  • When I was a kid I made a wish to stay a kid, and now I am paying the consequences.

  • Have you seen the new Dr. Pepper 10 commercial? They basically say men, and only men, like action movies, fast cars, and adventurous things

  • Mr. Yilmaz - Great Video! As someone who is working on a Doctorate in Youth, Family and Culture, your video speaks to the very nature of "Extended Adolescence" and the myriad of influences that have made gender roles ambiguous. It is not only men who struggle with their identity but now women are struggling just as well. We are a culture that has been emasculated - not in the sense of being able to relate to "Dirty Harry" - rather in the sense that we no longer know how to relate to manhood!

  • the little prince is the best book.

  • In my opinion, a real man is man who can be a good father.

  • And I hate it when all men think that feminists are manly women with short hair who doesn`t shave and hate men. There. Now we`re even

  • @ivegot2words4ya

It's easy to think that feminists are like that. Especially when you see one complaining about some trivial thing.

But I digress, I know for a fact that feminists aren't like that, but it's convenient to slip the strawman on if you see someone ranting about something that happens to be a part of you.

  • "confusing to be a man"?!?!?

    FAG

  • @leopower7 You belong somewhere else

  • "but on the other hand I always get sort of disturbed when I see a band that sounds like they have one testicle at most to share between themselves." so true

  • oh gosh, the little prince. BEST BOOK EVER.

  • I'm a girl. Do I still get a big adventure?

  • @DeathnoteBB yes

  • @Xrabbite yay :D

  • @DeathnoteBB no, you get a big cock

  • snap.

  • I think those articles are more for the sake of humour, their purpose is to poke fun at the habits and traits of men in a light hearted and comedic way, men read it because they can relate to it and laugh, I don't think those articles actually intend to educate men on how to be men.

  • @PrivateJoker17 You might not think so but some people believe that stuff. That's why it's done. Because of the hope that it will touch enough people to make an impact...

  • @Onescally87 I highly doubt that's why.

  • no wonder I subscribed

  • why is almost every men smoking?

  • How to be a man? That's easy.

You must be swift as the coursing river

Have all the force of a great typhoon

Have all the strength of a raging fire

And be mysterious as the dark side of the moon

  • @SugoiAsano I hope that becomes top comment.

  • I haven't the foggiest as to why, but it's harder to be viewed as a "man" when one is openly gay. I guess people expect people like that to be effeminate, fashion sensible, and catty or whatever. To me, taking responsibility and confidence in who they are makes them a man. People, no matter how "man" they are, who constantly worry about being a manly-man are ironically not men.

  • 2:47- 2:51 Ash from pokemon is still going throw the right of passage for almost 10-15 YEARS!!

  • Another great vid Lev

  • A man is a boy mature enough to do things a stereotypical woman would do.

  • Honestly, I think men and women are the same. Society tells kids how men and women should act and I absolutely hate it. Be who you want to be.

  • An "old kid" is ALMOST exactly how I would put it. At 26, I feel like the same person I was at 21, 16, 12, and 5, at least at the core. I want, think, and like approximately the same things, I just happen to have a lot more experience, but the expectations are a lot higher, too, so I still feel inadequate. Anyway, I said "ALMOST" because there is one key difference between me and a big kid. I love sex. I love sex more than I ever have, but I can't seem to do it as well as I could at 21.

  • lol, "...and would gallantly take care of everything if you fell off of your bicycle."

  • Yes, I'M an "old kid"!

  • as don corleone put it, "women and children can be careless, but not men."

  • I find existing to be confusing, and I'm certain the times aren't helping any.

  • "When i think of a woman, I think of a man, and I take away reason, and accountability". Jack Nicholson.

  • @redreaper2020 I'm sorry to be one who tell it but Jack Nicholson is an actor and that was said by a character.

  • @anecann I'm aware of that. But technically he IS who said it, since he was playing the character. The words did leave his mouth, and I forgot who the fuck the character's name was, so...

  • @redreaper2020 You're right. Thanks to point out im being an *** in a gentle way. Mervin Duvall.

  • Dude, don't worry about being a man, you're gay.

  • @SarsecPally smh

  • Wait, Old Spice Soap-on-a-Rope is a thing? Be right back, shelling out an inordinate amount of money for soap. On a rope.

  • That's weird. I typed in things only men can do and it was on the website AskMen. I stopped the video at about 00:46 and typed it, and then you talk about AskMen.com

  • I like your stuff, I can relate to almost everything you say, keep making those awesome videos.

