This is about what was popular during the year 1980, not what when it was created. If that were the case, then Michael Jackson should not be on here since the "Off The Wall" album was recorded and released in 1979. And the first two singles were released in the summer and fall of 79.

But again, they were hits in 1980. And you can't deny "The Wall" as it dominated 1980 and beyond!
