  • i'm viewer 393,333!!! :-)

  • 13 asshole

  • Somedays i just play Pink Floyd all day and write and paint....The music puts me in the place i need to be....Over there..somewhere else...far from my shelf..left of here..Somedays i wander far from home plate....and my box is empty ....except for a pair of skates..that i put on and follow the sunset...

  • I fucking love Richard Wright, he was such a great artist, but so overshadowed by Barrett, Waters, and Gilmour. May he rest in peace in that Great Gig In The Sky. Him and Syd both.

  • Long live to the early Floyd, with its psychedelic tunes and its low-budget videos recorded in empty street and fruit shops... and still awesome.

  • this is something i have never seen , more tears for richard, a thousand thanks, don't fall dave

  • Been listening to theFloyd for 40 years and never heard this. Found it with the help of Wikipedia. Quite a playlist there.

  • inluv witthis song.

  • nice native young video!very like his music!greatest Pink Floyd!

  • mierda!! como puede tener votos negativos esta canciòn!?

  • syd's influence is huge here.

  • That Rickenbacker always looked so awesome in Roger's hands

  • Now that I think about it, I really wonder what would have happened if Pink Floyd had been dominated by Rick, instead of Roger (and later David) after Syd's departure.

  • recorded in Belgium.. I noticed the atomium in the back.. nice!!

  • žiauriai taško

  • was this recorded in brussels? it looks like the atomium in the background, not that i've ever been there, but i just noticed.

one of pink floyd's best, this one

    RIP syd and richard

  • @r0binl44n Yes 10 years anniversary of the atomium when this clip was made (1958 -1968). Think it is the same day (they are wearing the same clothes) as the "See Emily Play" clip where they are pretending to play cricket

  • thanks for uploading ¡!

  • amazing but tis is david gilmour in the video, not syd...

  • Roger Waters is better.....

  • 13 people need to stop smoking pooky bowls. dambass haterz

  • every pink floyd member has an amazing voice rest in peace rick wright

  • seriously how many times do you open a door to an empty room and forget.

for me it's like every day/week, they were so close to something here.

    love it, LOVE IT.

  • something cool about mono sound.

  • This song has been stuck in my head for a week - good stuff !

  • Sounds like Syd, feels like Syd, but No Syd in the video, I am sad now :(

  • A forgotten classic, LOVE this song. Guys, i made of a cover of this one, check it out: ?v=8rtqpMBaPy4

  • Syd Barret's pink floyd was some of the best...

  • I keep worrying that Gilmour will fall of that wall!

  • I kkep worring that Gilmour will fall off that post!

  • Such a beautiful song, though the content is not about anything all that beautiful......just things to later regret.

  • Man, they are the worst at miming for film, but the absolute best at making music!

  • David Gilmore in this video.

  • They should have give Rick more lead vocals. Interesting addition to the many voices of Pink Floyd.

  • @SenorPabloHerrera Agreed! Wearing the Inside Out is one of my favourite songs, EVER. (:

  • i was addicted to this song a few years ago. it is my favorite of all the early songs

  • i just can't stop listening to this

  • Love the classic and retro footage of the roots of this band. Please keep it coming!

  • "she would like to go out to a show" Looks like Roger bit off Rick lyrically. This proceeds The Wall by a decade

  • great song

  • George Harrison of Pink Floyd

  • Thanks for providing this classic Floyd footage !

  • "Sittin' in da club with so many fools."

  • @DoctorPencilK

    Richard Wright: Original Gangsta

  • Anybody ever notice how the theme music from The Tomorrow People resembles 'Paintbox'...? Then again, The Floyd's 'One Of These Days' is obviously based on the theme music from Doctor Who. And for that matter, 'Paintbox' owes a lot to The Beatles 'A Day In The Life'....

  • i have actually been to the place in Belgium where that was filmed.

Why were they strumming a Fender Telecaster, when the record clearly had acoustic guitars on it?

