  • Come on with the OMIKRON 2 or HEAVY RAIN 2. Make it happen Quantic Dream!!!

  • @PoeFlow hell id be fine with a indigo prophecy/fahrenheit 2 game as well. though, im sure that we can be expecting a new game but im betting it'll be a new one entirely

  • Thanks for uploading this, I remember reading about this in an old Playstation magazine when I was a kid. Looking at it now I'm glad it was never released on the Playstation 1, it probably would have ended up like the shoddy and only just playable Urban Chaos. Finally gald to see it now, it looks great, I love late 90's videogame visions of the future.

  • @iainknowsthis

Interesting tidbit about the aborted PlayStation version: David Cage actually claims he had a full version of the game running on that system. Very, very, hard to believe. But then again, this is the same man who has compared himself to Orson Welles.

  • omg i remember me and my dad bought this game from a factory 2 U clearance bin for 3 bucks and we couldn't figure out were our apartment was so we never played again lol.

  • omfg THANK YOU SO MUCH i was trying to remember this games title all day and i spent at least 12 hours looking for it you sir just made my day

  • This game reminds me so much about the Matrix for some reason...

  • I loved this game, but gave it away because i couldnt get it to work on XP :(

  • Awesome!

  • Also nothing was highlighted in this game... You had to really pay some attention.

  • You didn't feel us comin' in this lonely croooooowddddd

    It's-al-ways-time

  • The character ruins the immersion when he says "when you leave the game" at 3:31

  • @ssckfilms It never bothered me much while playing this game. Different times eh...

  • I wanted to play this game but never got a full version. I knew it was a great game cause I read it in the PC game reviews. I hope I could play this game even if it took me some more years. XD

  • Link no work anymore :C

  • played this game so long ago but never finished it. Got stuck in some cave with some kind of ghosts in them. Maybe u remember where that was?

  • is it possible to get the sound track to this game anywhere?

  • @MrSamwise666 The special edition "Hours" double CD from 2005 has the Omikron: the Nomad Soul versions of the songs on it. It is also one of the best DB studio releases from Bowie since the 70's in my opinion.

  • You have been the victim of a violent attack! NO $H!T

  • F***** good memories..! :D

  • i still have the original 3 cds pack

they game looked cool for its time kinda gta

but the controls sucked dick and the save system was tedious as fuck

the collision detection system was plain awful they shouldnt have

tried to combine fps+2d fighting+3rd person rpg all together

god the game was a flop they even got bowie to do the soundtrack

anyway they got it right a decade later with heavy rain so brav-o!

  • @EnormousSugarDaddy

You have it exactly backwards. Heavy Rain was a steaming pile of shit. This game, for all its flaws, was fun.

  • awesome game , this was my first 3D open world game and loved every second of it.

  • My first and favorite Quantic Dream game! I don't know if the sequel will ever be released but it probably won't compare to this one so I'll just stay with the original.

  • One of my favourite games on the Dreamcast, despite the conversion making the first person sections seize up at times.

  • Many have already said it, but this was way ahead of it's time. It blended styles well and influenced GTA and related games in that it was the first to have a living breathing environment. Classic stuff! Bring on the sequel ;)

  • Can somebody help me!?! I installed Omikron off the actual discs I bought like a decade ago, it runs fine, but once I get to the main menu, I can't seem to access any of the submenus, new game, load game, options and even quit, I can't access them!! I'm assuming the enter button is whats supposed to work, the space bar just makes stupid noises, and every other button does nothing as well. I find myself crtl+alt+dlt my way out everytime.. anybody run into this problem too??

  • I still got my old copy I'm so glad to know I can now play it and finish it!

  • Was playing Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy since a few days now and remembered my days of Omikron. Oh man I'm so happy I ran into that game when I did, many years back. It's ideas, gameplay and world are still etched into my mind. Amazing game, far ahead of its time, and if you ever read the features that this game included you're thinking they're talking about Heavy Rain, not Omikron ;)

I'm glad you made this playthrough, Athrix! Was sorta looking for a Let's Play on it but this may be better too!

  • Oh man, I can't run it on my windows 7 :( HEEELP ME! lol I tried 2 days, like 20 hours, nothing I did works... I have geforce9800+, when I turn anti aliasing on at least 2x I see some shadows and some special effects but that all. Else, all is black screen, only see sneak and subtitles... I want to play it with 3d come on...

  • @TheCrusaderBin The fix is to just turn AA off. If you turn AA on AT ALL then the game will glitch. The game is still in 3D. You can turn on trilinear filtering and even triple buffering to help performance, but AA must stay off. It will support any resolution, all the way up to 1920x1200, probably even higher if you have a big enough screen, so it isn't like AA is exactly necessary.

