  • Damn, that's great. Just GREAT. Last time I felt this way after the first time hearing a song it was after hearing Neutral Milk Hotel.

  • If I had an orchard, I'd work 'til I'm sore.

  • I'm so grateful to be alive, just to listen to this beautiful song!! :)

And it's been an entire year since this video was uploaded! Cool.

  • trying to get the numbers

  • this is amazing

  • 0:46 , ok thats it im buying tickets to there next concert.

  • 34 people had an orchard but hired immigrants to do all the work.

  • This is content that is Copyrighted by WMG.

  • 'i was raised up believing, i was somehow unique' - beautiful line

  • @thepumpdontwork We must test this. With a time machine and two electric guitars.

  • They sound a bit like Cagney and Lacey when they went electric at Newport in 1965. What? Well it's as bloody plausible as all the other "they sound like ...."

  • Wow.

  • This is outstanding.

  • <3

  • beeaauutifull music <3

  • resurgence of the 60s?

  • I didn't realize Simon and Garfunkel got back together.... awesome.

  • I love Indie type music!! <3 You guys are great!

  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. BE NICE!

  • Guys i love Fleet Foxes and Mumford and Sons...don't hate on them because they are popular.

I love their music, so what?

  • Fleet Foxes remind me of Bruce Springsteen more than anyone else.

  • this song is really peaceful and calm to listen to yet you guys still fight over stupid things. *facepalm

  • being flynn is definitely going to be an awesome movie just because they used this song in the trailer

  • I totally expected to hear "two headed boy..." at the beginning haha.

  • "I was raised up believing, I was somehow unique.

Like a snowflake, distinct among snowflakes, unique in each way you can see."

    Love that first verse !

  • does this remind anyone else of ryan adams?

  • def have the CSN harmonizing down beautifully. What a wonderful song.

  • check my 3 videos from my profile, I made some very ridicilously idiotly funnu, but still good song :) intsrumental.

  • Would have put the new Metronomy, m83, Austra, and Yacht in there but great list!

  • the 33 people who disliked this song obviously did not listen to these lyrics.

  • Yes, I think they sound like Simon and Garfunkel, in this song especially.

  • @IrishBettyBoop Me too. Simon and Garfunkel A Church is Burning and this one are very alike.

  • Im here because of The Needle Drop

  • @TheKeshaDemos GTFO

  • @TheKeshaDemos

Yeah only then with the things and FUCK YOU.

  • His voice reminds me of the singer for the band "Yes." Like Yes does crosby, seals, nash and young.

  • @M14r5z9 Stills*

  • Thank you for keeping your video free of links, and ads and all that other 'ruinsome' (word i made up) shit. Fleet Foxes.

  • its almost as if the underground 'hipster' movement met some sort of bluesy country type thing, then mixed with the beatles.

i like it. my science teacher showed me these guys.

too bad my science teacher is a dick..

  • am i the only one who thinks they sound so much like simon and garfunkel?

  • @songtree27 They sound exactly like simon and garfunkel, you are not alone...

  • that moment when your listening to the grand fleet foxes, and you realize your wearing there band tee >

  • I'm getting into FF but I've played this song to five of mpy friends and, independently, they all said 'That's Simon and Garfunkel!'

  • For any guitar players who love this band, here's a little tip: Pecknold plays all his songs in open d major and uses a capo where applicable. For this one, he puts in on the top fret to give it the D# major.

  • Simon and Garfunkel rehash - but it's ok

  • @Mancheguache

I listen to a lot of Simon & Garfunkel, as I'm a huge fan of all Paul Simon's work and it only barely sounds like them... I mean to call it a 'rehash' is obviously a lack of knowledge with either Fleet Foxes or S&G because honestly they sound very, very different. :P Unless you have terrible hearing.