  • im so fucking high right now

  • IT IS TRUE THAT ALL NARCOMAN goes in hell after life? i will be very bored if i hear that now syd is flaming by devils? od

  • @SydBarrett997

    hahaha oh wow

  • urgh I was born in the completly wrong decade.... I wish i was around with the beatles, pink floyd and queen. ssooo jealous of my dad

  • what ??? its like all their old stuff was horrible until their new stuff came out and it was like wow, Im confused their new stuff sounds nothing like their old stuff

  • Apparently 12 idiots missed the "like" button...

another great song by Richard, noticed all of the songs from him are great...

  • they look good in hats! lol :)

  • This song is my popular gate to YouTube

  • "I open the door to an empty room and I forget .."

    Oh, I love this song

  • Syd was so beautiful!

  • Great song should have been the A side to the clumsy Apples and Oranges.

  • This was the B-side to Syd's awful "Apples and Oranges". This song is so much better. Rick was the band's best vocalist and always seemed to be underrated, compared to Roger, David, and Syd.

  • @hatmap Apples and Oranges is a Masterpiece ! Who else but a really talented person and band could have made it ? ; it is punky, quirky, slapdash and then treats us to this uniquely blended and refined dreamy music structure. A great influence on bands esp. Blur and Bowie. Paint Box IS brilliant too ; i first had it when i bought RELICS as a new release in 1971 for 99p from Richard Bransons' Virgin Records Mail Order ad. in Melody Maker weekly Rock newspaper.I think it was before he had his shop

  • @hatmap I disagree that Rick was the best singer, David Gilmour was easily. Rick was a good backing vocalist but you wouldn't get him singing songs like Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond or Comfortable Numb as good as Dave. Also Apples and Oranges is amazing don't knock it!

  • what a beauty

  • Syd is a babe (;

  • Esta rolita es la pedo, de lo mejor del buen Barrett!

  • @lsdiego1

    es wright...

  • this song is legit

  • Beautiful! I've never heard it before.

  • Sounds nice with some headphones and weed.

  • MORAISITO LUZES - the best...

  • sids High??

  • @wolfen682 syd is not in this video....its gilmour "playing" the guitar.

  • he´s in their somewhere

  • Floyd followed the Beatle's policy of never having single A sides or B sides on albums (at least in U.K), altho' Careful With That Axe (last B side) was on Ummagumma ~ altho' strictly speaking that was part of the 'Live' tracks. Think the first single to break with that policy was "Another Brick in the Wall" Part II from "The Wall".

  • Pozdrowienia z Polski dla fanów Pink Floyd ! Greetings from Poland to all fans of Pink Floyd ! : ))

  • @kingofardania HAY POLE....... LEAVE OUR PIKE ALONE

  • Pozdrowienia z Polski dla wszystkich fanów Pink Floyd. (Nice greetings from Poland) _______________________ I love PINK FLOYD !!!

  • you tube sucks

  • @Johne93003 so do you

  • @ColinoM yeah its a compilation album called relics

  • @ShiftyStealthy One of the first I ever bought of Floyd music because it was still easy to locate on LP and marked for budget sale! Collection of Great Dance Songs was for me, a major disappointment, at that time I so wanted some COOL Floyd material

  • is ths from an album?

  • Great tune! I read somewhere that Paintbox should have been included on the album, Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

  • @Flamingboy100 No it was a single in 1967 the b side to the single apples and oranges.

  • Can't stop listening to this; amazing song!

  • This is like the best Beatles song i ever heard, but Floyd wrote it!!!

  • did syd contributed to recording of the song/video?

  • 60s Pink Floyd is something really special. I like it a lot.

  • I love these songs! There's nothing like this today, sadly.

  • imagine writing a song about the emptiness and superficiality of clubbing and relationships today! Rick makes it sound so poetic.

  • @SuperNevile

    I'm out of tea

I'm tired of you and your superficiality,

my relationship with the five white walls..

let's see what we see when YOUR sanity falls!

no one will ever be so awesome as them..

