Zen,first known as Chan,began in China,a blend of Buddhism&Chinese Taoism.Japan imported Chan/Zen.Samurai-Zen: a distortion&perversion?Taoism's founder,Lao Tzu's,Tao Teh Ching is very much against war&its glorification.Zen teacher Alan Watts noted a Samurai might think nothing of testing out a new sword on some innocent peasant.Chinese Taoist monks first developed martial arts to protect monasteries from attack,NOT to engage in war mongering."Martial Zen" & "compassion-less Buddhism":oxymorons!

I think the Samurai was only Zenbuddhism from 1614-1877 before that they beleave on shintoism, buddhism, zen etc. that is what i think
