The reason WCW went under was due to wrestlers being signed to huge contracts while the ratings where in decline. The new owners came in saw it was losing money and decided to pull the plug. Even in its declining state it could still get more viewers than TNA does now (in its last year the lowest it got was a 2.1) If they knew anything about wrestling they could have reduced costs and carried on.

@FastandFurious450 I never insulted TNA I was just making a point that if TNA's 1.2 rating was good so was WCWs 2.1. The lowest it ever got was 1.9 higher than TNA's highest so I was saying the fact it lost $60 million was a larger factor in why it was canceled. I consider myself a "wrestling fan" not a WWE/WCW/TNA/ECW fan so I wasnt trying to claim any form of show supremacy.
I disagree, the reasons why TNA went under were more complex then that, but a few key factors were the unwillingness to let young talent go over, (Especially Austin, who fluked into the biggest thing out there) refusing to end the NWO after it peaked. (Wrestling angles need to be relatively short lived. Even DX is only around now and again. The WWE knows putting them away leads to a bigger pop when they show up again)

DDP was absoultly BURIED by The Undertaker & that is an unadulterated fact that can not be agrued in any way shape or form & if you dont know the story then i suggest you look it up. The nWo (Hall & Nash) after Mania X8 were iirevellant plus Scott Hall was overworked working double the amount of dates they agreed to.

Undertaker did mean to bury DDP, watch Kanyon shoot interview when a fan put Undertaker on the spot in front of Kanyon about DDP. Undertaker disliked that DDP would not take a flat back bump so DDP was buried & was comedy mid card act 4 months later after being a super over megastar in WCW.

And since when did a World title say someones being used right or at the top ? Piper, Dibiase, Henning and Roberts never won the WWE title and they stayed at the top for years !
November 2002 & ratings are going down (The Rock, Austin & Hogan are all gone) so WWE waves a load of money in Scott Steiner's face despite knowing full he was still recovering from nerve damage in his foot (they knew this because they had been trying to sign Steiner since WCW folded but were waiting for him to get 100 percent). Steiner's promos are gold worked or shoot. I just watched TNA where he cut a worked promo & it was fucking great - he wanted to beat up Lashleys two year old son.
Even thou Steiner re-appeared in OCTOBER 2002 at the Suvivour Series, before that he wrestled in the independants for a year after he waited for his Turner contract to expire ! Plus - Steiner is cack at promos cause he has a small amount of charisma - and threatening to beat up someones son is not a gd promo - saying for example your son has more talent than you or is tougher than you would be better in my view ! Plus alot of people have said that Steiner is full of crap
I never said winning the world title means someones is being used right but it is the measuring stick of what is deemed to be the most sucsessful period of ones career & all the people you mentioned Benoit, Eddie, Mysterio, Booker T were all World Champs. Take Booker T for example he should have one the starp in 03 at Mania until HHH buried him with one pedigree before waiting over 20 secs to over him - in a match no less where Booker T HAD to win.
Yeh, a world title doesn't really mean your the best, just means you make money (guess why Cena has been champion so many times). Eddie, Mysterio and Y2J were not even WCW Champion and Benoit, Booker and Steiner no matter how good/bad they were, were made champion when WCW was nosediving ! And Booker even said it himself - it was a gd thing he lost to HHH, they had an amazing match, both guys came out of it looking better and Booker said if he won the title then he wouldn't be in wrestling now !

Anyone who knows Sting knows he's not exactly the best of friends with Hogan. The reason WCW went under was due to wrestlers being signed to huge contracts while the ratings where in decline. The new owners came in saw it was losing money and decided to pull the plug. Even in its declining state it could still get more viewers than TNA does now (in its last year the lowest it got was a 2.1) If they knew anything about wrestling they could have reduced costs and carried on.

@FastandFurious450 I never insulted TNA I was just making a point that if TNA's 1.2 rating was good so was WCWs 2.1. The lowest it ever got was 1.9 higher than TNA's highest so I was saying the fact it lost $60 million was a larger factor in why it was canceled. I consider myself a "wrestling fan" not a WWE/WCW/TNA/ECW fan so I wasnt trying to claim any form of show supremacy.

I disagree, the reasons why TNA went under were more complex then that, but a few key factors were the unwillingness to let young talent go over, (Especially Austin, who fluked into the biggest thing out there) refusing to end the NWO after it peaked. (Wrestling angles need to be relatively short lived. Even DX is only around now and again. The WWE knows putting them away leads to a bigger pop when they show up again)
The attitude era finally killed them, cuz they would not adapt.

Kurt,Wolfe,AJ,Joe,Daniels these are your best wrestlers if you were smart you could book any combination to main event PPVs for months . You could even throw in Doug Williams while a small amount of people remember him from his ROH Pure title days. While thats going on you can build up The Pope,Morgan and Hernandez reestablish Abyss as a proper Monster and that will give you some more main eventers for the future. And another thing if you actually watch the TNA programming carefully - they have pushed Sting to the side to promote Hogan non-stop. DDP was absoultly BURIED by The Undertaker & that is an unadulterated fact that can not be agrued in any way shape or form & if you dont know the story then i suggest you look it up. Steiner was misused & WWE should have realised his limations & worked around it, Steiner fucking hates WWE & they wouldnt even let him cut his own promos. I'll agree DDP was buried in his matches with Taker - but DDP was on top leading up to the match because DDP was a heel and Taker the face, plus Taker hates political BS backstage, so I don't think Taker ment for DDP to be buried. Steiner was made to look amazing it's just that his in-ring skills sucked when it came to the match, plus Steiner's promos suck bottom line, if he isn't shooting he has nothing to say ! And if Hall was overworked, it's Hall's job to speak up about it, not Vince's.

