  • motherofgod.jpg

  • 0:49

just imagine this playing when you see a blue waffle

  • If you want to hear something that almost certainly inspired this piece, check out Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima by Penderecki and learn what terror is.

  • @FrauofGermany or Penderecki's "Polymorphia"

  • great

  • there wasent any dialog for the first half of the movie, just this music, dam good choice to. brought out something disterbingin side me i think

  • This song freaks my girlfriend out so much. Nah... I don't really have a girlfriend :(

  • @MrTimeControl not anymore you dont.

  • This song plays when i enter a room

  • Maman a décongèle.

  • RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD. RADIOHEAD.

  • Heeere's Johnny! Greenwood.

  • Can't believe this was composed by the guitarist who helped made "Creep" @_@

  • @FloydIV Right... cause the whole band of Radiohead and their wide range of compositions and musical innovations pretty much make them "that band that did creep"?

  • @astralacuity Please pussy. I got all their albums. Fucking uptight radiohead fans -_-

  • @FloydIV lolumad

  • @FloydIV Radiohead have written over 150 songs, go and listen to the others before you judge a band by their most publicly favored piece. 'Creep' is from Pablo Honey, their first 'proper' album as Radiohead

  • @tardzillamovies Don't be so insecure

  • @tardzillamovies When you were here before, I was drillin' for that oil :)

  • @FloydIV thats probably because you've only heard creep.

  • @sdca4life hahahaha thanks Loy, you both made me laugh and made a valid point, an utter truism. Radiohead?? HAHAHA oh God it is funny :)

  • @FloydIV Dude!! I jolly well hope you've listened to more Radiohead songs than little ol Creep! You are missing OUT! -if that's the case. Good musical travels to you, go and explore!! Radiohead are the god of music. They kick serious sweet ass. That's all I can say it's up to you now

  • This soundtrack is seriously the most incredible I have ever laid ears on.

  • That's a very good point of view.

  • killer tracks!

  • AAAh this is why it was such a brilliant "out of time" "out of this world"-type of film...

    Scorpio genius...

    I get it now...

Go Greenwood :-) And thank you for sharing your gift :-)

  • What happened to soundtracks that weren't "SAFE". Danny Elfman, Bernard Hermann, Johann Johannsson, Jerry Goldsmith, Michael Giacchino always push the boundaries of film composition. Im so glad Jonny Greenwood gets that because this is so grotesque, yet a graceful chaotic. its hard to explain but i love it

  • @Asuhix oh my god yes you are RIGHT!!!! ive spent the past few days studying horor movie soundtracks...u can imagine how THIS one makes me feel, heeheehee...

  • i listen to this when i feel down to lift my mood

  • @cheeseybred what, lift it from the depths of hell into the remnants of a nuclear blast or something?

  • Now I know who wears the pants in radiohead

  • And the bees swarm for their queen

  • @temporarylikealonso jonny greenwood may drink my milkshake but DDL can take my property my oil my wife and then he'll take the milkshake away from greenwood

  • I drink your milkshake!

  • Where is the track with the weird polyrhymic percussion?

  • @Tengent i think you are looking for convergence

  • @thedeathly That's it! Thanks.

  • BASTARD IN A BASKET

  • @Pozos88 yeah it does, minus the weird indian chanting lol

  • I can see where Radiohead's songs of darkness comes from.

  • I ABANDONED MY CHILD!!---great scene by DDL.

  • genious

  • "my straw reaches accrrrroooossss the room"

  • Nietzsche once said that music was the purest expression of art, and that all other art was just based off of music. Without music, the dramatic value of an artistic piece is lost.

  • @pyramidheadkitten9 i think that's because music is the only form of art that can both invoke and dictate emotion....like when you heart starts to pound in sync with a drum beat. it raises you up and brings you down.

other types or art can do that as well, but to a lesser degree.

  • @pyramidheadkitten9

I think Nietzsche didn't say "off of". That's the fault of Radio One.

  • i'm finished!

  • " I like to think of myself as an oilman."

  • I... drink... your... MILKSHAKE! I DRINK IT UP!

  • Rock n' Rollers can do anything.

  • Jonny Greenwood is a freaking genious

  • Its like Bugs having orgies.

  • @aeioulul You mean when someone else masturbates to Hitler's pics? Dude that fucker is dead long time ago, thank god. now please no more hitler comments, more music reviewing

  • @aeioulul hahahahaha I can't stop laughing....hahahahahaha

  • @aeioulul

    hardy ha ha

  • @aeioulul Hitler was impotent.Didn't you know that?

  • @alibaba1341 Doesnt mean he couldnt have some fun with himself.

  • @aeioulul Wow an original comment

  • @aeioulul AUGH! Now I can't get that image out of my head!

  • @aeioulul I wonder to what exactly he did such a thing. Or for that matter, what was his beef with those crazy Jews?

