  • Bro what number is you car of the 439? Last 3 of your VIN.

  • 100mph in a car with no brakes, that I can take........but the asshole that was filming needs to be punched right in the balls! What a waste of film.....

  • It has 28 thousand, 7 hundred, and 46 thousand miles on it........

  • Great to see the old girl stretch her legs. I also have a 85.5 SVO in Canyon Red with cloth seats. She's been down since '93! Damaged by a hit and run but on the mend. Started sporadically in my yard but full of great memories. Shot down a few 5.0's, T/A's, Camaro's and Conquests in my day. Hoping to bring her out to Detroit for the Mustang 50th Anniversary celebration in 2014.

  • Why can't ford make something like this again? Mustang SVO's were truly special cars for their time.

  • @AnAbortiveRomance Well, Ford is planning a new 2015 SVO ecotech.

Looks like in the video, the old girl still has Goodyear Egle GT Gatorbacks on it. Cool.

What a car back in the day. I hope the new SVO that is coming out will be as innovative as the older version was for it's time. It would be a shame for ford to pull stuff out of the parts bin and make up a car and call it an SVO.

  • Top Speed? I had an 84 svo. I pinned the speedometer on it a couple times. That pin was way past the highest marking of 140. Based on the Tach, I estimated my speed at 160+mph with speed still increasing, but I ran out of room. :) That was an awesome car. It handled great, was fast and got great gas mileage. I averaged over 30mpg. On one trip, I got over 40mpg. ...I ditched cops several times, they just couldn't take the corners like I could in that car. (I was young)

  • ....and interestingly enough, my parents had an 86 for a while. It had a boost cut out, or something that prevented the speeds I achieved in the 84. I only got it up to around 130. It also got much worse gas mileage. It was a bit quicker off the line though and the turbo on it seemed punchier. The turbo on the 84 had a slower but more intense build.

  • Wow, 29k original miles? That's unheard of! Good to see you taking care of it

  • good to see an unmolested car

  • Wow, that car is fast. Why didn't you put more miles on it? Enjoy it!!!

  • The interiors changed so much between 85 and 90. The 85's seem more industrial and the 90's seem softer with more plastic. I like em both though

  • What's the top speed on these things?

  • @punchmaster123

Im not sure how fast these things can go at full speed, but I do know that the speedometers go up to 140 mph.

  • @punchmaster123 144 M.P.H. TOP SPEED!!

  • @punchmaster123 My 85 1/2 top was 145.

  • @punchmaster123 140 145

  • That looks nice:)

  • Lol, awesome! Keep her on the road. I love seeing these cars.

  • Dude, how much is a rotor!?

  • @WhatTheHellsAGigawat The car is fixed and on the road now. It was actually the calipers that were bad, the rotors were fine. We got the old original rotors turned down and got new calipers and break hoses. This old horse loves to be driven!

  • 2.3 turbo of pure fun

  • awesome

  • It has the ford smiley face steering wheel!

  • Not going to lie, I love the old 1985 dash. As soon as I can find one I'm going to throw it in mine. :)

  • Lmao, that mileage would be insane.

  • Funny, I did catch the wheel on fire in my 85 SVO at the then Sears Point. The phenolic piston melted. Got the meatball flag, S.F. region SCCA road racing with a P/T class svo in the early 90'S . Still have the car too. Race winner at Thunderhill Ca. :)

  • 28,000,746,000 original miles? thats easily a world record

  • talk about a fun car? wish i still had mine! this was a bomb-ass car to drive. snow and ice.. was a nightmare.on hot-sticky pavement... imagine the rest... ooooh baby!

  • NOTHING BRINGS A TEAR TO MY EYE MORE THAN SOME GOOD 'OL BOY DOWN SOUTH,OWNS A RARE SVO MUSTANG,,AND HAS NO CLUE HOW TO DRIVE IT. COME UP HERE TO MICHIGAN,WHERE THE CAR WAS BUILT. WELL SHOW YOU GOOD OL BUYS HOW TO properly DRIVE THAT S.V.O.!!

  • @EXTIQUE Dude im from Tennesse and I own a pinto and I can drive it

  • @EXTIQUE Right! You will know I'm not that guy if you see my 85.5

  • 28000746000 original miles wtf thats got to be some kind of record right?

  • are u selling

  • ONLY IN PA :p

  • Why don't you ever drive this car? only 20 some thousand miles on it? Don't make it a trailer queen they were meant to be driven and i know she's rare but enjoy it don't just enjoy seeing it sit in your garage you only live once lol

  • i have the very same car! and i love it. my dad gave it to me, havent been driven in about 14 years though. love the seats, and the interior, just needs a little fixing up. but until i get my permit or drivers license...staring at it and drooling will continue.

  • it has 28 thousand 746 thousand original miles, what the fuck that does that mean?

  • @deathlord747

Thats how many miles it has.

  • @deathlord747 ru retarded?

  • Damn, bought brand new and still own it. You rock!!

  • I'd love to have an SVO, especially a low miles example like yours. Whereabouts in PA, (I'm originally from Altoona) . . .

  • Do you think you will sell the car anytime soon?

  • @turbobuick33 No Way! haha

  • I have owned an '84 SVO since 1989. I have had alot of fun in it. I agree it is a pain in the butt when the brakes just freeze up out of the blue and almost catch the car on fire. been there.

  • Man I loved these cars !!!!!!

  • man i miss my svo.

  • "safety first..." "just don't dare use the brakes..." LOL! Man that car is in nice shape. I just sold my 84 that ran 11.80s and have a 85 Turbo Coupe now [vids are on here]. I'd love to have that car, mine was a 1E / silver.. like the Jalepeno red better.

  • @imschlodes thunderbird?

  • @NitroGadvRules

Yep, I had an 84 SVO that ran high 11s and the same basic setup is now in an 85 Thunderburd turbo coupe, it went 12.2 @ 113 mph before I put it away for the year. .

  • Is that a cop? lol

  • @dan30cal HAHA!

  • Nice car, I remember when these cars first came out.

niffty: I would too, I have been looking for an SVO and am about to pick up a sage green 86 that needs a lot of work.

  • @Lee8995 Sage green. Rare SVO there!
