  • Hatalmas,egetrengető basszus!Köszönöm Boris Chritoff Attiláját!

  • Grandissimo ed immortale!

  • Im so emotineel now whow ...

  • Would it be possible to post the rest as well ?

  • Excellent diction !!! More than excellent in fact.

  • Musashitzu he never sang in the MET due to some political stupidity and proud, he is the best ever

  • Christoff , una legenda ! Immortale ! Grazie !

  • Atila was a Bulgarian HAN and only the greatest bulgarian bass can truely describe him as a character!

  • Both Christoff and Ramey have wonderful versions of this aria but they portray different character's. Ramey's Attila is a young ambitious warlord just into his prime while Christoff gives a the listener a look into the trully terrifying mind of a battle hardened conquerer.

  • yes my dear it is fully true, listen to the Zaccaria's of both in Nabucco

  • @raigekimaru dal vivo Boris Christoff era un vero basso.

Dal vivo Ramey aveva voce più chiara di quella di Paolo Coni...

Ramei aveva la voce del baritono Rossiniano.

  • Bravo Christoff! What a majestic voice and thoughtful interpretation.

  • straodianrio grande Christoff per sempre....

  • I am still looking for words.... DIVINE!!!!

  • Genial!

  • Thanks for the information on a bass I really think is extraordinary. I did not realize he had studied with Stracciari, one of my favorite baritones. I was aware of his difficulties with colleagues--a good Corelli story on that one.

  • lol, yeah, didnt he charge Corelli with a sword or something?

  • @MusashiTzu corelli draw a sword against christoff

  • If you don't mind, I'm quite interested about hearing stories about Christoff and his colleagues. I've only heard about his Callas and Ghiaurov stuff. Are there any others? What's that about Corelli?

I would be grateful if someone enlightens me. :)

  • This is a well-known incident because it made the papers when Corelli and Christoff were rehearsing for a January performance of "Don Carlo" in Rome. There was already bad blood between them apparently (why? uncertain although there are theories) Corelli refused to greet him at the beginning of rehearsals; Christoff made a mock swordfight into a real attack and Corelli defended himself. Christoff walked out of his contract. For more contact me at sospello.

  • That was January of 1958.