  • @Steoandnoodles67 Not 'obviously' at all fella - they sound remarkably similiar to SG. Listen again to 'Homeward Bound' the vocal harmonies play the same tricks as this not bad dittie. Don't get all defensive/offensive with the sticky out tongue - it's all subjective isn't it. I mean your second sentence (it's a struggle to understand it isn't it?) is a bit hoity and pompous really. Music is a relative thing and FF put me in mind of SG. I have excellent hearing thanks -

  • @Mancheguache

I still think you're wrong. Their harmony mannerisms are far more like CSN(Y) than S&G. Really, really can't get the S&G feel from the vocals. The music, maybe but not the vocals.

  • @Steoandnoodles67 - Thing is you can't be wrong in musical 'judgement'. If it's 'good' (good in pure technical terms as in in time, in tune, in sync, start and finish on time recorded on good kit) any judgements anyone has on it only reveal facts about them. Right and wrong don't belong. It's revealing that you "listen to a lot of [SG]..." it makes you more likely to like FF - no beef fella I'm in the same area - what's the best FF track anyway? They're good

  • @Mancheguache

Yeah CSN(Y) Crosby, Still, Nash and Young. Not everyone includes Neil Young. But any way; I think in this case; I find CSN sounds a lot closer to what Fleet Foxes' vocals are like then S&G. Look them up and you'll agree. Best Fleet Foxes track? I dunno, subjective. ;)

  • @Steoandnoodles67 CSN(Y)?

  • Weird that a record label would upload just the song with a picture of the album.

  • @hightimesbruce i don't think there's an actual video for the song so what can you do

  • Fleet Foxes is truly the most beautiful band. When no one seems to care at all or I feel hopeless I can listen to one of their records and just lose myself in the loveliness of their songs. I can never say how much this band have helped me.

  • beautiful <3

  • let's get this song to 666,666

  • @apicalmaristem i have a feeling that the kind of people who listen to fleet foxes are not concerned with such immature bad vibes

  • @inhalefarts haha, right, they are in tune with mature good vibes like Christianity, society's ultimate disaster.

  • @apicalmaristem 666 is part of Christianity. I could care less about Christianity, and I agree with inhalefarts(lol) Fleet Foxes is on such a different level.

  • @apicalmaristem dude what the hells wrong with you

  • The best part from 2: 50!<3

  • whenever I listen to Fleet foxes, i feel like i'm under the northern skies with flying whales circling above me, while i'm watching them, contemplating life <3

  • did this really not get nominated for album of the year??? what a travesty. this is the album of the year in my eyes.

  • Only beautiful people could create such amazing music. I seriously could just listen to this all day to slip away from the dead thing my life is. Someday, hopefully things will change. Everyone has so much potential.

  • I like that they put (not the video) thanks for not trying to scam us into viewing this!

  • @curtchav lol :)

  • the beetles?

  • @fuzzlocar no

  • meh

  • i agree i should have been more clear, modern pop is complete garbage and you cannot deny that it isnt goin to lead to anything but more BS generic music, i sure hope your not about to include kesha and britney spears on that list.

  • why does pop music even exist? this is beautiful, and this is my new favorite band.

  • @dikmo35 Without "pop music", we wouldn't have the Beatles, Elvis Presley, the Beach Boys, and plenty of other bands that inspired hundreds of others to form music as we know today. Without pop, this music wouldn't be here.

  • @Drummer1285 you have listed bands that are all part of the rocknroll/rock part of pop music. But you are right

  • instead 0f 4/4, they should try singing this in 3/4 time (waltz)....oops- just as I wrote that, they switched to 3/4. Ha!

  • OH MY GOD. *o*

  • LOVE that time change to 6/8 =) heck i just fricken love this song and band

  • reminds me of simon & garfunkel SO MUCH I LOVE IT

  • I read, listening to Fleet Foxes and like coffee. Does this make me a hipster? No, these are simply things i like and enjoy.

  • @gnatmagic Truth.

  • @gnatmagic You're a hipster if you like Fleet Foxes? First time I've heard that stereotype. I thought this was for folk heads! Fantastic band either way!

