People dont want to know to spoilt the magic, some peopel want to know to produce the magic themselves, and take MORE people on that journey you mentioned. I certainly want to know.
because it kills the magic you just created. a good magician is not stupid enough to sink the his own boat ! I never reveal to people wanting to just know because this is not how I want to show my magic. explanation is no magic anymore and should not be part of a show or after the show. think about other magicians who don't wanna tell people ! if they use the same tricks than you, would they be glad to hear thair spectatros say "yes, I've seen tht, I know !". Seriously, don't be selfish.
there is always a way to introduce the "no I won't tell you", plus, whatever they may think, it is your decision. if you're not able to tell them no, this is weak. most people I've told some trick were really sad... like.. "is that it ? what ? this sucks..."
seriously, this problem we're discussing is very complicated and is not as simple as you may think. just by respect for other magicians you should refuse to tell people.
Actually beleiving its actual magic is stupid by that logic.
You are the one being selfish.
People want to learn, and you wont tell them...because of what? becuase you want them to beleive it IS magic? newsflash. Anyone who would ask that seriously, is OBVIOUSLY aware it isnt. -_- "yes, ive seen that I know!" is something some people do, some other magicians do, and if everyone was being as selfish as this, there would BE no magicians.
The reason we don't tell people isn't so they will falsely belive there is 'real' magic. We don't tell them because it ruins the experience for the viewer as well as the preformer.
Think of when you go to a show. You know that crazy adrenilin (excuse my spelling) high you get when you see a great trick and don't know how or what just happened? THAT is what we're protecting. If we tell you how it's done, you lose that. YOU, the spectator. Sure, there are a few people who still appreciate the trick, but it just doesn't have the same feeling as when you didn't know the secret.
You're right, some people do want to produce magic themselves, and those people can find magic shops, books, and other magicians who will be willing to show them for very little or free. You can get most magic tricks from books in the library. If you earnestly want to learn magic, you will but not in public forums. Remember, "Once you tell them the secret, you will be nothing to them, the secret is nothing, the trick you use it for is everything." -Christian Bale, The Prestige
dont wanna be an arse, seeing this even made me wanted to logg into my account just to be able to type this: in your other vid you say that you DONT use threads, bs I say, cause then explain what I see from your right hand at 1.32-1.34, that sure looks like a thread to me, it shines VERY much aswell. -.-
I don't get your point. I don't see anything shiney there, plus I never said this.
if your goal while watching magic is just understanding how things work, then you really don't understand what magic is at all.
as a magician, my goal is not to fool you, but to take you on a trip, living a little dream for a moment. think about that, you're missing all the good parts, loosing time on the stupid part.
i do see that something shines for a quick second. im not going to spoil the video for others though. don't worry abt him. just keep progressing. and very smart not to engage in an argument bc at the end of the day its not magic...just illusions.
are you talking about that small spark we see on the left side of the ball at the time mentionned ? lol I just noticed that. nothing to do with the trick though, since nothing is attached at the spot of the spark. but you know, there are trees in the shadow, the ball is white, sun is shining. so I don't really get the point of mentionning that... thanks for your comment anyway.
well, lets see thru things : if you think the zombie ball is a dumb trick, you're really not ready to understand anything in magic. juste face it. I won't help.
thanks ;) i had mine (a brand new one) for 250€ so about 357 bucks. its the cheaper i've found on the market, but you can look for lower prices (second hand). building one is quite hard... well good luck ;)
revealing magic secrets is stupid. 99% of the people just want to know how it works, and 1% or less will try to perform. then, 99.999999% of the people who give magic secrets are way bad teachers. you want me to kill magic ? what is the matter with everybody ???
lol. actually your right. i do want to know how its done so i can do it. but ive jsut found this wierd thing about it called "floating gimmick" im gonna buy it online. so i suppose revealing this secret illusion is just gonna make alot of people say "i know how to do that" and thus taking out the magic in the illusion
I totally agree with you AmazingBoy2 . Revealing the secrets is pointless. I don't want to know. I like seeing the magic performed well and it's entertaining . Exposure videos are killing magic, so I am glad that you did not show how it is done. I liked your floating effects very much.
too true, theres a lot more to magic than just tricks, magic is an artform that challenges what we know about the world and what is possible. Levitation is one of the most potent examples of this. and theese levitations are top-notch.

some people just want to know and not perform, even if not spoiling magic. it is not good to tell them too...
TheAmazingBoy2 2 years ago
Why not? if they beleive it for a moment, and then you tell them, its fun, and a learning experience.
if they beleive, then ask, and you refuse, it just seems jerkish, theyll look elsewhere, and no one learns anything.
