Hi, do you know the max resolution for the x300? and do they make them with the big size enter key? this is us keyboard right? maybe it's on the Uk version, do you know?

That is actually not correct, you can change those brightnesses without it plugged in, I own a thinkpad i know.

This guy is a moron. You can see the same amount on both screens because they both have the extract same resolution. The problem is everything is TINY on the x300 compared to the t61.

Im either getting an IBM Thinkpad R40, T40, or X40. I am leaning towards the T40 though. All are under $400, but the T40 is $430. I am leaning away from the R40, as it is bulky and heaviest of the three, but it is still an option.

He just want to sell the x300 model which is more expensive so he has plugged in the x300 model in the power suply so that is brights more like in every laptop. Sorry for my bad english

you have to remember the x300 has an led back light which makes the screen brighter

it really has a led back light but the difference isn't that noticable. In fact i own a x61 and with the F button and F9 you can set the screen from full brightness to no brightness at all... and this is definately not the full brightness with the power supplier connected

Yeah,Ok, but the X61 hadn't the power cable on and it may had affect the screen bright.

depends on what you need. mobility (x300) and performance (x61). anyways... macbook air got pwnd.

Performance? X300 hasn't made any compromises. X300 offers mobility and performance. The only thing I dislike is the preinstalled Windows XP. Why don't they just preinstall Linux like Dell?

HA! Windows XP Professional had WAAAY higher performance than Windows 2000, from faster boot times, to higher security, higher hardware support and compatiblity, etc... XP Pro is better for laptops as opposed to Windows 2000. XP even gets better battery life.

x61 for now, I have to say. I just got my X61 and pretty happy about it. The cost of SSD is just too high for me. I don't want to pay 1000 dollar just for a 64g SSD, but I am sure the price of SSD will drop to a reaonable price.