  • How to be a man? Wrong question, Mr. Yilmaz, you should ask your self what can I be that is for me comfortable to be? If you like guys, go fuck one, if you like chicks go fuck one, if you like getting drunk as hell go get a load of vodka, if you like wrecking your brains out with philosophical questions that afflict 99,999999% of men/women/people then do it.

  • How to be a man or woman.

Step one: Listen to everyone that's telling you what you should be.

Step two: Ignore step one and skip to step three.

Step three:Just be yourself, take responsibility of your own life choices and reject blame that's not of your own.

Step four:Always strive to be balanced and happy

  • @TheWarbirdPhoenix Step 5: Skip all step and be what Oprah tells you to be.

  • @TheWarbirdPhoenix i imagined a senario reading this- a young man reads the first step, devotes his life to listening to everyone thats's telling him what he should do... i mean every 7 billion of them... an old aged man, happy to acomplish that reads step two, followed by his last breath! haha

  • brilliantly insightful as usual

  • soap on a rope, first thing you get for your friend, when he has to go to jail xD

  • mate you are bang on the money! i walk around in a total confused state. your vid struck a chord with me

  • most women wont admit it but the change in traditional gender roles is as confusing for us as it is for men. We're now expected to have a career and clean the house and cook dinner in our Betty Crocker aprons. And I can relate to Levni on the level that though I appreciate the freedom I am given as a women I always feel powerful in a housewifey way when I'm stirring something in a pot on the stove.

  • On one hand.... On the other... On one hand.... On the other... On one hand... On the other... On one hand... One the other....

  • The book he was reading is "The Little Prince". Awesome! :)

  • How to be a woman:

    - be slutty

    - obtain a boyfriend

    - cheat on him

    - flirt

    - flash tits

    - get in a guys face and be dominant

    - swear like a trooper

    - push for more then equal rights

  • @44redman1 ....I am female.

    How to be a Woman:

    -Support your man

    -Be beautiful

    -Be smart

    -Know how to cook

-Like babies. Puppies. Kittens. For that matter, anything fluffy and baby-ish.

-Wear lingerie every night. Or you know, nothing.

-Protect your man from other woman

    ....Be superwoman.

  • @KristinHarmony GOod work buddy your on your way to being perfect :D

  • you're a human. much easier to define. lol.

  • after watching each of his videos, i read the comments with his voice, LOL? interesting...

  • @ugasziz me too XD

  • you should make a drinking game for every time he says "on the other hand"

  • beard all the way

  • You should totally do "how to be a woman?" because i actually have the equivalent feelings as this character as to how to be a woman, i can't be the sexual feminine woman all the time and i certainly don't look like the "women" in magazines and ads...

  • To be I dont think people really mature. When I was a kid like Lev I would see adults as ever wise sages who are in total control of whats going on and what they are talking about working on important projects. Now that I got older I look at my mom, dad, and older friends that ive known for several decades and I think they are no more clueless about life as I am. They all have petty pride issues, panic attacks, insecurity and flaws in their judgement.

  • Adults are just little kids with money.

  • U are a man u don't hav to be anything ur not

  • 1:51

  • you got waaay too many hands!

  • Can someone answer to this simple question: "do REAL men go clubbing?" i have no intention of insulting clubbers here :)

  • i'm a man, according to my sexual orientator... lulz jk. ;___;

  • Body shapes the mind and women can't plow the field when they're pregnant. Today all the practical stuff became relative like never before in history.

  • I just noticed the book he was holding was "The Little Prince"..I LOVE that book T_T

  • tee-vee

  • Yhur voice is hypocrites

  • Feels like being an old kid haha

  • You can still buy a 1980's era Camaro if you wanted to...

  • It's excessively simple: you don't copy a woman but you have equal rights to a woman, that's how you be a man. I don't believe in mere existence: a man needs to act on emotions, show love, and be nice, kind and optimistic, a real man is a pacifist and never fights, bullies or hurt people. Being an agnostic, I'm soft and don't get in physical mindless violence with anyone.

  • Finally one admits that is't basically the same as a big kid. Thanks!

  • @veerleke haha yeah I totally agree!! I feel as though we are all big kids too, just forcing ourselves to be "responsible" when all we want is to have fun... I remember my Dad coming home from work all stressed out and now it is my turn? Where is the sanity in that? God bless capitalism!!

  • all you do is lift weights, get big, get a nice car, and fuck chicks.

  • i LOVE power tools! Handheld jigsaws FTW! =D

  • It's not that confusing at all. Do what you like, laugh out loud, don't hurt anyone, say what you think and be nice to women (listen.) And like Mr. Top Comment says; play, don't give a shit and hell yeah, wear pink.