  • Comment removed

  • @aeioulul sooooooooooooooooooo true

  • 3 people will be bullied by Daniel and there will be blood this time!

  • @SuperRod88 stfu thumb whore

  • @iceguy0077 ahhh NO!

  • 3 people had their milkshakes dranken

  • Its like being inside the mind of a madman. Beethoven on steroids

  • Hahaha, what tripped me out is that the score matched their argument.

  • Wow. Can't believe people are argueing over nothing when they could be complimenting on how amazing this soundtrack is.

  • i really didn't like this movie's soundtrack, didn't help the movie at all and was distracting. if it wasn't by JG it'd be forgotten.

  • @theBeorn as bad as i hate to admit it i didnt like it either

  • @theBeorn i think it build the film up and put in light certain aspects..i would have expected the music to be different too, but that would have been about the same old shit.. instead THIS is great because it's unexpected.. me, i call it genious

  • Can anyone say the name of the music piece on There Will Be Blood where Daniel and Henry are on the beach?

  • There Will Be Blood felt like a horror movie, thanks to Greenwood..

  • There will be Jonny Greenwood, and he will be awesome.

  • Superb sound track - the movie is a masterpiece!!!!!

  • I think the strings could have played this with a little more umph! A little grit and over exaggeration goes a long way with expression.

  • @saladshootavvv Please Please have a crack at writing a movie soundtrack. Then post it up on here as I reckon your version would be way better than Johnny's. Better still re-write Johnnys stuff with notes in the margins telling him what he is doing wrong and what needs more work. Ive been thinking for years I wish that Johnny Greenwood would get some assistance. He is very promising but tsk tsk, he could do with some lessons in writing a tune or two. - 'A little more umph!' You sir are visionary

  • @thedukeofrosco Are you fucking kidding me with your snobbery and idiocy? I think the score is good you jackass. First of all I DO write music and I HAVE written movie scores. Secondly I think this score is probably the best film score of the past 20 years. Thirdly why would you assume I'm some musical conservative that needs a "tune" when I merely commented on the performance of his work? Get over yourself and how about YOU try to write some music instead of halfway reading youtube comments.

  • @saladshootavvv AHHAHA! Man that was completely worth typing out! Absolute gold!

  • @thedukeofrosco What are you, some idiot that opens your mouth too soon and then realizes how dumb you are so you try to pass yourself off as a troll? Please, even by troll standards you suck.

  • @saladshootavvv Open my mouth too soon? Nah I dont think so. Seems right on the button to me. Not trolling just pointing out if you post up contrived drivel someone will pull you up on it. Needs more umph! If I had written that i would...the time signature is clearly...the legato I found was lacking some...Johnny's phrasing there was a little...Yawn. Who cares what you think he should have done. I mean you have large testicles obviously. Giving top tips to an acomplished artist?!! More cowbell?

  • @thedukeofrosco AGAIN you DIDN'T read what I wrote. I DIDN'T comment on the composition, ONLY the PERFORMANCE. There is a difference shit for brains

  • @saladshootavvv All of the examples I gave can be applied to both performance and composition. You and I both know that. Of course youre not going to admit youre a cunt. I can only imagine its perfectly natural to deny it with your whole being. Anyhoo this is going around in circles and I have way better things to do. No doubt you just wont be able to resist another post in denial. Hope I see you on another clip. I dont know maybe telling Al Pacino his acting is good but needs to speak up a bit

  • @thedukeofrosco Wow, ignorant and arrogant beyond belief. If someone were to say, "That Rite of Spring performance was good but the strings could have had a little more umph" NO ONE would assume that that person meant that Stravinsky could have done a better job on the piece. Where do you get off telling me what I think? Not to mention, my original comment was as clear as a fucking bell. Get over it, get over yourself, and fuck off.

  • @saladshootavvv dont worry....youll get over it

  • i guess two dudes missed the like button.

  • Jonny Greenwood is the coolest cat ever.

  • I had no idea Greenwood has "THIS" in him. He must be givin trillions of dollars for his music RIGHT NOW

  • All hail Jonny Greenwood.

  • Amazing. The soundtrack fits the movie perfectly. The movie was good, but it was kind of slow.

  • Only Jonny's ethereal imagination could have produced such a chilling and haunting soundtrack, one which perfectly fits this film.

  • @zskater11 Unrelated question: are you British?

  • Nightmares tonight, from this beast.

  • Probably the second greatest film of the decade. Like, honestly, no bullshit.

  • @windrix1 whats the 1st

  • @windrix1

whats the best film of the decade then?

  • @toby099 spirated away

  • @windrix1 What's the greatest?

  • This movie isn't even a thriller, but the score kept me on edge and unsettled from beginning to end.

