My dad was explaining to me about what happened. commercial banks, trust banks, investment banks, insurance companies were merged together. Congress changed the law allowing banks to do everything. It's like a short-stop playing a safety. different games played by the same people. Banks changed and took risks to increase size and increase networth. not only that was changed but they changed usury laws and regulations. etc + etc. Moral: Congress does not know business.
@angelmarauder That is true. but Congress likes to think they do. That's why I say "Separation of economy and state." Its one thing to step in where there's been fraud, but hoistory has shown us that when the government tries to regulate business they make things worse. I hope you're enjoying these interviews!