  • #LOL

  • 1:21 hahahahah, the figure wears underwear! that is SO american!! ahhahahahahah

  • It's too confusing to figure out "how to be a man" so I just assume the gender value of a toaster. With advancements in technology I'm going to be a cyborg eventually anyways.

  • Great! :)

  • This guy is just so...true?

  • the average white man.

  • I really feel women have fucked up everything. They openly state how different "boys" are to "men" Who made them the judge of all males? Who asked their opinion about anything? Personally, I think each guy has his own definition of what it takes to be a man, and they're all right. Fuck what anyone else says, if you're happy and comfortable with yourself that's the only thing counts at the end of the day. You don't have to join the army, lift weights to be a man. I learned that the hard way

  • @HiralShah00 lol? what do women have to do with how men see themselves?

  • Comment removed

  • Well, I'm in my twenties and don't feel like an old kid, i long ago became a man and i feel like one. I think the weight of responsibility, the need to keep yourself fed, sheltered, not living in a pile of shit, and the independence that comes of succeeding in that is what turns you into a man. Being a man is about learning how to get up every morning and consistently take on a big, unforgiving world and create a decent life out of that for yourself.

  • "weight of responsibility, the need to keep yourself fed, sheltered, not living in a pile of shit, and the independence that comes of succeeding in that is what turns you into a man. Being a man is about learning how to get up every morning and consistently take on a big, unforgiving world and create a decent life out of that for yourself"

Much of this is applicable to countless other species' requisites of being a proper male pawn. Reverence for it is the product of psychological primitivism.

  • @AntiBullshitMan so true about the pawn thing.

  • Avoid advice in general. Think of anyone who offers it as giving you "tips to be more like me".

  • @davethehostage OK, I'll avoid your advice then.

  • @ZootWorld1 Now you're catching on.

  • @davethehostage The irony, oh the irony.

  • LOOK! THE DISLIKES BAR! ITS BEIBERS DICK!

  • Haha I totally feel like an older kid. love these videos...

  • Pain is what makes a man :D

  • well its simple be didnt have the man-shaping lifes our parents did.. my greatest goal was to be a good boy to impress my mom and my dad didnt take care of me for shit when i need him cuz i broke my dick, but will always punish me for trying to be a boy.. my dad on the other side had all the freedom that existed before they knew wtf does a tv look like.. i had to sleep at 8:00 pm to wake up for school which is fucking dumb, while he was out with his friends either hunting chicks or drifting

  • How to be a man:

-Be swift as a coursing river

-Have all the force of a great typhoon

-Have the strength of a raging fire

-Be mysterious as the dark side of the moon

    That being said, great video.

  • @akaGwendolyn I rather sincerely love this comment. XD

  • When I was a little girl I wasn't looking forward to be a woman.. with periods, and one day a pregnancy, and childbirth, and staying up all night taking care of the damn baby, and not having a career, and not making some big scientific discovery, and not being tested and earn my womanhood on some big adventure, and still not having permission to learn karate, which I wanted so bad when I was a little girl.

  • don't worry about being a man

    just be an adult

    ......we need more adults nowdays

  • WELL PLAYED... well played... and thats what I think about this...

  • I'm a big kid -- never is going to change.

  • I can tell what time it is by seeing which way my shadow is pointing, but i still have to look at the sun to see which way is north

  • tee-vee

  • Does anyone know a good sex change clinic?

  • I went on visionquest as kid and I still feel like kid

  • i am watching you because i am feeling down right now. it feels really good to hear someone who is also negative and not confident at all

  • A right of passage to be a man...... The journey of finding your adventure is the right of passage

  • Im still a young boy, so this is my same question! >:P

  • Lev is the Man

  • Huh...

I usually feel pretty secure in the idea that I'm a man.

    Even when I shouldn't.

  • "... so far, being a man doesn't feel much different from being an old kid." Definitely feel the same. But at least I'm paying my own bills and buying my own stuff with my own money. I figure that's gotta be something in the right direction.

  • how old are you really?

  • this guy makes me feel good abt meself. atleast i ain't the only confused one. xD

  • How to be a man: got to w w w. theartofmanlyness !!! :DDD

  • @Dudefish420 Typical.

  • Moral of the story? Manly men are stupid. Be yourself.

  • One answer: The art of manliness.

That blog is the shit... so cash

  • :))))) i like the guy that draws these ideas:) so sincere:D yes in fact man will always be children:P children playing.. videogame .. cars.. whatever... but now as they have grown up, the things they play with are also bigger:P:D

  • I have balls of steel.

