  • cant wait to try these out in the gym!

  • Rener's seems faster. I'd go with that but it does come at a higher consequence if you miss it.

  • ryron's sick in the head...like me...so that's why I like his better

  • i think ryron's is better because it seems more efficient.if you do rener's and go for belly down then you could be fighting strength vs strength.

  • LOL the end "that wasnt sick" their sibling rivalry is so funny

  • Yeah these guys are the best. If I get stationed in L.A. I'm definitely coming to the Academy.

  • I like ryron's more

  • What an Awesome combo. These 2 brothers have become an inspiration in my life.

  • Ryrons works better for me

  • Both a genius and beautiful ideas!! GJJ!!

  • 2 people watching this video have had their arms broken by Ryron Gracie.

  • @navsquid32 Hahahahahaha !! Nice.

  • Both variations are great!

  • you guys are fuken awesome good ass teachers

  • Mine's soo sick...hahaha...these guys are awesome

  • ryrons version is very sick and incredible, but reners version is the way to go! :D

  • so smooth

  • I think the swich armbar is the cool one, but let's not underestimate Rener's armbar ! So guys amazing armbar variation:X

  • i like how these guys mess around with who's move is better but either way both are sick

  • is the blue GI for sale?

  • Like Bruce Lee said, humans have 2 legs and 2 arms, use them to their limitless limits.

  • LOL @ the end subtle argument

  • switch is genius! I didn't think of a hip turn, I was trying to ponder how the feet would move lol

  • These explain shit amazing

  • You guys are geniuses. One thing I noticed,,,in the first armlock switch, about half way through it if the opponent tries something sneaky or maybe just for diversion a kimura is readily available, maybe even enough to finish the fight without completing the armlock switch...and by the way, I like the first finish better...lol...sorry

  • Lol brotherhood rivalry! Rener and Ryron are pretty funny man. 5 stars or thumb up or whatever for that sick NINJA ROLL end lol.

  • to me it looks like if the guy is on his back Ryron is the move and if he is turned in to you then Rener's is the movie

  • lol! he is using words of his own :P "Grandmasterage" :P

  • i got the gracie conbatives over a year ago, and just CANT afford 2 send in my vidz 2 try 4 my blue belt

  • I dislike this video by mistake sorry ..

  • @marwouan click like and it'll fix it

i did the same thing :)

  • I used to be one of those dicks that talked shit about GJJ. But that was only because I was ignorant to them. As soon as I seen a Roger Gracie vid I was hooked.

  • I love the ending where Rener says, "...hopefully mine wins" and just rolls away and Reyron says, "That wasn't sick...that wasn't sick." Hahaha. Oh, man, I love you guys. You guys are hilarious.

  • cool vid.-give these two guys a tv show.lol.

  • My votes with Ryron.

  • These two are really funny..

I like the way they train together...

    Plus very nice techniques...

  • All Jiu-Jitsu practitioners should know the Gracie family at least on helio side of the family. Just my opinion!

  • hahahahaaa love this video guys!!! love the brotherly comp. just like me and my bros!!! keep up the good work

  • great technique guys. the 2nd arm bar works better for me :-)

  • Wicked variations!!! Nice...very nice!!!

  • thumbs up if Eve Torres got you here(:

  • Forget to take a shower???

  • "Mine is more grandmaster ish"-Rener, WORD!lol. I like Rener's because I never seen an armlock transition like that. Ryron's is more common, and looks sick as well. BUt yeah I vote for Rener's!

  • @lyricallyundefined I totaly agree :D i like reners the most also beacuse we need to keep it real :D we need to be more efficient ;)

  • the guy with the white gi talks so fast

  • Very nice.

  • both ryron and rener are class acts and excellent instructors!!

  • dude... does it REALLY kill swine flu?

  • lmao sik techniques... great humor...

  • I have watched hundreds and hundreds of instructionals from every group and the Gracie combative course and these two instructors is the BEST by far. They have made me believers in Gracie Jujistu.

  • @keeyat rener was made to coach

  • @keeyat how can you afford to buy the techniques from the gracie combative course?:P

  • Optimo. Muito Obrigado

  • nice

  • lol I love how he just rolls out of the picture at the end! c ya

  • Wow men really thank you for that techniques i will put lots of training time to them.

  • Muy buena tecnica

  • Awesome techiques!! Both of them :)

  • well technique number one is for when you can't take that arm then your forced to take the other. Technique number 2 is like for when the elbow slips or they're trying to escape. All that talk about who's is better or more efficient is totally irrelevant.

  • If i could i would claim rigts to Ryrons'... iv been using it for a while now, i just had the idea whilst sparring! definitely sickk... sorry Rener! :D

  • sick armlock finishes O_O

  • armbar 1 i use alot..2 is sick but ones sickerr

    good job guys

  • maan ralek had the oportunity to use rener's armbar on sakuraba at the end of round 3 ! amaziiiing.

