Camchain? Specialists: the SP1 has a sprocket driven cam distribution. However, Honda's are build to last. My (normal maintained) Honda fireblade ran 80.000 mls without any trouble!

On modern engines there's practically no wear in the cylinders and as long as there's oil pressure there's no metal/metal contact which is the only possible way doing this would damage the engine. So you can warm a bike up like this for it's entire life and not see any damage, when was the last time you heard of a modern bike needing a rebore due to cylinder wear?? Never. That's when.

It's how I warm up my bikes, if there's no one around to get pissed off.

You are correct about your modern engine bit. But, if you understand how valves, cams and cam chains work, then you'd soon realise that this is putting unnecessary strain on the cam chain. Quick snaps of on/off throttle will prematurely stretch your cam chain and will cause knocking sounds inside your cam cover. Also, when you warm a bike from cold, make sure the oil has dispersed itself through out the bike at least once before doing your wanky retarded, wannabe motogp racing warm up.

Yeah it puts unnecessary strain on the cam chain and all that crap if you do it every day for like a month. The engine goes through way worse abuse than this when the bike is in motion. It has to deal with the revs and the strain from the transmission too. I'm not condoning revving your bike to the rev limiter, but this little bit that he did did not hurt the bike. You obviously don't have a bike because you didn't get the point of the video.

Hang on mate, I've got an 05 R1 so don't be talking to me like i'm stupid. Let's also consider that i've probably been riding considerably longer than you have and that the point of this video was to listen to the bike. Fair enough, but the rev rev rev rev rev rev is just pointless and you really don't get to hear the deep thud of the engine as it winds it's way round. A worn cam chain would jump a tooth easier when you do this than just when you're riding!!!!!!!

Yeah maybe a cam chain that has a worn out adjuster and no manual cam chain tensioner on it! Just from revving a maintained motor which from the sound of it this one is it will not hurt it at all. If he sat there with it against the limiter for like 10 seconds then yeah I would agree with you on this. What I do agree with is that engines in general do sound better when they are under a load, so this guy should post some videos of just that.

Here's a tip, I loved the exhaust but you annoyed me with the constant throttling. Just do it a few times and thats it. Constant throttling makes you look like a squid that every kid with a new bike does.
