@lesedi711 the warp engines create a synthetic version of sound. Instead of causing air particles to expand and contract, it bends space it's self causing your eardrums to create a sensation much like sound. Notice, the soler explosions are silent. :-P
Voyager is the best Star Trek. I've watched them all but you can't beat Janeway, Seven of Nine or any other the others. Voyager was also a great ship itself and had a more advanced and modern look to it than previous series. It also has a great intro with great music.
Just watching Voyager's last season (ep.08 just played in my living room). In the past, I never managed to watch Voyager as much as I wanted - Just few episodes from the early seasons. Is there life after Season 7? I am not a 100% Trekkie, maybe close to 75%, but that is enough. I just love this series!
i liked TOS TNG and Enterprise but I never realy liked this one becuase when it comes down to it is about a ship getting lost..... PLus i personaly think this shows charachterization sucked compared to others.
I love TNG and voyager. I watched them both as a child, and when i saw voyager i was like "Nooo, the stupid woman took the wrong way! I want data back"
You know, the tone Voyager had was a lot more... I don't know... realistic than TNG. TNG had that air of "Crazy stuff's going down, but we're just chillin' here", and DS9 was a lot darker. Voyager was a mix of those tones, and it felt right. Except for Q. Q sucked in Voyager.
TNG opening is hard to compete with... but this is damn good! xD
Am I one of the only people who finds it REALLY hard to decide which star trek spin off is the overall best between Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager?
I've grown up my whole life with StarTrek. my mother even stayed home watching the Enterprise while she was in labour with my brother. Voyager is definately my favorite though. As much as I like Data and Worf, there's just something special about seeing Harry Kim, Tom Parris, B' Elanna and the rest of Voyager.
There's still the books, one cool thing about Star Trek is that it's essentially endless and it feels like their lives really do keep going on beyond what we see, quite a quality.
Just watching some of the silly edit videos online makes it feel like it's still going.
There's a darn lot of other sci-fi out there also..........
Yeah that was totally lame, I think the writers should at least put out a 200 page book to give a way they feel it could have ended. SGU was ok I guess overall but I was sad that it ended like that.
Atlantis has books after the end, all the Star Trek series have lots of books connected to it, SG1 has books, Babylon 5 has lots of books, Dark Angel was canceled and had books, SGU just has a novelization of the first episode so far.
I have every single episode of this show in my library and for good reason, this show is much better than the crap seen on today's television called reality TV shows where the producers hand pick the most stereotypical people of a demographic.
@ulyssesbrown5000 AGREED.....the show stands out as the best Star Trek series ever, we all have our favorites, but nothing compares to the storylines, and the characters, the actors who played them drew us all into their world, I followed this show every week from start to finish, and as a guy, I absolutely got teary eyed when they got home finally, like the show Lost, it was one of those shows that thank God someone made the right choices and allowed the show the go straight through.....
@stvoyager Exactly, for me it was the deepest and most touching series. I also loved this one more than most others because for the first time, the captain was a woman and I've always admired strong women. ^^
@ulyssesbrown5000 LOL.....My point, we all have our reasons for making this the best series ever in the Star Trek world...along with the average nine million viewers a week. lol.and yes on Janeway, was nice to see a woman take no ones crap....she stood her ground......one question to you or any other fan, can anyone still to this day tell me why when they jumped to warp did the warp nucells go up......this is the only ship I know that had that feature in any of the series.
@stvoyager Yes, they do go up. To my knowledge at least, the Voyager is the only ship or rather its model (Intrepid-Class) to do that. I always loved that feature! But then again the whole ship looked different than all the others; pointed nose, necells lower than the rest of the ship, ect. Oh and the only ship I ever saw actually making a landing on a planet surface which i always thought was impossible.
@ulyssesbrown5000 Yes and that as well LOL LOL....loved that feature......when they first showed that in The 37's from Season 2.....WOW was the words best to describe what I thought.
@stvoyager Captain Janeway was more inspirational than most other captains I think. She took shit from noone! Oh and I seem to recall her saying and I quote, "I don't respond well to threats...". xD
they need to make another star trek series... and not some stupid one of them in the PAST... we need to move forward!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ENTERPRISE and KIRK shit sucks!
@DustyMadman Same here buddy, this brings back great memories :) funny thing was that as a kid I never used to really pay attention to the show when I watched it, but now that I'm older I really wanna see it lol
@Truegenius23 Well sir/maam, just type in any show title for the series, I have found all of them so far on Youtube, someone or a bunch of people have been so nice to share it, Im living the show all over again, and forgot many things, Im on season 5, and am like a kid in a candy store again.....and if my memory serves me right, the best was 6 and 7, so the best is yet to come.....ah the show down with the Borg Queen on Endgame
I can tell you this about the intro, close your eyes and imagine you are on the Voyager. You are lost and millions of miles from home, yet you soar through the stars exploring and making new allies. I love this intro because it feels like you are an explorer at 0:29 I had goosebumps, the rhythm, the instruments, the bass are all perfect for this show.
Anyone else think Voyager was the best of the franchise? Combined the best of TNG and DS9 and added some original elements. I watched like every episode of this when I was a kid. Although, no one can argue against Picard as the most epic captain ever. Janeway was a close second.
You don't need words for the song, but I think it would have been worth it for them to try to find a way to fit a Kate Mulgrew rendition of the "Space... The Final Frontier..." Speech in the intro. Obviously it wouldn't be exactly the same as the Kirk/Picard speech, but still, that part is slighlty lacking. Nevertheless, an amazing intro sequence.

This one and TNG are the best, DS9 is a close runner up, but they really jumped the shark when they did the intro for 'enterprise' - all that inoffensive softer than soft rock music...*shudder*.
@supereliptic DS9 is my favorite (TNG and Voyager are awesome as well)... but I do agree about the Enterprise intro. I just looked at all of the Star Trek TV intros and Enterprise is the worst... they should've stuck with non lyrical orchestra music like the rest. I think it gives the show a feeling of epicness that any type of lyrical song just can't provide.
@BishopS Yeah, your right. With lyrics, you have alot more variables that have to fit together in order to create the right feeling for the show, whereas its much easier to create an uplifting, but still subjective listener experience with just an orchestra and a good score. The thing is, Star Trek has never used lyrics in its theme songs, except the "to boldly go" intro piece, so thats the model that they should stick to. IMO The best sound track that Star Trek has had is from the 2009 movie.
after watching every season of DS9, and now just the first 2 seasons of voyager i've decided to stop watching because the characters are terrible, there's no development or great interactions like there was between the DS9 crew like Quark and Odo, Sisko and Dax, Jake and Nog, O'brien and Bashir...then the voyager's lost in space story, which is so poorly done, there's always the magic reset button at the end of each episode =\
@GodschildJCE Originally it was part of the show to do away with the USS part and use the Starfleet name instead, but in this timeline, To simply call it Starship Voyager was out of the question. So its name was designated NCC 74656 Wells Class Voyager, or NCC 74656-W Voyager
The music of this intro is deeply beautifull. And also the video
