Chiasmus IS NOT an ancient form of writing like you are making it seem. Chiasmus is a literary device where letters in words are place traded, which the Hebrews were quite fond of and used all through the writing of the Old Testament. I think offering this as proof of Joseph Smith's authenticity is not a legitimate argument. All it means is that someone found characters out of place in some transliterations among his "translations" of the "Reformed-Egyptian" that he was claiming to interpret.
Many attend a service on Easter Sunday -- called Resurrection Sunday -- that usually focuses on Christ's atonement. Some watch "The Lamb of God," a Mormon Easter video dramatizing the events of Christ's last days and his resurrection. Some also read the resurrection story and have a family lesson on it.
n whatever way befits you, keep a record of your experiences. It is a way to acknowledge God in our lives as we go forward, Cox said. Your personal and personalized record could benefit someone down the road in ways you could have never anticipated.
@omiolo I agree. That's why I find it crazy when people say that the Book of Mormon COULD NOT be true. Why couldn't it? That's what the "...??" was about.
@omiolo "to dictate to God what He did is blasphemy,"
so Joseph Smith's (ABSURD) claims that God commanded him to commit polygamy /actually adultery would easily qualify as BLASPHEMY... just to go along with all the rest of Joe's BLASPHEMY.
Heber C. Kimball: The Prophet Joseph called upon Brother Brigham, myself and others, saying, "Brethren, come, go along with me, and I will show you something."
He led us a short distance to a place where were the ruins of three altars built of stone, one above the other, and one standing a little back of the other, like unto the pulpits in the Kirtland Temple, representing the order of three grades of Priesthood; "There," said Joseph, "is the place where Adam offered up sacrifice after he was cast out of the garden.
The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible and is a record of God's dealings with His chosen people in the New World. The main purpose of the Book of Mormon is "to the convincing of Jew and Gentile that JESUS is the CHRIST, the ETERNAL GOD, manifesting himself unto all nations." (Book of Mormon Title Page) It was written by ancient American prophets for our day (Mormon 8:35) and is an American testament of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Don't judge this book by its cover or by what you might think you know about it. Take some time to read it. We have read it numerous times and are posting topics here to help you as you read.
As Herbert Spencer once said, There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance that principle is contempt prior to investigation.
For behold, I say unto you that as many of the Gentiles as will repent are the covenant people of the Lord; and as many of the Jews as will not repent shall be cast off; for the Lord covenanteth with none save it be with them that repent and believe in his Son, who is the Holy One of Israel. . . . (2 Nephi 30:2)
And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.
And if they are not the words of Christ, judge ye...for Christ will show unto you, with power and great glory, that they are his words, at the last day; and you and I shall stand face to face before his bar; and ye shall know that I have been commanded of him to write these things....
Plural marriage was perhaps the greatest challenge to the early members of the Church. Critics are anxious to avoid putting the choices of early members in context, in an effort to make the early members look like reprobates or dupes. In doing so, they hope to discourage those who hear their version of events from even considering whether these men were true prophets of God.
I think it's called Parallels of Meso America and the book of Mormon shows that of the items that were mentioned in the day of Joseph smith in the Book of mormon, hardly anything had been found to verify his words. Today we have found 75% of the items listed in the book of Mormon. 50% of those 75% leaves no chance for doubt and 25% of the 75% is NOT completely certain, but plausible.
so that earnes a C 75% is passing in most schools, and archaology is slow and it's mostly jungle there.
Here is what you don't understand. Joseph Smith had plenty of acces to books and articles from his day concerning Native Americans as being a tribe from Isreal. His collection of books contained stories of indian tribes that had different colors of skin due to sin. These books were written as fiction. Do you understand?
Joseph smith had no such access to any books, he couldn't even afford a library card which wasn't allowed to the "common" men. Joseph Smith only translated Golden colored plates with Hebrew/ Egyptian hieroglyphics into English. It is impossible to achieve it any other way.
LOL. Did you visit Oliver Cowdery's bookshelf? Google it. You Know no such thing. You just parrot what your leaders in Utah tell you. Why does the rLDS Church have his official book collection? Why has the Lds church tried to gain access to it? LOL. Do your research.
If the Book of Mormon were a forgery, fabricated out of thin air rather than translated from ancient metal plates, surely Joseph Smith would have kept the secret to himself. But he gathered multiple people who saw and handled the plates, and who remained loyal to that witness to the end of their lives, even though many of these witnesses became unhappy with Joseph or the Church, and suffered great persecution for their witness.
They made no money and gained no power, but in spite of everything, never denied their witness. Consider Martin Harris, described as honest and reputable even by anti-Mormons who knew him. He was a man of proven integrity in his community, a respected and successful man who sacrificed much to help bring forth the Book of Mormon. Yet he would later disagree with the policies of the Church and be excommunicated in 1837.
In spite of that, he repeatedly expressed his testimony of the Book of Mormon, that he had seen an angel, had touched and handled the plates, and knew that it was divine. His testimony was confirmed even on his deathbed.
He didn't know what he "handled". Were they rolled up Pepsi cans? He didn't know. His word means nothing. He and his family were poor and trying to make a buck.
"surely Joseph would have kept it to himself". Really, why? "saw and handled the plates" Really? Were they just his drunk IGNORANT buddies in the hood? Did they know what they were "handling?" "all the witnesses stayed loyal " Really? Are you sure about that? How many left the "chruch?" Did these withnesses have any credibility? No, they did not! They were ignorant drunk friends and relatives of Joseph Smith. They would have purchased ice cubes from an eskimo in Alaska.
...the opposing counsel thought he would say something that would overwhelm Oliver Cowdery, and in reply to him in his argument he alluded to him as the man that had testified and had written that he had beheld an angel of God, and that angel had shown unto him the plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated.
He supposed, of course, that it would cover him with confusion, because Oliver Cowdery then made no profession of being a Mormon, or a Latter-day Saint; but instead of being affected by it in this manner, he arose in the court, and in his reply stated that, whatever his faults and weaknesses might be, the testimony which he had written, and which he had given to the world, was literally true. (George Q. Cannon September 18, 1881 in JD 22:254.)
After many years at the ripe of 70 Oliver Cowdery was rebaptized into the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. God bless Oliver Cowdery a true saint unto God!
No proof for the Book of Mormon exists. Only in the minds of Mormon "experts" does proof exist. If you ask outside of Mormonism if it exists, the answer is NO. Ask the Smithsonian Institute what they think about the Book of Mormon!
Really? Wow!! They have studied the claims of the book of mormon such as having grains, metals, animals, cement and buildings. For example, cement was not invented yet neither was steel and certain animals such as the elephant and horse did not exist in the Americas. What say you?
Well it's funny you should mention cement. They have found in Central America and South America several hundred miles of cement roads and a cement a stucco mine that dates back to antiquity.
you mention elephants? yeah artwork has been discovered from ancient Maya artwork depicting ELEPHANTS.
Horses? I don't think they have found yet except some REALLY old ones, way older than BoM times.

The Book of Mormon is full of Chiasmus just as this true video denotes.
Have you studied the story of the Kinderhook plates? You are deluded just like the rest of you Mormons. I don't know how you live with yourself and the Mormon lies.
Chiasmus is an ancient middle eastern form of writing unknown to Joseph Smith in upstate New York in 1830. One of 10,000 plus evidences of the Book of Mormon
