To the best of my knowledge, Wings of the Dove hasn't been presented, much less recorded, anywhere in the last few decades. What a shame! Sills said it was her favorite Moore opera. Which is saying alot, since she loved Baby Doe. (The guy with the white hair, by the way, is Douglas Moore.)
Although her donizetti queens were one of the most incredible contributions to opera, it's lovely to hear her voice unharmed by Elisabetta, Maria, and Anna, isn't it?
She *should* sing it perfectly--Moore wrote it for her voice. Such a shame she never recorded the whole thing.

Occasionally, we humans are allowed to hear the voice of an Angel.....
Beverly Sills' voice and life was one of those "rare" gifts which humanity will treasure for all time.....

Never heard this piece before (it's by Douglas Moore, isn't it?), but it's lovely, and of course Sills sings it perfectly.