  • had the re-released piper at the gates of dawn. This was my fav song. Not on the original :(

  • I love how Nick is rocking the pirate shirt, very Seinfeldesque.

  • Wish Syd was in this clip :-(

  • @jwild611 he's stood on the wall playing guitar

  • @trumph650 That is Gilmour

  • brilliant

  • Holy crap, how is this not a more well known early Floyd song? Its beautiful! Did Syd write the lyrics and Rick the music, or did Rick do both?

Interesting that that's David playing even though this appears to only be 67 or 68- I guess Syd was in too bad of shape by now?

  • @whichonespink357 Rick wrote the song entirely. Syd plays on the song but by the time this video was done he'd already been replaced by Gilmour, so it's Gilmour miming to Syd's guitar part. I notice that Gilmour's face is rarely seen - as if the band didn't want to draw attention to Syd being gone.

  • Nothing on The Wall sounded this good. Love early Floyd!

  • Richard Wright is a very grand master writer(he wrote this music)

    I had another drink

    Drink - a - drink - a - drink - a - drink

  • FUCK! This song is so fucking good. R.I.P Barret and Wright.

  • 2:41 see Nick...

  • Brussels with the Atomium in the background. 10th anniversary of the World Fair and the Atomium when this film was made. This song is uniquely Rick Wright, along with "See Saw" 'It Would Be So Nice" and 'Remember A Day'. Unfortunately a B side to a poor Barrett song 'Apples And Oranges', although to be fair to Syd he did want the more interesting Jugland Blues as A side.

  • @SuperNevile Apples and Oranges got two promos, and it was better then Vegetable Man! haha

  • One of the first LPs I bought was the RELICS album, which was not something PF had much say on. I didn't hear Embryo till much later when most of the old archives were raided, then knowing the story of it being recalled since it was never finished

  • @MetallicBill Interestingly, 'Embryo' was released on the Harvest double disk compilation Picnic (a breath of fresh air) in 1970, which also features Syd's 'Terrapin'. It was the only track not allocated to an LP. Relics was released May 1971. Curious mix of tracks on Relics. Had to buy Pink Floyd Masters Of Rock to get the single A and B sides, and even that missed off 'Point Me At The Sky'. Never heard PMATS until Youtube, strange?

  • @SuperNevile EMI released it while the Floyd were on vacation, as stated several sources...for Picnic. I got a tape of Masters of Rock from a Co-worker in the 1980s or 90s....long ago. Point me at the Sky I heard from a CD archive, rather then LP or tape ...before YouTube, thankfully! haha Boots of the Floyd stuff is not too hard to find in the past few years, even decade!

  • @MetallicBill I GOT OVER A THOUSAND GIGS PROMOS OUT TAKES ALL ORG ON VYNAL

  • nick manson looks like hes tripping on acid

  • @SgtPepper9537 at that time they were tripping on all sorts of chemicals not only acid : D

  • last night i had too much to drink, sitting in a club with so many fools, playing the rules.. trying to impress but feeling rather empty i had another drink a drink a drink drink drink drink...., what a way to spend that evening...they all turn up with their friends arriving late but in the scene i should have been....far away......gettin up i felt as im remembering a thing before....i open the door to an empty room then i forge eeeeeeeeeee et.....musical break.....contd...

  • This is amazing! All of them together... Sid & Rick.. We love and miss you...

  • @HilburnMcCormick well Syd isn't in this video, but true.. we do love and miss them!

  • ahh 2 months off the net, had to be first tune i arrived at, thank you sackorats

  • the only band that comes close to this is RADIOHEAD a modern day pink floyd in my mind

  • all these old syd era pink floyd songs are just the best. i wish they were released on a CD all together.....*sigh*

  • pink floyd where never bad.

  • "Remember a Day" is another brilliant song by Richard Wright.

  • in the video gilmour is playing the guitar,, but,, is syd barret´s guitarr

  • @gonzataker Yes, it is a shame that they recorded the promo videos for Apples & Oranges and Paint Box well after Syd was out of the band. In both videos, you've got Dave miming Syd's guitar parts (and in the former, Roger miming to Syd's vocals).