  • @Aleksael Believe it or not, it's not about AA for me, new beta drivers (no longer beta I guess) works and the game is fine. Old games like this are not affected by AA very much but it always keeps the rough edges look better, regardless of resolution :)

  • @TheCrusaderBin If I'm getting you, are you saying you have AA on with newer drivers and you don't get the artifacting? It has artifacted for me on either AMD or Nvidia cards any time any AA has been on. AA is great and I use it almost all the time, cranked as high as I can without lowering framerates, even at 1920x1200. But I'll gladly turn it off if it eliminates a glitch. AA has a bug in FEAR that kills soft shadows and they really accentuate the game, so I zap it for that one too.

  • @Aleksael The thing is, I can no longer use nHancer at all, since it has beend discontinued. I also migrated to x64 bit windows7 (was on 32). Game works still after migration (I left the folders untouched on this drive) but obviously can't try it with AA anymore... and If you had the newer nvidia drivers, than you can't use it with AA either, nHancer has been not updated recently as far as I know.

  • @TheCrusaderBin You can run the game with AA and an nvidia card, standard forceware driver installs an nvidia control panel to handle this. And if you set your panel to do any AA at all by default then you would run this game, and think it is broken. Turning it back on brings back the glitch, turning it off cures it.

  • Awesome game!

  • Shit, where's the any key?

  • :D quantic dream is one of my favourite game developers :))))))))))

  • I am so happy that this game runs on Windows 7. I haven't played it since I first bought a Dreamcast, and I can't wait to start this game again.

Unfortunately, I had to download it to test it out before I found a copy but now that I know it works I can't wait to buy it and have the original box and everything again. I love this game.

  • i recently played through this for the x time and it just doesn't get old. the soundtrack is absolutely amazing.

  • The logo kinda gets in the way of the text a little.

  • @Nornami sorry about that. this was never intended to sprout into a walkthrough, it was just simply a test of how it runs on newer hardware at first. Then i got the walkthrough idea and it went from there, but thankfully it's only on the first part

  • Have fond memories of playing the demo of this game on PC years ago. :)

  • 3:36 RAWR

  • Excellent post. I am playing this game for the 1st time. It runs perfect except for one thing.......If I go to the map the system locks up and I have to completely shut down. I am using XP and an nvidia card. I tried all possible solutions and none work. Hopefully I will be able to get around without ever needing the map. I'm happy you posted a walkthrough...I may need it.

  • omg i remember this. it was on tomb raider game as a demo but i could never find it...maybe cuz i was so young but it was so addictive..bout to go look for it now

  • "i will take over me body when you are about to get laid and hold your place until me canon is out water"lol

  • In order to do this, you must transfer your soul in my body. "press any key to say yes"

so how exactly do you say no? =P

  • @wubs23 I lol'd

  • This was the best game of it's time. God, how i loved this game.

  • Jeez, he says be careful with his body and the first thing you do in the game is get assaulted by a bugman! XD

  • OMG this game i love , i play this game im my sega dreamcast , past 10 years... i have this game original

  • wow, HD and no talking? I'm watching this! I don't have nostalgia towards it, I'm checking it out for "historical research" purposes lol so thanks for posting!

  • This game brings back memories

  • @nino0057 back when games used to be fun

  • The best part was when he got an uppercut to the brain then the robot comes out and says you just got raped go home and eat ice cream lol!!

  • Wow, the pc graphics was a lot better than the rushed dreamcast port

  • I had only played this game once, and the disk died. For the longest I thought I had dreamed the whole thing up. I'm actually kind of glad it's real. I love how it breaks the fourth wall like this.

  • @Dostriamai and do you also love how its break your cd like this?lol

  • Anyone else love Omikron's font?

  • @InstantMix it's cool until you actually attempt to read anything written with it >.<

  • i always ignored this game since it always received bad reviews...is it worth playing? yes i know graphics isnt everything but perhaps if they made the graphics a little better it would of sold better..fortunate we humans like eye candy...its like trying a date fat chick and say yea she is a nice chic..its just the way it is...should i get this game is it worth it?

  • is everything David Cage does AMAZING I mean shit greatest games come from him

and he still doesn't get the respect he deserves

  • This opening is insane. it feel more like an opening to a really good film. The graphics look great considering when it came out. I've never had a chance to play this but now I really want this game lol

  • I really wish david bowie's "hours" album had contained this verison of 'suspicious minds."

  • @ocerg1111 The 2005 reissue does!