  • Now thats unconvential warfare. Those guys are great instructors. Seem like genuine nice guys. If it wasn't for the Gracie family Jiu-jitsu would not b where it is today. Thank you Helio !

  • well here is the thing with these moves. First of all the way to defend and start to escape an armbar would be to cross your arms as they are doing then opposite arm the they attack would be fed undernear the leg holding the head down and not accessible to be broken. Calve crushers would be your best bet or even better going to full mount. Great moves to pull off on a newbie but not at blk belt level

  • BOTH are very efficient and very useful to know

    thanks a bunch =)

  • i love bjj... i study every technique....and armlocks are SICK!!!

  • If anybody doubts how effective this whole system is. Just open your mind a little, and take the time to learn some of it and try it out next time you are rolling with a friend at practice. Its not the best complete fighting system, but as far as an excellent self defense system for smaller individuals, it really works, and is easily complimented with mma skills to be a tuff to beat package.

  • Sick Coachie

  • Great Video THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD!.

    very clean move!

  • They are great instructors maybe the best when it comes to explaining details. Brazilian Jiujitsu is not MMA that was prover over and over again. The way to counter this tech is to elbow escape the foot when he spins on the other side to arm lock. You have to do it before he crosses his legs and feed it between your legs and escape. Like I said this low percentage.

  • Informative, and funny. This is the new breed of Gracie boys! Best instuctors, hands down.

  • @ipyonoti And all of kosen judo can be traced somewhere else ... what's the fucking point?

  • @MrMZaccone True..

  • I cant believe anyone would critique these guys. Try walking into their academy and tell them its low precentage. I use these techniques in my daily warm up drills and use them often while sparring with great success. Just drill it!!!

  • @44apw44

lol they know these are low percentage against other black belts.

There are levels and at the black belt level an armlock alone is low percentage yet alone taking weight off and spinning to the other side. As soon as you uncross the feet you will loose them.

  • classic comedic timing, superb moves. Thanks guys

  • hahaha you guys are good guys! :)

  • Love you guys! Make learning this technique super easy, They are both sick and Reners does come as a surprise.

  • I really like the first move a lot but teh second one is new too me i will try It out for sure. U guys crack me up keep the vids coming.

  • @matrat2006

there are other moves you can do to get the bar with out having to take off the weight or expose your self to an escape. As soon as you peal off the opposite arm you can fall back with it straighting it out the other arm thatyou would brake is now eazy to straighten out, combined with a bicept lock.

  • @ 1lostinspace Yeah I agree bout the fact there are other ways to retrive the arm. But that dosent make this move low percentage. As for taking the weight off there is a sure fire way to prevent the escape when u make the hip transition its a little something Royler does with this move. Not sure if Im getting the grip break your describing do u have a vid link? sounds good id like to see. Bicep lock it top move shame its illegal in comp : (

  • uncrossing your legs will result in loosing position. I try to almost reverse armbar the arm that is holding my leg, when you fight that arm there is nothing left for him to keep the other arm from been straightened out. The second move if would work if he did not bridge hard trying to escape, I prefer to mount

  • these are low percentage moves but at their level it's moves like these that work because of surprise!!

  • @1lostinspace I dont find these low percentage at all tbh teh first move I use constantly have done for years still works great.

  • @1lostinspace "low percentage"??? You're laughable.

  • @MrMZaccone

yeah my 16 years experience in MMA is hilarious.

  • @1lostinspace You're right, the likelyhood of that is indeed ... hilarious.

  • @MrMZaccone

    If you only knew

  • @1lostinspace Well geez goober, why don't you tell me? Could it be because you're full of shit? Go get a life.

  • @MrMZaccone

Yeah I am just full of it. You seem to know it all.

  • @1lostinspace Far from it. Why don't you inform me. Who are you and what do you know? What's your history? Who did you study with? How many times have you tried these techniques to determine that they are "low percentage"? What do you prefer in their place? Go ahead, enlighten me.

  • @MrMZaccone

yeah you seem very receptive to what I have to say. When I was at the Gracie academy both of these guy were little kids. I would never go to my back for armbar first of all. In a real fight you get your face smashed going to your back. That's all I am going to say, there are far too many arm bar escapes and ways to counter low percentage crap like this.

  • @1lostinspace They were kids when I was there too but they seem to have grown up into some damn fine instructors. What do either of these techniques have to do with "going to your back"??? When were you at the academy? Maybe I know you.

  • for Ryrons technique. i tried it to grab the far arm like you do but i wasnt able to get control because he was holding it back as well. what do i do in that case

  • On the first technique, if he puts his free hand behind your knee instead of in front of it, is it very likely to work if you try to fight his hand out and then complete the technique?

  • @AndrewOwenWaldo you don't even need to fight his out. Just grab the tricep and do the switch as shown in the video.

  • you both are sick!!! Awsome guys!!! haha

  • @RebelXMMA

    Sweet!

  • I love it! Videos like these have inspired me to keep striving for new techniques to control my opponent as well as my emotional responses, both "externally and internally ".