  • not too sure about some of the lyrics but the rest is pretty damned hot.... Must have more of this.

  • @mbhollands "gold hair in the sunlight, my light in the dawn"... swoon!

  • God...those harmonies...*falls flat on face*

  • @pianod00d Ew, you said the G-word

  • OMG there are still some "real" bands out there still!!!!

  • disarm you with a smile

  • I'm not afraid to admit it anymore, I love moody hippie music =]

  • TEMAZO DESDE ESPAÑA¡

  • <3

  • lol if only you knew ....

  • it's like sparkly fairy lights you listen to.

  • love the album art!

  • amazing

  • listening to this on vinyl is really difficult due to the multiple orgasms throughout the record.

  • it sounds a lot like a new age moody blues. i can dig it

  • SUB POP records is honestly like the best label ever; like, nirvana, the Jesus and mary chain, beach house, fleet foxes, mudhoney and so many others. I am impressed.

  • @IBrokeYourLegs and the shins

  • @IBrokeYourLegs they also released the best hip-hop album of the year, Shabazz Palaces - Black Up

  • An amazing label, to be sure. Also for Hot Hot Heat and the Constantines. Yep Roc is pretty awesome too.

  • @IBrokeYourLegs. beach house is SUB POP? wow. sweet

  • @IBrokeYourLegs So true. When you think big labels like Parlophone or EMI would have the best bands in the world, you start listening to great great bands that speak to your emotions and then you discover most of 'em are from Seattle or Sub Pop ^^

  • hooked instantly to this band when i heard white winter hymnal for the first time a couple minutes ago... no regrets

  • i dont have to be on my knees to be greatfull ;)

  • Simon & Garfunkel couldn't have done any better in their prime.

  • Holy crap! Just found these guys too!

  • This reminds me SO much of Simon and Garfunkel, if i didnt know it was fleet foxes, id think it was them haha

  • Long may you reign, NW.

    Cascade Champions, stay true.

  • This should be the anthem to the Occupy Wall Steet movement...see you in the city

  • Im glad that this band overshadows all the hipster bullshit music out today.

  • and those of us who are musicians are utterly inspired by bands like this =]

  • @HIDro723 its nice to have bands like this in a time like this

  • @HIDro723 everyone is utterly inspired by bands like this =]

  • This song is on Amazon for free! :)

  • i love them

  • They sounds like

Simon and Garfunkel meet the Moody Blues

    Nice!

  • @just4rds i was just thinking that!i think there's a little early fleetwood mack in here too.

  • @nomiclas Yeah Okay I hear a little of them too. I think they think so also. FLEET foxes. FLEETwood mack. Good call! lol

  • WOW! These guys are amazing.. Think I'm'a hunt down their songs..

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. Their sound is a great breath of fresh air for me. Something I can sing in harmony to. Love it.

  • So far, this has been my favorite album of the year. But that's personal to me because part of this album was recorded in Kingston, nearby where I live!

  • @poughkeepsiejohn1 would that be Kingston,Ont?

  • If you like Fleet Foxes, or any artist similar to them you may also like:

  • These songs remind me of the wisdom of my grandfather. I miss him...

  • @HMachProductions i miss mines as well, and i miss my brother as well.... music takes us places hun? :) a hug from Portugal my friend :)

  • i like this song, i just hope that when performing it live it doesnt bend the time-space continuum to the point that they are transported into simon & garfunkle's heads c. 1968. because i would miss the fleet foxes.

  • @kylekaufman there's a whopping dose of Buffalo Springfiel/Neil Young in 1966 in there as well! nothing to complain about!

  • @kylekaufman

  • Proletariat, RISE!

  • @GnomesAmok I truly believe it's coming. There's one percent of the population that think they truly are the only ones on this planet that matter. While the other 99 percent does all the work for them. A revolution will come sooner or later...

  • @dkelly26666 I had a revolution once
