Rice flour ang gamit sa buchi not ordinary wheat flour kasi magiging tinapay ung buchi mo hehehehehe saka kahit na anong oil na pang prito pwede...mas mgnda ung vegetable oil para mas healthy.
I am so glad I discovered your site. I fell in love with philippino food when I was a kid. My cousin married a philippino and he cooked for us all the time. Loved the food! Unfortunantely, after their divorce, I rarely have had philippino food again. So, now I can look up the recipes and make them. Thank you sooo much!!!
There are several types of filling that can be used for Buchi. The most common is the sweetened red bean paste while the ube and condensed milk mixtures are also becoming popular. You may use any filling that you want as long as it suits your taste.
I think you can use canola or vegetable oil but not olive oil. Flavor wise, peanut oil will enhance the sesame seeds taste while using olive oil might just overpower the intended flavor of buchi. Technically also, peanut oil is ideal for frying.
I love this stuff, I just recently got back from my vacation in Cebu and the first time I had Buchi and I was hooked. I definitely will be making this stuff. Thank you bunch.
Can you shape it in a different way besides a spherical shape? how about a cube or something. I'm planning to make these for a party but i don't want it to be the traditional looking buchi.
