i have a question is it ok for a 13 year old to have a grey african with her evnery single day and even sleep her the bird ona pillow(sharing a pillow)
@Drago2880 It is very dangerous to allow a bird to sleep in a bed. In a deep sleep one could easily roll over on the bird and smother it, it is too small to struggle free. It could also get entangled in the bedcovers or become trapped between the bed and the wall, etc. As far as being with her all the time, make sure the bird does socialize with other people or it could become over bonded to her, and become aggressive to everyone else.
Oh my gosh he is so cute!! He is so cool!! I have an African grey too and he talks like crazy!! He even swears and even drops the f bomb every once in a while he is crazy!! I have a video on my channel of him that u can check out! He doesn't do much but he is still really cool
Please tell me is it hard to keep a African Grey??? And is it ok to keep it in my room with its cage? because i have nowhere else to put it because i live in a 2 bedroom apartment and im 14 years old.
@bilaremix I'm sorry to say, an African Grey would be a very poor choice of pet for a 14 year old. They require a LOT of attention and training to keep them tame and happy and they live for a very long time (30-40 years or more). You also would be very unhappy with a cage in your room because parrots are very loud and very messy. Also if you live in an apartment you would probably have the neighbors complaining about the noise. Continued...
@bilaremix But maybe one day when you're grown and have a house, and do lots of research on how to take good care of them, you may decide a parrot would be a good pet for you. I'll be honest though, Naya is really fun and beautiful but she is a lot of work and even though she loves me she can bite really hard LOL :-)
I had 3 birds. 2 Cockatiels and 1 Budgie you can see them on my channel :)
I have had budgies, cockatiels and lovebirds but ive never had a african grey and they look cool, but im not sure if I should buy one :/ What to you think??? and i also know how to clip birds wings and file they'r beaks :)
@bilaremix im 15 and i don't have an african grey but my mom does ... i have 14 birds. and when i was 8 years old my mom rescued my bird i have shes a red lore amazon. shes a wonderful bird. i do agree with wnibeck they are noisy at times like when they need food or just want attention. if your going to get a bird for a 14 year old who has never had a bird or pet expieience then i recommend a cockatail, parakeet,or love bird. but make sure if you find a breeder.continued...
@bilaremix dont buy any bird from a national know pet store ( petsmart,petco..etc.) just make sure you look at young birds maybe still in their eggs and if they are open then set a bid on it alsom make sure if you do decide to buy a bird dont use teflon pans because they set off toxic fumes that will kill the birds
@TheMkBroadcast I also have a Senegal parrot and he's the same way, I never could get him used to playing with a towel. I feel so bad when it's time to trim his nails, he screeches the whole time he's in the towel but I have to use it, because boy does he pack a bite.
@luvinoldcountry She is a saying a few things in this video (hello, Hi Naya, peekaboo) but a lot of that talking is me. Greys usually don't start really talking until about one year of age. Sometimes they will say a few things before that and sometimes not, so don't worry. Naya is 15 months old now and won't shut up LOL!
