@thegeekgroup thats shattering well i wish you luck with your next studio building, if i was their i would come help you's build it! but im in australia. but good luck !
can i let u all in a studio secret ? go buy a descent sliding glass door with 2 double glassed doors. make sure they are on plastic frames . tear them apart except for the framing around the doors (remove the tracks etc.) and there ya go....ready to install and large. we've done them in 2 different applications and they work incredible.and YES YO DO NEED TO ANGLE BOTH SIDES OF THE WINDOW. otherwise u get reverberation AND u get light reflections.
I feel your pain, I've cut a lot of glass its funny how the tricky cuts you fret over turn out just fine, the insid curve that you sweet bullets over, fine not a problem than the straight line that should be easy enough for a monkey ends up just runing alll over the place for no really obvious reason.... other than of corace deamon possesion.
If you use the ones that aren't sealed, you should put them on a oven tray, and heat them at 250~ for 10-20 minutes. That way you remove the absorbed water from the packets.
when you're doing windows in recording studios, don't you want to slant one or better both of the windows? to reflectt sound in other directions and suppress reverb?
@olivius007 Unless you can angle them at 8 degrees or more there's no point in it. In our application it wasn't required because of the layout of the room.
sounds like some really hot scores....meh, maybe the mic is picking it up wierd but those glass cuts are making me cringe...

Dude, most silicone sealer requires moisture to set up, and outgasses acetic acid. You may want to wait a bit before trying the large window.