Undertaker did mean to bury DDP, watch Kanyon shoot interview when a fan put Undertaker on the spot in front of Kanyon about DDP. Undertaker was fat & washed up in 2000 & he buried many talents (like Mike Awesome for example). Undertaker disliked that DDP would not take a flat back bump so DDP was buried & was comedy mid card act 4 months later after being a super over megastar in WCW.

It took 3 Rock Bottoms to beat Austin, it took 3 Leg Drops from Hogan to beat McMahon, it took 3 F-5's from Lesnar to beat Angle.
But the it only took the mighty HHH 1 pedigree to beat Booker T afterwhich he waited a lifetime to cover him in the match where the racially abused challenger had to win.

Steiner was made to look amazing up until he ran into Triple H (who crushed all the WCW stars which was McMahon's way of saying WWE is superior). Triple H in 2002/2003 was abysmal (his ring performances had deteriorated due to the huge amount of roided up muscle he gained & carried). HHH buried RVD, Kane, Steiner, Booker T, Nash & then Goldberg in 3 minutes at Summerslam 03.

WTF - he's a heel champion, so of course in certain matches some guys are going to be buried cause HHH would cheat ! Plus Steiner in his match with HHH at the Royal Rumble sucked - even thou HHH ended the match with him getting his ass kicked ! I don't think HHH does roids he's a fan of body building - and you obviously have no clue how wrestling works off camera - cause Steiner, Kane, Goldberg, Booker, Nash and Goldberg have had some big match wins over HHH or have had HHH win by cheating !

Triple H never used steroids LOL Yeah i guess thats how in 1999 he suddenly developed 30lbs of solid muscle in a short period of time, HHH is a classic case of a steroid user. You say HHH is a bodybuilder LOL dont you know that bodybuilding has more of a problem with steroids then wrestling? LOL. Tell me HHH wasnt on roids in 2002 with a straight face.

When i say HHH buried someone it means he ruined the advancement of his opponents career. RVD beaten by HHH back in midcard hell, Steiner beaten by HHH was put in midcard, Kane beaten by HHH was put in midcard, Booker T beaten by HHH was put in midcard, HHH beats Goldberg in 3 mins then Goldberg beats HHH for Title but loses it 3 months later to.....HHH. Goldberg winning at Summerslam 03 was the perfect time again for a new champ but.....HHH!

Hall did speak up about it & he was going to quit before his Mania X8 match until they persuaded him otherwise - Hall told McMahon that Austin should work with Nash instead of him.
But WWE asked Hall to work extra because it was Wrestlemnia time & instead of working the agreed 11 days he worked more then double that. WWE evenutally fired Hall for his drinking on the plane ride from hell instead of looking after a guarenteed money maker.

Oh yeah it only took Booker T near 6 years to break the WCW stigma he had attached to him before he finally won the World Title likewise it took years for Eddie, Benoit & Mysterio also.
Its a fact that McMahon prefers his own creations to someones elses regardless if his suck or not.

The only problem with Goldberg was WWE let him talk and do promos which ruined the image WCW built for him - and after Nash beat him at Starrcade before WCW closed it was fucked anyways. Nash was in the title picture for ages and was part of alot of gd matches and gd promo segments with HBK,Steve Austin, Rock and HHH. And since when did a World title say someones being used right or at the top ? Piper, Dibiase, Henning and Roberts never won the WWE title and they stayed at the top for years !

November 2002 & ratings are going down (The Rock, Austin & Hogan are all gone) so WWE waves a load of money in Scott Steiner's face despite knowing full he was still recovering from nerve damage in his foot (they knew this because they had been trying to sign Steiner since WCW folded but were waiting for him to get 100 percent). Steiner's promos are gold worked or shoot. I just watched TNA where he cut a worked promo & it was fucking great - he wanted to beat up Lashleys two year old son.

Even thou Steiner re-appeared in OCTOBER 2002 at the Suvivour Series, before that he wrestled in the independants for a year after he waited for his Turner contract to expire ! Plus - Steiner is cack at promos cause he has a small amount of charisma - and threatening to beat up someones son is not a gd promo - saying for example your son has more talent than you or is tougher than you would be better in my view ! Plus alot of people have said that Steiner is full of crap

I never said winning the world title means someones is being used right but it is the measuring stick of what is deemed to be the most sucsessful period of ones career & all the people you mentioned Benoit, Eddie, Mysterio, Booker T were all World Champs. Take Booker T for example he should have one the starp in 03 at Mania until HHH buried him with one pedigree before waiting over 20 secs to over him - in a match no less where Booker T HAD to win.

Yeh, a world title doesn't really mean your the best, just means you make money (guess why Cena has been champion so many times). Eddie, Mysterio and Y2J were not even WCW Champion and Benoit, Booker and Steiner no matter how good/bad they were, were made champion when WCW was nosediving ! And Booker even said it himself - it was a gd thing he lost to HHH, they had an amazing match, both guys came out of it looking better and Booker said if he won the title then he wouldn't be in wrestling now !
