i was 7 when this aired in the UK and i remember my mum in tears when they read out the sentance.

its all about money in american cases - get a good lawyer and get off free.

americans are hilarious, the point this so called 'lawyer' was making wasnt even to a point, it was just to be over dramatic and see how she reacted. the american system is terrible for getting the truth.

the truth is - there was nowhere near enough evidence to imply she had any effect on the death of this child and doctors still know relatively very little about babies.

it was about punishing someone....and a foreigner just happened to be there - i wonder who could have done it? hmmmm

She's a young girl FFS. She's not laughing because she's pure evil. It's a nervous laughter and a British thing.

If you ask me the whole thing was probably a mixture of both Matthew sustaining injuries on his skull from previous weeks (check the evidence) and Louise handling him in a less than delicate way - and she probably panicked when he stopped breathing.

She is not laughing, she is bemused by some of the trivial & quite patronising questioning that is all. And probably smiling nervously...not to be nasty and inappropriate.

Whenever something awful happens especially with children there has to be someone to blame, a scapegoat to make everyone else feel better that justice was done. If some of you lot were intelligent enough to read, you'd understand the facts on this case before you judge someone just for the sake of blaming the nearest person.

@Raylufc : example: in 2008 out of all the murderers in the usa (and their was plenty of them) only 37 were put to death. Out of these 37, most of them sat on death row for "years". 13 states don't even allow capital punishment in the USA....so its not like we are frying people righnt and left

She was proven innocent. The Eappens knew they killed their own child. They didn't want to deal with parenting so they can make a wide load of extra money. Pure greed. They didn't want Louise to publish her book after her name was cleared. It would've proven them to be the real killers. They exploited her as a bad person and stopped when she was proven completely innocent. They know they would be in deep shit if they kept exploiting her. They made even more money on the shaken baby shirts.

Louise had a fair trial. She was found guilty because she let herself down on the stand - you just don't snigger in that situation - you imagine your family all dead around you if you have to - and - even so - the jury were convinced however wrong their verdict may have been. I think they wanted justice for the parents - but what justice? Convict an innocent?

So wick the guy was being laught off in silence. She kinds of lets that come trought. The defense was violently agressive and win by that. And so was OJ´s trial... is it true?

As the justice system in the UK is generally pretty crap I doubt it lol, but if she was guilty of murder yeah I'd like to think so but they wouldn't have just let her go like that if they believed she murdered him intentionally whatever people say. Whatever country it would have happened in the case and evidence would have been the same but I think the media just decided to turn it into an American vs British thing lol.