    Keep the videos coming guys...

    Big "Jon", Rebel X MMA

  • Awesome vids guys. The 2nd one has been great! Both are awesome!

  • hahahaha they are both awesome!!!! you two arguing bout them is funny. great video 5/5

  • on the 1st 1 they wud just use ur technique agenst u cus soon as u get there arm they cud pull therself up and just fukin smash u in face lol

  • "... that wasn't sick..."

lol. i love the brotherly competition. as always guys, keepin' it real. i love it!

  • both were effective!

  • hahah i loves these guys

  • Ryron is a snaaaaakeee

  • You guys are BOTH SICK!!!... And effective! See you soon! Hey can I use the A.B.C. to counter the "sick" armlock? Hmmmm???

  • Reners is nice on the escape but I catch Ryrons more than anything....sorry Rener

  • Gotta say Ryron's works against a resisting opponent MUCH better after rolling for a couple days playing with these.

  • This was a funny as it was effective. Tell me, which do you think is best for working on a bigger opponent?I gotta roll against a guy who has 70 lbs on me (kinda fat) so I think either might work. But Ryrons seems like it might work best since the guy cant react too fast.

  • okay, so what is the ringworm killer stuff? and does it work for the whole time that you are training, say for like a couple of hours straight. i'm needing a good product...

  • damn guys tht was sweet :D, i favorited this one :D, definently love em both lol :D

  • maaad good, bought the combatives dvd set, great set. keep up the good work

  • very nice, I like both actually !

  • the second method is how security officers tend to cuff people that are resting arrest. please try to give us some more ways to perfect these. thank you

  • How's this, drill both at once. Do number 1 when they resist, then have them pull the second elbow down and apply number 2.

  • wow, that's amazing and it takes practice to go as quick as they are and thank you both so much for posting it :-)

  • LOL! "Grandmasterish" is my new favorite word! Thank you Rener and Ryron for all you do!

  • ........this vid is FULL of epic win. pure awesome! :D

  • what type of escapes or reverses r there if ur caught in a kimura/americana and the guys got u in the full mount

  • I love the verbal battle, that's what sick iz.

  • you could also do the "douche bag" (put your foot on his neck)

  • They are both stupidly sick...I would use either..I guess it would depend on the situation

  • Rener kinda freaks me out.

  • Sick!

  • they get paid to advertise that or somthing lol

  • I knew there was a belly down variation from there I've just never seen it. Seen the switch many times. I like that both are instant taps. For me Ryron wins though Rener's technique is amazing but since guys at my gym dont defend with the arm on top there's no I'd hit the belly-down(though i can't physically do either of these moves anyway i wouldn't be able to hit the belly down if i could.) So Ryron wins. Awesome video guys.

  • You guys are awesome ^_^

  • lol u guys cracks me up n @ da sametime teachin me a deadly art... Love it keep it coming

  • nice moves, blows some new life into arm bars :P

  • Is it possible to escape an armbar by lifting the leg closest to your face, over your head, and then leaning inwards?

  • @Petriealright you'd walk right into a triangle. It's best to get a Rear Naked Choke grip with your arm underneath the back of the knee.(They had it on top in the video that solidifies your grip but as you saw that walks you into the belly down armbar which is REALLY BAD) and just come up. There's really no way to stop the switch armlock (Ryron's technique) if they switch you are going to be tapping.

    hope that helps.

  • @bjjartist Thanks for your respense!

However, if you lift the leg over your head, and lean in, you have both arms inside, which puts you right in the guard?

  • @Petriealright In theory that works. However, when you lift the leg off/over your head you no longer have control of it and as we know in BJJ control is EVERYTHING. Any decent blue belt will simply switch their hips thus eliminate the angle you need come straight in(180 degrees) and therefore giving them the angle to lift their leg around your arm to the back of your neck as you come up. You have to understand the armbar arm is not the arm in the triangle it's the other arm that's in the choke

  • wow both are just sick haha love the gracies

  • You are guys the BEST!!!

  • very nice

  • LOL these guys are hilarious... and sick techniques as well

  • The first one is sick, the other one is ill!

  • So nice to watch! They are great teachers

  • these guys are so freakin awesome

    haha

and always sound so freakin excited

  • jaja great proud fight !!....both are good...

    and thats the end..

  • Ryron is so sickkk with it !

  • Rener technique is excellent by the way =)

  • hahaha gotta go with Ryron on this one...lol

  • ps both are sick lol

  • haaha i need that stuff for my gloves and shin pads

    man u should smell those!!!!

  • How does one choose between two solid techniques taught by Jiu-Jitsu immortality?

I'll try these at the Academy and report back. How's that for a P.C. answer!

  • SIIIICK!!!

  • Gracie Jiu Jitsu 4-Life!

    Both Were Sick Guys!

  • i vote for Rener's, but Ryron's is sick.

  • LOL, I enjoyed the brotherly rivalry at the end. Great video guys.