  • actually i have no idea of what i think about this :D

  • I find it interesting that there are still articles and books about "how to be a man." Let's face it: if anyone wrote an article entitled "How to be a Woman," they'd most likely get ridden out of town on a rail for being sexist, and probably justifiably so. Men are more frightened to break with traditional gender roles than women are, and I think that's because men still fear the consequences of showing anything that could be perceived as a physical weakness.

  • @cyanmanta It also stems from women insulting men all the time by telling them they aren't real men and are just boys. If a man said to a woman that she isn't a real woman and is just a little girl she would sue his ass off and fucking win (kind of hyperbole, kind of reality)<---modern society for you.

  • I am a "man" and I have no idea how I am supposed to act. I am what I am until some external force nudges me in a different direction.

  • lmao about bands that share one testicle

  • HOLY FUCK!!! YOU FORGOT BERT REYNOLD'S MOUSTACHE!!!

  • Simple, real men do as they please and dont give a damn what anyone has to say about it, now this means if i want to wear a funky hat and watch cartoons, im not going to stop just because some loser that doesnt have the balls to tell society what a real man is, and is therefore told by society what a real man is has it in his head that "real men" dont watch cartoons, or wear funky hats, or do as they please without caring what society has to say about it.

  • So, was that band supposed to be Blink 182?

  • This reminds me of the Fight Club quote:

"We are the middle children of history, raised by television to believe that someday we'll be millionaires and movie stars and rock stars, but we won't. And we're just learning this fact."

  • I seriously dislike being a "man"....

  • what the hell is wrong with you people? if you wanna be a real man all you have to do is lift weights, get big, get a cool car, and fuck chicks.

  • #LOL

  • u drive a vagina ?

    YOUR A MAN !

  • The thing I hate most about "men" these days are the men who are so paranoid about being seen as a "man" that they talk about any sort of behaviors & traits that are stereotypically associated with women as though they are bad for a man to have. If you really believe the sexes are equal, then why should taking on stereotypically feminine traits be bad? Masculine traits are not better than feminine traits and vice versa. You look bad trying to prove you're not gay/not a woman. Embrace both sides.

  • @PhoenixDove

that's true, but it's not their fault

for centuries, a man could only find success, self-definition, or acceptance by acting in a way that was perceived to be manly, since this is what the male man has evolved to be. Likewise, women could only find fulfillment in society by acting feminine because that was how we had worked for thousands of years through the ages of necessity. It has changed, and it is better, but it will take a few decades yet to be the way you want

  • @TCovenantUnbeliever I totally agree-- we are the products of society and the past. I'm not saying this is anybody's "fault." Men are as much a product of society and society's expectations as women. I also think change will take time!

  • I feel like a man because I can write in orange #FTW #LOL

  • @FlareonB Actually that's a blue color surrounded by orange...................................I can't exactly tell what the hell that color inside is it's like a fucking optical illusion

  • @FlareonB #I Can do that Too. #CUTE

  • @FlareonB nice #FAIL

  • @FlareonB FAIL

  • @FlareonB Fail!

  • i know this is sappy, but, guy who makes these videos, i truly hope people like you and me and anyone else who can relate to these videos find true happiness someday :)

  • To be a man you must have honor! Honor and a Peeenis!

  • Stop worrying about it. Just be who you are. I am a man. I cook, clean, sew and crochet. I also lift weights, race cars, climb mountains and jump out of planes. Sometimes I wear pink. I never wear a tie or suit. I don't give a shit about those who don't like what I am and I have plenty of great friends.

  • @t4705mb6 the example of a playboy man....

  • @t4705mb6 If only there were more like you.

  • @t4705mb6 do u get crap loads of girls, or r u a 1-girl-man?

  • @Fan1234Naruto I assume you mean sex. Actually I get more offers than I need & rarely get turned down. I don't "date" and think that helps a LOT! If I fancy someone I ask them if they want to JOIN me in doing something, even washing clothes at the laundromat! That way no one has to ACT - no costumes or clown makeup. (I like natural looks anyway.) I don't pretend to be anything I'm not so ....no surprises. I don't say "love" when I mean "sex".

I'm picky so honesty really works for me.

  • @t4705mb6 kewl

  • @t4705mb6 Actually, I think that's exactly what he means about being a man. You are put together, know what you want and are getting it. He hasn't. (in the context of the video...)

You feel how he doesn't feel.

  • @t4705mb6

I know this is a great forum for being all understanding and appreciative and what-not but being perfect is a hard gig to come by...

  • @kingjizzem I have never in my life met an "average" or "normal" person. I've also never known a "perfect" person, including the one in my mirror.
