  • I never really thought of it that way, you are so right. It was Normal that your parents were able to have a life, do the things that they loved... and include the kids....it was a family thing. It sure made growing up fun and exciting. I know what you mean about not being the same without your Dad...not a day goes by I don't miss mine too. Somehow, our Dad's find a place right inside our soul, and with that direct inserted strength and love, we will be ok. Thank you for the comment

  • @1twoamused I was so little...I will need to ask my Mum ! I'm thinking Puyallup, Washington...Newport...Bremerton, Washington..

  • i was sooo born in the wrong time! i wish i coulda been around for racing back when the four speed was the trans of choice and gasoline was real. but i woulda drove a ford! probably a 427 sohc...if i was lucky.

  • I sat here next to the muddy old Willamette River and watched this through the tears rolling down my cheeks, with a smile, cuz I love you all. It was good to see Harold, doing what he liked to do !

  • Not many people have what you have...Our Angels are with us always...Yours happens to be the COOLEST Angel ever...Records are still being made.... ( DAVIS ) this word is GOLDEN. To the core.

  • The 60's were the time in drag racing history, when even the Hot Dogs came in on a one car open trailer and the "working man" could set strip and National Records. And the family had to help build the car from the ground up. Lets never forget that! I know he was my HERO.

  • I remember what cool is...cool is scrubbing pistons in gasoline with a wire brush after school...and if you didn't know the difference between a "3/8" and a "9/16" you weren't cool...cool is being comfortable in yout own skin...and Harold Davis was cool..
