Back in my first days of playing, I didn't know if animals could die, and so I deprived a poor sheep of food, it got sick and nothing happened. Then a year later I went to check on it and it was still alive, I even used a tool but nothing ever happened, not even this cutscene with Hank using medicine.

Yes, very! *switches into advertisement mode* Anything from the Harvest Moon series is worth trying, depending on what console you'd like them for - there are several available, varying in graphic styles, characters, and plotlines. They're life simulations based on the central concept of building up a ranch (crops, animals, etc) and improving the town in some way, but one of the most interesting / popular features is the ability to befriend and marry the villagers, and possibly having kids.

*continued* ... I recommend the series because there are nearly unlimited personal goals that you can attempt to accomplish that will rarely let you get bored. This particular game is called Harvest Moon: Magical Melody (for the GameCube, at least in the U.S.), and is dated enough for you to probably find it for a reasonable price. Save before going to sleep, the next day check your animals affection, if anyone is sick, reload the game and go to sleep again. Easy lol. Only for the cursed tool.

Yeah, totally on purpose, because (THANKFULLY) none of my characters nor those of anyone I know (except, uh, you, Karinrocks, huh? xD man, that sucks, hope it doesn't happen again!) have actually done it. It was actually HARD getting this sheep to hate poor Robyn. O_o So yeah, don't do it, people!!