  • @lordsofkoble aw, i downloaded it from amazon a month ago and it didnt have it :(

  • This was one of the finest and savviest RPG's of its time, and was way too underrated. Most gamers still haven't even heard of it. Its a shame too, before there was a mass effect, there was Omikron. It was years ahead of its time.

  • Yeah windows 7 is pretty damn good for retro gaming, I can play system shock 2 and thief 2 better than i could on MY old xp pc.

  • could you post all of the awkward infomertials? i remember one that went something like... "suspect someone having nonconformist ideas tell a mind control agent" or something like that. its been a while. i even remember there was one infomertial that was posponing the weather.

  • "press any key to say yes".... so you mean i can't say no?

  • @melforce123 well you could turn off the pc and let the guy trapped betwen he and your world lol

  • been playing for a few days now story is getting really good suprising lol didnt think Kayls wife was a demon

  • @TNAfanatic863 that's 1 of the best parts too,lol.

  • @lilrizq Yea its a great game, havent finished it yet though. stopped playing it after i blew up that bridge

  • weeeeeeee ROFL oh and acctuly its not the only 1 he's got he also has a deamon body!!!

  • Do you agree?

Press any key to say "Yes"

    LMAO

  • the music was also VERY AHEAD of its time. has a decent 5th element vibe

  • "do you accept? ... press any key to say yes" wth?! that means i have no choice!!!!!!!!

  • @chopaface

well you could exit the game.... I guess that would be the way to say no....

  • So nice to find one on here...i love this game and was intending to do one myself

  • this and headhunter were my favorite dreamcast games.

  • this was actually the first sandbox game i've ever played.

  • one of the reasons i still have a dreamcast

  • This game was the coolest when i was 7. The intro actually made me think it was real. Kids are dumb.

  • I own a DC, I own this game... yet I have never played it for some reason

  • @uthoria i TRULY feel sorry for you.

  • They are producing a second sequel of the game.

  • This game is an absolute masterpiece.

  • HOLY crap who knew the Dreamcast was so ahead of its time

  • faved first part of this as it is really good playthrough ,

  • Great post. I just started this game. I don't know what it is but I like everything about this game.

  • i did not remember such a long intro ?-(

  • Where did you get the information that they were making a sequel?

  • i think this game shud run on Windows XP SP1 and SP2 but i had SP3 couldnt get it working, works on vista but not windows 7 64bit dunno about Windows 6 32bit maybe its just my gfx card i dunno

  • your very lucky , i don't know how to get this game on work on windows 7 , tried the combability mode win 98/me still won't go for it when i started a new game

  • Does anyone know what the first song is called at 6:00? David Bowie sounds wicked in that song like something out of a James Bond movie.

  • @sirfortiscue "New Angels Of Promise" from his album 'Hours'.. Great album and all the music is in the game (with a few minor lyrical changes to put in the name Omikron)

  • This game was ahead of its time.

  • definitely

  • I've just entered Kiwan's tomb, so close to the the end!

  • - Omikron

    - Fahrenheit

    - Heavy Rain

    classics, David Cage rules

  • Yeap, my 3 fave games. Quantic Dream 4ever/

  • @TokyoBrando I agree. I know production takes a long time for these games, but the final products are amazing!

  • This is one of my most favourite games of all time.

It's old but if you haven't played it, its worth the effort.

  • The intro theme and main menu theme are INCREDIBLE !

  • intro mwoah... main menu.. yeah.. its dark..

  • Hmm..hope this is any good. Well if atleast if it doesn't work on pc I can always download it for dreamcast.

  • One of the most enthralling pc games I think I've ever played. Easily in my top ten.

Graphics and gameplay are (and were even then) not so good, but a good story and captivating environments go a long way.

Sort of a Blade Runner futuristic film noir with a tinge of satire and social awareness. Great soundtrack thanks to Bowie and Reeves Gabrels. Everyone should check this game out.

Oh and nevermind consoles, then and now.

  • LOL press any key to say "yes"

wut if i wanna say no D:

  • XD nice one !

  • So let me get this straight its been years since the first Omikron, and now they are working on a second one? What the hell...so what console are they gonna put it on? Do you know how long this game has been in the back of eveyones ones minds? Don't get me wrong I love this game when the Sega Dreamcast was still in style. Whats taking so long?

  • @Darksyringe666 ps3, and heavy rain has slowed it down.

  • So worth it in my opinion. Heavy Rain was a fantastic experience and has made me a fan of David Cages work. I had actually played this game and never even noticed it was made by the same guy's who made indigo prophecy as well. To bad my copy I bought froze up after an hour of playing :(

  • @Athrix255

Well, it's been quite blurry since Nomad Soul 2 was expected to be released after Fahrenheit, and we all know that Heavy Rain was their last game.

