These guys must play or have played tons of D&D. From the lyrics and song titles to the album covers, it all screams of late 70's early 80's D&D. Awesome.
@kidballistic i got to talk to these guys when they were in the middle of writing these songs. summer of 2009. and we didn't get to talk to J.D., but all of them said he played D&D, and all of them except Trivett smoked.
I gotta say I started listening to these guys a couple months back and love everything they have done up to this point which is a rare thing these days. Seem to get only stronger with each album
Wow...have never heard of these guys until Ultimate-Guitar did a review of thier new CD. They're good. Vocals are a little hard to make out, but considering that I'd neverh eard of them until now they're quite good. How long have they been around?
@WolfMetal45 They formed maybe 6 or 7 years ago, but first album was 2006. I caught on to them maybe a year later. They had some real attention with Freya in Guitar Hero.
And shut the fuck up would-be commenters. GH is a perfectly fine way to be exposed to bitchin music. If its good whats it matter? Go jerk off somewhere else you hipster fucks. Obscurity =/ talent.
Usually, the longer a band is around, the worse their material gets as they are just trying to make a paycheck and fill contractual requirements. but with these guys, everytime they release something, its a litle better than what came before it.
iv been into the sword since Age of Winters, and im glad to see people are finally fucking catching on to how good this band is. Already hearing buzz that this could be Metal album of the year. if so, hell yea! job well done
@Xenogalaxy79 i dont know about album of the year, but its definitly a huge step up from their last efforts. just the overall amount of new chances they took is really refreshing. i also kinda dig how its not as doomy, but a little more groovy and rockin. Im all about the doom, but its refreshing to hear a bit of an evolution.
@zachDPR I agree . I been playing them to anyone who will listen and the reaction is the same. ' This band kicks ass. " Its the way I like to rock . Its heavy without insulting the listener with the same old gimmicks that is being passed as heavy metal or hard rock.
