quality is the best. Excellent as always. Never stop posting.

  • This one is coming over to me with more top end than your two previous pieces. Is it closer to the sound you are striving for?

    Beautifully played, as ever.

  • Beautiful Tony, I like your stereo sound too, it gives me an idea to work with a delay panning, I'll also experiment with that, your sound is nice and spacious this way, and the Music superb, beautiful composition, a nice serene woman, that's for sure, greets Vic.

  • A beautiful song !

  • Always a Pleasure to listen to you play ,

    Toodle pip

  • I couldn't agree more

  • You really do have a magic touch. Thanks for working so hard to continue to put out beautiful music--I know I appreciate it greatly. It's nice to rely on troubleclef uploading something sweet so often.

  • todays a rough day for the tube. My vids got choppy today. I hate that. It takes away from the show some-especially the comedy. But your music shines through. Gosh thanks for the beautifull morn. music.Always a pleasure, your fan M.O.M.

  • There it is! So uploading went well on your side of the world?

Great video. The sound is fabulous. But I never thought your sound was bad. Great piece, too. It's hard to play slowly and still keep it interesting. But you did it!

    Best,

    Jo

  • Yes, sorry to hear of the slowness over there. Just one of those occasional freaks I guess. I didn't see your new thing as it must still be processing (or was 10-15 minutes ago when i looked)

Glad you like it. I just can't get happy with the sound. Still trying...