I crave for a new Nomad Soul, maybe one that would deal with the genesis of the universe, within we would play Kushulain.

  • Omikron 2 has been in the making since......2001..ROFL......

  • @Darksyringe666 plus they didnt start working on part 2 straight away

  • That theme song is strangely still very listenable even after all this time. I guess Bowie is simply incapable of producing crap.

  • i know right

  • Ach, me too. I loved Fahrenheit, but I have an Xbox, and I can't afford to get a PS3 at the state this country is currently in. Hey, maybe they'll finally make a PS3 emulator....though that's probably wishful thinking. :(

  • @Corialos Hehe I feel the same way, but I doubt that will be for a long time =[

  • I had this for Dreamcast and PC great game, if not a bit odd.

  • Ah, nostalgia....

  • Omikron 2 - Karma is the new one going to be called, dont know when they are gonna finish it though, its gonna be great:D

  • it was canceled 2 years ago. they made Heavy Rain instead

  • yes but i thought it wouldn't be cancelled for good, i mean yes they would focus most on making other games but they would never leave Omikron 2 for good ;/ ;/

  • They need to remake some of these old games... Update the graphics and the gameplay a bit, then re-release for free! :)

  • They are working on Omikron 2 :]

  • They are still working on Omikron 2?

  • Thank you so much for posting this, I loved this game so much when I was a kid and the David Bowie music was awesome!!

  • Yes

  • Cant wait to play Heavy rain!

  • I had this game for the dreamcast. This game and Shenmue took over my 9 year old life back then haha!!

  • I hope that the sequel looks better than this. I don't mean graphics wise tho'. I understand that you could only do so much on the PC back in those days. I mean I hope it doesn't look so... Flash Gordony, y'know?

  • Good old Omikron. Used to do this for hours back in the day. One of those games you just wanted to walk around and explore every possible back alley and part of the city. :) Fighting and first-person sequences could have been better but Omikron is still one of my all time favorites. Fantastic music too.

  • this game took over my life for a while back in the day. one of the best games ever made in my opinion. the graphics and game play were a bit ropey but you can over look that in a game of this calibre.

  • I can't wait for a new game by the same team called "Heavy Rain"...who played "Farenheit" knows what i'm talking about O:)

  • wasnt this game on the n64 or something. i had it but not on pc. i just cant remember what console it was

  • dreamcast ;)

  • @Athrix255 Another reason why Dreamcast was awesome and under appreciated...

  • @Athrix255 weeeeeee!

  • that would have to be the dreamcast then.

  • I remember fighting astaroth (Sp) and dying and it says I would be in hell for like billions of years lol...good times

  • rofl, enter name: weeeee

  • Nice job man I cant believe u recorded the whole game.I played this game when I was 13 that was 10 years ago and I still think about it. It sure brings back memories watching this. Maybe i'll watch this whole game instead of playing it. lol

  • yeah I played it when i had a dreamcast...yrs ago...still a good game

  • whered you get this game man? i got the demo but i was like 7? anyway where did you get the game? :)

  • amazon has the game. you can get it for around 20 dollars new, or around 8 dollars used

  • @MsInferno amazon? okay man i gota note that down tnx btw

  • @MsInferno i ordered it with shipping it was like 11

  • go to DCISOZONE(dot)Com you can download it there for free and burn it onto a CD-R.

  • awesome game !

  • is there any game more recent that seems like this one?

  • There is supposed to be a sequel on X-Box 360 called Omnicron-Karma but I don't know if it's already done or in process

  • sorry, i meant another game that had similar gameplay mechanics...

  • Huh? What do you mean?

  • another game that has some similar stuff with this one...

  • @Karralmer I think they're still looking for a publisher - it's supposed to be coming out for the PC, 360 and PS3

  • Ok, thanks for clearing it for me!

  • No there still making it. I cant believe it takes 10 years to make one damn game. But cant wait.

  • you should be able to, but idk about the fps sections

  • can u actaully buy the game on pc?

  • see description for download, but if you look hard enough you probably can :)

  • i wanted it on my pc but to thick to install it will just hav 2 buy a dreamcast again but i had this game and it was amazing ive never played a game where u actually felt involved this and shadowman greatest games ever

  • Yah i know you get so involved in this game. And I had shadowman but I couldnt get past the first level. Got stuck on the cliff or smth. lol.And the graphics for that time are really good and u didnt need a 512 graphics card with 2 gb of ram and Pentium 4 3.0 to play this game. They really need to relearn how to make good games again. Its not all about graphics its about the story.
