We caught a Mediterranean Moth ; in our Kitchen it had 14 1/2 inch wings ; ; Thing Was just perched on the wall about 9 1/2 feet off the floor ; wings were pulsing up and down ; Took it to the local Reserch facility ! Young fella there ; said he had only see photos in his advanced studies lab work ! . Hey the Larger ones are B E A U T I F U L ; COLORS ! abound !

i can´ t stand flying insects when they are indoor! even small moths! they are so random and unpredictable in their flying which makes them scary anoying and hard to cach!

though flies is ok!

Same man, if they'd hold still they wouldn't freak me out so much. Butterflies don't bother me at all and I let them land on me, but then again they fly slow and easy and are real mellow. Moths are freaking spazoids and will just ram into your head and start slapping all over your face with their wings. I saw a huge one out in my carport tonight, not quite as big as the one in this video but probably about 3/4 of the size, biggest moth I've ever seen.

The one in my carport was probably the size of a hummingbird, I didn't kill it though, I watched it for a few minutes (scared of it though, I'd duck and run if it got too close). I finally got bored and shut the light off and went back in, no point killing him if he's outside, not bothering me any.

It IS a Sphingidae, probaly a White lined sphinx, a nearly worldwide species (this includes the Amercians, Mexico, England, China.\, and the like.