  • I take it Syd Barrett was kicked out of the group by this time.

  • Best floyd tune...this & summer 68....Waters always kept wright at bay......I love waters but he was a douche to wright.....

  • i find it unbelievable that roger waters (whome i adore) didnt rate the late great rick wright !!! he was class !!! what a tune !!!

  • He would have been 67 today. R.I.P. Rick

  • always been one of my fave PF songs - so beautiful.

  • Early Floyd > Later Floyd ... and this song is no exception.

  • @Jurassicprince all floyd > everything in existance

  • wright wrote this song

  • WOW! I love it! Rick is soooooo freaking cute in this clip.

  • I love me a good composed song like this.

  • great vocal by Richard

  • I would go so far as to say that this was one of Floyd's best songs. Wright was very underated.

  • I don't mind this, it's pleasant enough, captures the spirit of the age etc. It is also substandard imitation Barrett fodder. Fortunately for them, they could and would do better.

  • I'm sorry to say there is no Syd in this clip, I think he was already on his way to the beautiful place he would arrive in.

  • love the way syd used to write the lyrics...so simple and straightforward..

  • @Beeeefheart rick wrote this

  • @pageynumbert2 oh..thanks for the info!

  • So freaking Groovy. My kind of music. So glad to have this footage.

  • great song Thanx Rick !

  • Sem comentários...muito bom...

  • Sem comentários...

  • how old is this video?

  • @beelzebub1234

    42. It was shot in February 1968, in Brussels.

  • @beelzebub1234 February 18 or 19, 1968

  • Richard Wright is a legend, Pink floyd is a musical enigma ... the start of psychedelia, and the begging of Progressive Rock

  • Richard Wright was such a handsome young man. Great tune; my favourite off of Relics

  • My oppinion is that Radiohead are trying to copy Pink Floyd so much that they are really boring...it is obviously, don't you think?I mean there is one Pink Floyd

  • guitars are unplugged, drums are all wrong..

    it doesn't matter (:

  • @Nycago It also looks like there are no strings on Davids Guitar.

  • @bbca111 i dont think gilmore was even in the band then

  • @cincykid421 Gilmours in this vid because they made this music video after Syd left

  • genius

  • 56dinosaur, I don't believe simply because Nick is not miming the song exactly as recorded implies he was not the drummer on the track. Keith Moon never played the same thing the same way twice, and this was the late 60s after all ;-). If you've ever seen Pink Floyd at Pompeii, you know that Nick could/did play a very similar style to this, not to mention the overrall drum sound is very similar. Why do you believe Norman played on those tracks? If there's other evidence, please share.

  • R.I.P.Mr. Wright, thanks for 'remember a day' among this sing and other great tunes

  • pretty sure that's Gilmore up on the ledge

  • @ragingbull888 who else? and he was in danger of falling down. They wanted to loose the substitute too

  • the drums in this song are superb.

  • thanks for the video

  • ya i have always liked this song ever since hearing it on relics on cassette! When I was all baked it was a song i had to listen to and not just veg out. Rick should've written and sang more.

  • God I love the thing they do at 1:09

  • ricky was the closest to syd

  • @overban888 roger grew up with him you muppet. met when they where 9

  • Dude. I would very much like to go to a show with Rick, too xD <3

  • Watch the new video about Pink Floyd:

    [Youtube] /watch?v=umPJZMs_2XE

  • It is likely, that as with another early Rick Wright song("Remember A Day") that the drumming was by producer Norman Smith. Note that Nick Mason can't successfully mime to the drumming on this track. R.I.P. Rick Wright & Norman Smith.

  • Richard Wright has always been a romantic :-)

  • this people think he's syd :D

  • rick was a good boy! just like syd!!!!! yeahhhh

  • I have always favored Rick's music.

  • Classic stuff, and an underrated song.

  • Fabulous song.
