The model is more appealing, it is simpler and more predictable than natural reality; it was designed to be that way so that we could better make sense of natural reality, that's what models do. It takes so much longer in perceived time for it to arrive if I am always looking at my watch and around the corner. If I just relaxed, time seems to go quicker. Putting your faith in physical money as a store of wealth is the same thing as putting your faith in owning a firearm for protection and storing food for emergency.
The alternative is reliance on a system where paper money is backed by force and the force is paid with paper money, in other words a self defeating system that does not care about your survival.
