My goodness.. Watching this video and seeing so many of the 'friends' that have gone on Home to Glory really brings it home that the message of this song says it all. God loves us and sticks in with us when the going seems impossible. We can't see Him holding us when we are in the storm, but when the storm is over, we can sure see that He kept us safer than we could have ever known.
this song was 1 of the staples of almost each of our impromptu jam sessions. i loved it then, and i love it now. if i had any questions to that fact i can look in the mirror and see the stream of tears that flowed once again. mr sumner was indeed an incredible singer and will always be 1 of my favorites forever. i just hope that elvis he and i can gather around the golden piano and sing all the old gospels together someday. i miss them both.

Mark Lowry had a lot to do with leading him to a real walk with Jesus in the years before he went onto Glory-land. I can listen to this song over and over and cry every time. This is one of my favorite true gospel message songs.

Yes, I return to this page regularly. At 72 years of age, we do start to think of the end coming in the not too distant future, and I hope to hear J D sing in person again on that day.
