The City of San Francisco, The EPA, & the US Navy has consistently shown that it has no regard for any of the residents of Bayview / Hunter's Point. I know how things truly work in cities around the world, when it comes to how they deal with the poor & working class. This particular epidemic/situation in SF has always bothered me, as far as the hypocrisy in how San Francisco tries to present itself to the rest of the world, as being a democratic, culturally sensitive city.....

my mom grew up in west point for 10 years and just found out she has 4th stage cancer.she lived there in 1980 and moved the day i was born in 1990. The cancer was a surprise to her because she just found out recently this year in june.my mom always feared she would be next because of the toxic waste she lived around year after year year.she's now 39.

Industrialization is going to ignore this as long as possible. There equation is: Profit > Humanity.

I actually hope all things worth protesting get worse, so a revolt will be triggered. This will refresh the system, and no more temporary profit margin fixes will be announced to tame people.

The economic status quo is a anarchists(not commune(ist)) wet dream. The system is crashing while the white collar criminals lie strait faced on all public media. The naive are mostly the profiteers.

If they wish to fight their local council on this rest assured there is plenty of epidemiological peer reviewed data present on mortality, heavy metal and radiation exposure etc. Such a clean up would cost the government a horrendous amount of money. But hey, that's capitalism for you; a government holding money in higher regard than protection of its citizens.

I wonder whether the government plans to clean this waste area up anytime soon? Also, independent soil samples including geological and toxicological data analysis would help their cause. If they are exposed to Asbestos, Heavy metals as well as Radiation this should be a grand issue. Key word, SHOULD, its a shame their country has turned its back on them.

Very sad. Reminds me of the battle my mother went through with authorities in Vegas. A park where many minorities live was toxic due to an Armory and large School Bus Maint facility were, soil tests proved toxic levels in park soil & water, as a result my family was terrorized for discoverying it,as all trees & grass in park died Family had to move to avoid hired thugs scare tactics

I agree,I am a caucasian but I am ashamed at the things my ancestors have done. We all have been lied to by parents,teachers,clergymen etc. we need to have REAL history in our schools and real education. Our environment just cannot take much more and,as this video proves,the people cant either!
