i was sent to watch this video and from looking at other related videos i was inspired to buy david ickes book and in it he says ' In the 1930s American and Australian servicemen landed their planes in New Guinea to drop suppliesto troops and the locals who had never seen a plane believed the servicemen were gods and they became a focus of religous beliefs'

what is your point with this upload? i do know what the footage shows. it is from a tribe somewhere on an isle in the pacific whom had little to none contact with the out side world until america made use of the isle as an airbase in WW2. in doing so they also brought riches to the natives beyond their believes, like corned beef. aft the war with americans gone , natives start building puppets and planes and a whole new religion was started hoping the "gods"would return again in their birds
Yes, I believe the term for this phenomenon is "cargo cult". When black people in the Pacific Islands first saw the white man flying in airplanes, they were blown away. They figured the white man was magic.
By building crude replicas of airplanes and control towers (complete with walkie talkies made out of coconuts) they believed the Gods would return with more gifts.