  • such a fucking class film. Daniel day lewis is amazing in this

  • It's a shame that this music was featured in Bodysong making it ineligible for an Oscar because it really deserved to be nominated.

  • God, do not listen to this piece in the middle of the night, with no one around you. It's fucking unsettling. Johnny Greenwood did one hell of a job, that's for sure.

  • Just watched the movie for about the 300th time. God, if you listen to the arrangements, Jonny creates tension and then lets it flow over to the next scene. Is there anything he cant do?

  • It is absolutely unbelievable that he wasn't nominated for an Oscar for this

  • @youmustlogin He was disqualified because he sampled something he made like a year before he did this. He woulda won though.

  • one of the only true masterpieces of the noughties

  • This was truly the Best Picture, No Country was good, but this is one of the greatest films ever made.

  • @Jadabh3: "Adds a level of commentary in the comparison too as an indictment of Plainview's ethos."

    Explain that sentence to me.

  • @thefat857 he aint nothing but an animal. He's a savage. Competition has left him in the primordial

  • @everyone please stop, just enjoy this work of art

  • One of the greatest film scores ever

  • @SpartnPride

    i hav 2 disagree.

  • you slithered out of your mother's filth

  • I DRINK IT UP

  • I DRINK YOUUURR MIIIILKSHAKE

  • Draiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinage!

  • i have a competition in me. I want no one else to suceed

  • love that line! it is such a brilliant film !

  • Gives me the goosebumps every single time!

  • i just got goosebumps

  • milkshake anyone?

  • DON'T BULLY ME DANIEL!

  • this isn't a song yo, its a piece. check it

  • Chilling movie. Instant classic.

  • good song, but kinda hard for me to listen to honestly. just the tension of it. goes so well with the film

  • yea, I won't be surprised if Greenwood has listened to a lot of Ligeti.

  • Did a Ligeti piece get used in 2001: A Space Odyssey for the monoliths theme?

  • @Jadabh3 Yessir, that's the one

  • I can hear it. I can hear similarities. I listened to a bit of Ligeti studying the film but forgot the dudes name. There's a lot of similarities between 2001 and TWBB. I noticed it first in the final scene- the way Plainview walks. Adds a level of commentary in the comparison too as an indictment of Plainview's ethos.

  • Comment removed

  • @Jadabh3 Yes, it was part of his Requiem. Another one of his pieces, Atmospheres, was used as well.

  • sounds like Bernard Herrman (a bit)

  • Yes!

  • Thanks for letting me know, now I just need to find the music to when Daniel meets the sunday family and eli.

  • Does anyone know what track to the soundtrack has the music where Daniel and Hw first arrive to the Sunday owned area and meet Eli for the first time and when Daniel is covering Eli in the mud asking why he hasn't healed HW who has gone deaf?

    I'd appreicate it!

  • it's arvo part - fratres

  • makes my hair stand on end.

  • bone chilling stuff. awesome.

  • all kinds of amazing.

but what else to expect from a Radiohead member?

  • Great music. Sounds like I'm getting my hair cut.

  • awesome! Mr.Penderecki would be also amazed.

  • dont forget Pink Floyd

  • pure intensity

  • There Will Be Blood is underrated. It is one of the most amazing movies this century, if not the most amazing. Add in the musical track by J Greenwood, and wow.

And I hope you know Johnny Greenwood is a member of the greatest band of all time (tied with Led Zeppelin), RADIOHEAD.

    Fucking awesome

  • thank you, you said it all

  • radiohead is amazing.

    fuck classic rock led zep

  • it's harder to believe in your love for the song when you tell us you are a huge fan already...sign, so am I. ... .. have you heard harry patch yet!? it's so good

  • @bfboobie not underrated, it was critically acclaimed and was one of the best of 2007, if you mean underappreciated by the public then yeah okay, but its not underrated in any way.

  • @bfboobie

    Tied with Led Zeppelin? What?

  • @bfboobie Amen

  • @bfboobie what are you talking about? There Will Be Blood is widely regarded as the best film of the decade (myself included). It narrowly missed Best Picture to No Country For Old Men (one of the other best films of the decade) primarily because the Coen Brothers have been coming out with great material for longer than Thomas Anderson and it was time they got some recognition. I don't agree but i understand. I digress though, There Will Be Blood is NOT underrated.

  • @bfboobie how is it underrated when it won so many academy awards?

  • hmm, now i know why he said that he takes inspirations from Penderecki.

    Sounds very similiar.

  • Decent band? Decent?

    Fucking amazing band

  • maybe decent was an understatement...

  • excuse me? understatement is an understatement!

  • @daredate Yeah seriously. A fucking amazingly overrated band. Don't get me wrong, I love radiohead. I've seen them live multiple times and had a blast. But people get way too carried away by them. Must be all the drugs.

  • @DarkRealities agreed

  • @DarkRealities >implying that everything isn't overrated
